The aim of this study is to examine metaphors and what may be perceived as motif-circuits in Stig Dagerman?s play Den dödsdömde (The Man Condemned to Death) and the two short stories ?Den dödsdömde? (The Man Condemned to Death) and ?Mannen från Milesia? (The Man from Milesia). My intention is to discuss a single theme and identity-marks that unites all three works, using Paul Ricoeur?s The Rule of Metaphor (La mêtaphore vive) as well as the ?thematic critique? of Jean-Pierre Richard.What is metaphor for Ricoeur is for Richard themes (theme): an organizing principle, a sort of schedule around which a world is constituted. Hence, I find similarities between the motif-circuits, Ricoeur?s metaphor-theory and Richards?s themes.

Människor får möjlighet att ses och mötas i stadens offentliga rum. För att försäkra att staden på ett hållbart sätt planeras för dess invånare, behövs kunskap kring hur det sociala livet i offentliga rum fungerar och även hur vi kan bibehålla och utveckla dess funktion som mötes-, aktivitets- och uppehållsplats. De offentliga rummen i en stad är till för stadens alla invånare oavsett kön, etnicitet, ålder, ekonomi osv. Dess användning skiljer sig genom tiderna och domineras idag främst av frivilliga aktiviteter dit bland annat sociala aktiviteter räknas. Det finns varierande sätt att ta det offentliga rummet i anspråk. Konflikten mellan föreskrivna och unika användningar genererar en social friktion som främjar mer öppna och tillgängliga offentliga rum för fler grupper. Genom litteraturstudier med utgångspunkt i det offentliga rummet studeras det sociala livet och dess förutsättningar.

This project explores how artificial landscapes as parks and squares above ground can save space by using the vertical voids in urban environments and how they can create spatial and social as well as ecological qualities and connections. Hybrid landscapes are a phenomenon of current interest within the field of architecture and urbanism. Architecture as surface, where facades and roofs become possible to tread, is a relatively recent occurence that has over the past few years become an increasingly common sight in architectural magazines and on international architecture exhibitions. Many of my selected reference projects have often been associated with sensational contemporary design trends generated by advanced computer software. But the phenomenon is also a result of other different currents of change that exist within today?s society, such as densified cities with a lack of open space, which is also expressed in architecture.

My work deals with large scale design of the urban fringe. The thesis is divided in three parts; ?Current viewpoints?, ?Infra City ? conditions ? and ?Infra City ? project?. In the first part, I go through the history of trade shortly. Then I discuss the concept of nature, which ends up in a linkage between natural science and aesthetics in landscape architecture. The link between those two makes a project stronger and more multifunctional. The object of my case, Infra City, is a mall situated north of Stockholm on both sides of the E4 motorway going to Arlanda airport.

The purpose of this work is to raise ideas and interest for land that is very much forgotten,unused and neglected in terms of maintenance and usability. Railroads are often seen as adirty and loud intrusion in the landscape and therefore cities turn their backs on them. Theland around railroads is not considered useful despite its often central location and scrublandis common in these areas.The starting point of this work is the restrictions and possibilities linked to the land withinthe security distance 30 meters from the railroad center. Within this security distance thereare numerous limitations and regulations due to the nature of railroad use. These limitationsare counted for in the initial chapter and lay the foundation for the rest of the work.

AbstractThis qualitative study has been made to examine which factors that are required to create a work place that can be associated with loyal co-workers. The study covers half structured interviews with nine people on different levels and with different positions, within a manufacturing company in Värmland. Our ambition with this study is to find out if, and if so, in what way the view on loyalty and which factors that are required to encourage loyalty, differ depending on witch level one belongs to in the organization. Our thesis is that our respondents will have various ways of expressing the term loyalty, and that these various ways are linked to the different levels that each employee is currently stationed at.The result of this study shows that the way people look at loyalty, and what loyalty is really about, does not differ that much among our respondents, regardless of their level. The factors that, according to the respondents, are important if one wants to create a work place that can be associated with loyal co-workers are: to be able to feel trust towards and have faith in those one works with, as well as the company and the way things are being run, to be able to experience the feeling of community, and that one is happy with ones work place, as well as ones co-workers.

Sammandrag Det här arbetet handlar om elevgrupper på tre olika nivåer och hur de nyttjar bisatser i sina texter. Två av grupperna har svenska som sitt andraspråk; en av dem går på grundläggande vuxenutbild-ning och den andra på den gymnasiala motsvarigheten. Den tredje gruppen utgörs av elever med svenska som förstaspråk, och dessa studerar på gymnasial vuxenutbildning.För att fastställa andraspråkselevernas möjligheter att utveckla en komplex syntax, undersöks först deras PT-nivå utifrån Processbarhetsteorin och därefter syntaktiskt samordning och underordning av bisatser. Därefter anläggs olika perspektiv på bisatsanvändning, såsom nivåer av underordning, bi-satsfrekvens och topikalisering av bisatser. Likheter och skillnader mellan de tre grupperna visas och mynnar ut i slutsatsen att studienivå är viktigare faktor för L2-tillägnande än förstaspråk.

