The purpose of this article is partly to find out how the burial grounds are used today and the needs of its visitors, but also to develop the character and expression of future burial grounds. My suggestions focus on burial grounds without religious attributes; something that, according to the burial law (Begravningslagen, 1990:1144), the manager of the burial ground is ordered to obey. In my design I aim to fulfill any requests regarding the place of burial that have been raised during my study. I have chosen the history of burial grounds as my starting point and will subsequently discuss their significance in today's society. I describe what distinguishes the burial ground throughout history from medieval times and onwards. Tradition and religion are closely linked regarding burial rituals.

I examensarbetet undersöks de två företeelserna orienterbarhet och rörelse i stadsplaneringssammanhang. Genom att koppla ihop teori och praktik ges en ökad kunskap om hur orienterbarhet och rörelse fungerar.Först sker en teoretisk litteraturstudie av vad några stadsanalyser påstår och påvisar gällande orienterbarhet och rörelse. I studien ingår författarna Kevin Lynch, Inger Bergström, Bill Hillier, Gordon Cullen och Jan Gehl. Både orienterbarhet och rörelse som är tätt sammankopplade, påverkas till stor del av omgivningen. I litteraturstudien ges exempel på analysmetoder som kan användas för att undersöka orienterbarhet och rörelse på en plats/stad.De studerade teorierna och analyserna appliceras på den planerade stads-delen, Västra Centrum i Varberg, som är fallstudieobjekt i examensarbetet.

The present study deals with the usage of the school library for upper secondary school students. Is it a place for working or studying? The questions are:? What do the students say they use their school library for?? Are there any differences between students in theoretical programs and students in practical programs with regard to their use of the school library?? What are the features of the ideal library from a students? point of view? My study represents a user?s perspective. The investigation is both quantitative and qualitative. Eighty-two inquiries from four different classes, representing two theoretical and two practical programs were carried out.

The aim of this thesis is to fill a knowledge gap regarding how online players use libraries, their attitude towards libraries and what they want out of future libraries. We see it as a problem that the library world of today does not have much knowledge about an audience that is so prevalent in society.The theory used in the thesis is Henrik Jochumsen, Casper Rasmussen Hvenegaard & Dorte Skot-Hansens model that divides libraries into four functions. The four functions are meetings, knowledge, inspiration and experiences. In the analysis we added a suggested fifth function, a digital space, giving the digital interaction and information needs of today´s society. The method was focus groups on online forums for gamers.

Syftet med min undersökning är att genom kommunikationsetnografisk metod undersöka hur arbetet med manus går till på Ica Bokförlag. Vad händer med manustexten i redigeringen? På vilken nivå inleder redaktörerna sin redigering, och var lägger de mest arbete? Undersökningen baserar sig dels på intervjusvar och enkätsvar från anställda på förlaget, dels på analys av tre texter när de befinner sig i tre olika faser i redigeringsprocessen. Intervjuer och enkätsvar visar att det redaktörerna upplever att de arbetar mest med är stycken och samband, disposition och syntax. Resultaten av textanalyserna visar bland annat att det är på nivåerna lexikon, interpunk-tion och innehåll som flest ändringar sker.

Resultaten från de analyser jag gjort visar, för det första, på att individer med karriärinriktade attityder tenderar att oftare jämför sig med andra inom företaget. Då tidigare forskning (Berg-lund 2003) visat på en koppling mellan karriärinriktade attityder och en individualiserad ar-betssituation finns anledning att vidare studera just kopplingen mellan individualisering och frekvensen av jämförelser. Den andra delen av mina analyser visar att det finns ett samband mellan upplevd orättvisa och frekvensen av jämförelser på så sätt att ju mer man jämför sig desto större är sannolikheten att uppleva orättvisa. Materialet ger även ett visst stöd för att det finns ett direkt samband mellan karriärinriktade attityder och upplevd orättvisa. Detta sam-band förstärks när individen uttryckligen är intresserad av en mer kvalificerad befattning..

The aim for this essay is to adress questions concering ethnic and cultural experiences and in what way it affects our experience of being in different landscapes. By studying how ethnic experiences are expressed in the landscape and the ongoing process of interaction between them, this essay sets out to discuss the significance of cultural aspects in the landscape. The perspective of this essay is that both landscape and ethnicity can be viewed as something constructed which is shaped and maintained by ongoing interactions in the landscape.While examples are taken from different parts of the western world, the main focus is to study how these experiences take place and are being negotiatiated in a particular landscape, an allotment area outside Malmö, Sweden.In the first part it is shown how the landscape can be read as a landscape of powerrelations and how these relations are related to ethnic experiences.In the next chapter the discussion concerns whether we can talk about different ?ethnic landscapes?. Research suggest that the use and perception of the landscape differs among ethnic groups.

This essay research the characteristics of the place-name Kiven?bben (with variation) in the Swedish region of V?sterg?tland, and its possible connection to the fortification term kiven?bb. The purpose is to deepen and nuance earlier brief reaserches made for the subject. The essay uses the theories of the urban planner Kevin Lynch to rule out if it is likely that the places with kiven?bb-names in V?sterg?tland were named after a fortification in the closest area.

There are experiential products that through a digital transformation wholly or partially have taken new place in our everyday lives. Just a few years ago, we had music on CDs, movies on tape and books in bookshelves. In Sweden, we are now facing a transformation when the e-book begins to take place alongside the printed book.This paper focuses on what values play a role in the attitude towards ebooks among a selected group of Swedish book bloggers. A qualitative content analysis was performed on blog posts concerning the ebook from twelve different Swedish book blogs. The posts were then coded into categories and values.

One aim of this thesis has been to trace the driving forces among active members of the Swedish Pensioners? Interest Party (SPI), but also to render how party values and ideas are connected to the concepts of is-sue space, distrust, and New Party Politics (mainly populism). Since there are several pensioners? parties in other countries, my second aim has been to investigate whether the party is a result of a diffusion proc-ess of copying a successful equivalent party; in other words to find out whether a master frame has inspired the forming of a Swedish pension-ers? party. Through interviews and document analysis, I have found seven issue dimensions explaining the motives behind my respondents? engagement in the party.

In 2007 the project with the renewal of the Vasa Park in Stockholm won the Siena Prize. The architects responsible for the project described how they aimed for upgrading the park within its historical framework. Since the project was a renewal and not a restoration of the park, I thought it would be interesting to study how the architects proceeded with this work. The aim of this essay has therefore been to examine how the last renewal of the Vasa Park has chosen to approach the history of the place. To understand the historical development of the park and how the renewal project was carried out, I started with a literature survey consisting of books, the program of the renewal and articles about the project.

Syftet har varit att undersöka om det föreligger ett samband mellan socioekonomisk position och psykisk ohälsa i ålderdomen och om detta samband till någon del kan förklaras av ett samband mellan socioekonomisk position och fritidsaktiviteter. Det har för detta ändamål gjorts ordinala logistiska regressionsanalyser där utbildningens alternativt inkomstens samband med psykisk ohälsa kontrollerats för fritidsaktiviteter. Den beroende variabeln har skapats utifrån befintligt datamaterial från de representativa undersökningarna SWEOLD och LNU. Kombinationen av datamaterial från dessa två undersökningar har möjligjgjort longitudinella analyser. Studiens analyser visade att kulturella aktiviteter och ett generellt rikare fritidsliv förklarade till viss det negativa sambandet mellan utbildning och psykisk ohälsa alternativt inkomst och psykisk ohälsa..

The thesis explores what is meant by multiculturalism in today's Sweden based on burial grounds and funerals in a minor municipality. This is done through an ethnographic case study of the municipality of Vara. The study aims to investigate how multiculturalism looks and is responded to. The study maps which aspects are placed on multiculturalism in a minor municipality and which adaptations and compromises are highlighted. This is done within the framework of theories concerning multiculturalism and social identity, and the result of the empirical case study is presented by applying the theories to the material. From burial places and funerals, social collective and individual identities are analysed based on the social categories of religion/faith/secularity and place belonging, based on the perspectives of rituals and traditions as well as the location of the grave. The study finds that there are several aspects of multiculture in the burial grounds, as multiculture not only includes cultural influences from immigrants but also the different preferences of the local villages, in combination with the development of society, and Sweden in general.