This essay is a study of explicit subjectivity and valuation in Swedish literary historiography from a power perspective. The methodology involves qualitative perusal of literary handbooks from 1915 to 1999. The author Fredrika Runeberg is taken as a window, in that I have examined if and how she is described in the selected handbooks. The main purpose has been to see if subjectivity in disparaging terms and condemnation of authorship have become more evident during the years under consideration. I have related the twelve selected handbooks to Hallberg's five methods for literary historiography.

Undersökningens syfte är att jämföra datorskrivna och handskrivna elevtexter för att ta reda på om gymnasieelevers texter skiljer sig åt utifrån vissa språkliga aspekter beroende på om eleverna skriver på dator eller för hand. I undersökningen har en komparativ studie av fem datorskrivna och fem handskrivna elevtexter genomförts utifrån en kvalitativ textanalys med fokus på texternas språkfunktion, disposition, textbindning, syntax och ortografi. Utöver dessa har även två kvantitativa analyspunkter tillämpats i undersökningen: textlängd och genomsnittlig meningslängd.Undersökningen visar att det finns skillnader mellan elevernas datorskrivna och handskrivna text, men bara på vissa områden. De största skillnaderna berör främst de kvantitativa analyspunkterna som visar att både textlängd och meningslängd är längre i de datorskrivna texterna. Likaså går att fastställa små skillnader mellan texternas språkfunktion, referentbindning och satsradning.

Fisksätra has a historical background that goes back to the battle between Russia and Sweden that took place in 1719. This battle is known as "Slaget vid Stäket". Today there are plans to develop Fisksätra as a tourist destination where focus lays on the historic factor of the battlefield that took place there. As of this a project called the HAMN project has started to try to develop a new experience park at this destination unlike any other.The aim of this essay has been to study how much potential this experience park has to become a popular tourist destination in the future, while looking at the potential interest of the foreign tourists. This essay is written as an assignment for Göran Andersson, who is in charge of the tourism department at Södertörns Högskola.

The aim of this study is to examine the services offered by the public libraries in the context of distance learning students. I wanted to examine if there has been any discussion among the public libraries on how the new needs and demands affect them. To get a premonition on the development in Sweden I have focused on the public libraries in the province of Blekinge, which in many ways can be looked upon as precursors. Interviews have taken place with the distance learning students contacts at the local public libraries, the responsible librarian and a distance learning organiser at the local university college, the county library consultant and one of the chief librarians. I have reached the conclusion that no thorough discussion on the far-reaching aspects has taken place.

Bakgrund: Den ökade globaliseringen har fört med sig att allt fler företag ser möjligheten att genom internationalisering av sin verksamhet nå nya marknader. Ett Östeuropeiskt land som har blivit attraktivt svenska företag att investera i är Estland. Den geografiska närheten och starka tron på tillväxt av landets ekonomi är några faktorer som gör detta område intressant för svensk handel. Hur kan då en internationaliseringsprocess gå till när ett svenskt företag etablerar sig på den estniska marknaden, vilka problem existerar och hur handskas företagen med dessa? Syfte: Syftet är att beskriva ONOFFs internationaliseringsprocess i Estland samt att identifiera nyckelfaktorer som inverkat vid företagets etablering på den estniska marknaden.

 Syftet med min undersökning var att ta reda på vilken typ av underlag som används i förskolors och skolors utvärderings- och analysarbete och se i vilken utsträckning det arbetet är kopplat till det utvecklingsarbete enheten väljer att fokusera på. Jag ville också veta i vilken utsträckning det är förskolechef/rektor som beslutar om utvecklingsområde, om de upplever att det är huvudmannen som gör det eller om det sker ett samarbete.    Enkätundersökningen genomfördes i två grupper från rektorsutbildningen på Karlstads universitet.   Mitt resultat visar att det i verksamheter som har nationella prov och betyg så blir detta en stor del av underlaget, både för enheten och huvudmannen. I förskolan används till största del intervjuer och personalens självvärderingar. Det som i högst grad ligger till grund för valet av utvecklingsarbete är nya bestämmelser från riksdag och regering och huvudmannens prioriteringar, inte de egna analyserna.

 This report will describe a project between two students from Karlstad University and Markus Norström from Hovercraft solutions. The project aim was to develop a cabin for the hovercraft 380TD. The project was divided into two sub parts; one concerning the design of the cabin and one concerning the engineering. Throughout this rapport you can follow the engineering part of the project. The project has followed a systematic product development process resulting in optimized results for material selection and engineering solutions.
