The climate crisis represents a serious threat to both people and nature and it will exacerbate existing inequalities, especially for women and girls who are most at risk yet have contributed least to the problem. Climate adaptation is critical to addressing the challenges of climate change, and it requires integrating a gender perspective to take into account the specific vulnerabilities faced by women and girls, as highlighted in the Paris Agreement. This study examines the implementation of gender perspectives in Swedish governmental climate change adaptation strategies. By applying a qualitative content analysis to 24 government agencies? action plans, the study investigates how gender equality is addressed in the context of climate change adaptation.

The aim for the study was to examine a harwarder´s (combined harvester-forwarder) productivity when harvesting forest fuel in first thinning stands that contains Lodgepole pine and calculate the economy of the harvesting work and estimate the quality of the thinning . The field study area where located near Arvån, about 15 kilometres south ?east from the city of Lycksele. The field studies were taken place in three different stands. All tree stands had the same tree age, but the tree species combination and the density varied.

En tidigare bortglömd park intill Rosenlunds herrgård i Jönköping påträffades i samband med en georadarundersökning år 2010. Cirka 70 centimeter under mark synliggjordes strukturen av en formträdgård som antas vara anlagd i samband med att herrgården uppfördes omkring 1790. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur Rosenlunds formträdgård kan ha sett ut. Målet är att presentera en illustrationsplan som visar anläggningens karaktär mellan 1700-talets slut och 1800-talet mitt. Grunden för arbetet är en historisk undersökning med litteraturstudier, platsbesök, möten med sakkunniga, jämförelser med samtida anläggningar samt studier av rapporter om Rosenlund.

The empirical data that lies behind this survey comes from field work between 1992 and 1995. This field work represents work I made myself as a sales-man for the company, Malmberg Original Water. The task was to implement the Malmberg mineral water brand on the restaurant market of the South-Swedish area. Our aim was to reach the upper-scale, premium market of restaurants. The mission was successfully completed, and at 1996 we had completed the position as the most exclusively positioned mineral water brand in Skåne (Southernmost Sweden).

Modern forestry management may disadvantage some mykorrhiza forming fungi because; they are dependent on late successions and cannot survive the constantly recurring breaks in the continuity of their host tree. For this study the specie goliatmusseron (Tricholoma matsutake) was chosen to investigate this possibility. In Sweden T. matsutake is found in greatest amounts north of Örnsköldsvik on glacifluvial sandy soils in association with pine trees and reindeer lichens. Seventy two forest stands where the specie previously had been found were studied; 62 in the northern part of Sweden and ten in the southern. Several indicators were studied to find out if these stands have had a continuity of living trees.

Transboundary protected areas are a fairly recent concept that have been increasing in popularity and are increasingly being integrated into large international organizations? environmental policy making. This essay examines the phenomena through the cooperation between two national parks, Parc National des Pyrénées in France and Parque Nacional Ordesa Monte Perdido in Spain. The theoretical framework used in this essay is based upon border theory, focusing on the different factors that influence the behavior of the border dweller and how the different social conceptions of nature influence the way it is managed. The results in this study result from researching published and private documents from the national parks and interviews carried out with staff from the park administrations from both countries.

This report is written on commission by WSP Acoustics. The report studies the outdoor sound levels on school yards in Stockholm. The questions given by the company to be answered was what are the actual sound levels at diffrent school yards with low traffic noise and how can you construct a facade element that reduces the sound level from the outside and meet the indoor requirements. Mesurements for four hours was done at eight schools set north and south of the city centre. The measurement period included one school break and one lunch break.

The aim with our paper has been to get a picture of which factors one of the heterogeneous group that we've chosen of old persons, 75-90 years, in Scania, in south Sweden, have experienced to be of importance for their life quality today and what they wish to preserve of their actual life style when they eventually shall use the elderly care. Also how their individual life course has influenced their experience of the quality of life.We found this subject interesting as the group of old people in the society is constantly increasing and when the group becomes bigger, then greater demands will be put on the elderly care. We have proceeded from a standpoint that all people are unique individuals and that people become what they are from their life histories and from the choices they have made during their life. We have used the life course theory that says that one should see the individual in his/her wholeness and the whole life history of a person in order to understand him/her. We have also studied earlier research concerning the different determinants of the life quality.

The concentration and storage of organic chlorine and chloride were determined in soil, to a depth of 40 cm, in a coniferous forest in the Stubbetorp catchment area in south-east Sweden. Also, the spatial distribution of the two forms of chlorine was determined. Soil samples were collected at 49 of the nodes in a grid with approximately 105 m between the nodes. The analysis of spatial variability suggested that no spatial autocorrelation was present either within the variable organic chlorine or chloride. This means that no sample was more influenced by another nearby sample, as compared to other samples further away.

Denna kandidatuppsats ?Från Söderkåkar till SoFo- En förändring genom gentrifiering och platsmarknadsföring? handlar om hur ett specifikt område, i detta fall SoFo som är en akronym för South Of Folkungagatan beläget mellan gatorna Folkungagatan-Renstiernas gata-Ringvägen samt Götgatan på Södermalm i Stockholm, har utvecklats från att vara ett relativt oattraktivt område till att bli attraktivt genom förändringar i miljöer och fastigheter. Denna förändring är ett begrepp inom bland annat sociologin och innebär att ett område genom detta får en social höjning. Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera förändringen och utvecklingen av SoFo genom gentrifieringsprocessen samt undersöka om denna förändring påverkat att området fått en identitet genom platsmarknadsföring. Frågorna i vår frågeställning fokuserar på om området utmärks av en specifik identitet, samt om denna eventuella identitet skapat en skillnad i konsumtions- och produktionsmönster i SoFo.

The aim of this essay was to study the nitrogen flow in two willowplantations, at different locations in the south of Sweden, that wereirrigated with sewage. The study was also performed to compare thedifferences in nitrogen flows between two years, 1998 and 1999. The studywas made in three parts. First, the denitrification activity was measuredusing the acetylen inhibition method. Second the nitrogen flow, as well asthe water- and heat flows, were modeled through the SOIL-SOILN-modelThird; the nitrogen flow was calculated to compare with the results fromthe model.The results from the measurements were then compared with the resultsfrom the SOILN-simulations to detect differences in the denitrificationrate.

This Master's thesis work was done at SLU, Uppsala, Sweden in cooperation with Upplandsstiftelsen and Uppsala County Council. The studied area is pointed out as an area for EU´s LIFE project, NATURA 2000, concerning the Scarabid beetle Osmoderma eremita. The studied area lies in an agricultural landscape rich on deciduous trees, about 15 km south of Enköping in the County of Uppland. The species is dependent on large, old, hollow trees, which are exposed to sunlight, usually oak trees in this area. I studied the area in detail concerning large old trees (>70cm ø), middle-aged oak trees and young oak trees.

Aphasia is a linguistic impairment which affects communication and may have an impact on a person?s narrative ability. The purpose of the present study was to analyse the narrative ability in aphasia by narrative interviews with people with aphasia and their partners. The interviews were scrutinised for strategies used in joint narration involving couples where one of the spouses has aphasia. The definition of strategies was methods to cope with communicative difficulties often due to aphasia.

Problematiken med alkoholkonsumtionen och berusningsmönstret hos svenska skolungdomar är ständigt i medias övervakning. Syftet med denna rapport har varit att undersöka betydelsen av föräldrars inställning till alkohol och vilken inverkan den har på ungdomars alkoholkonsumtion samt berusningsmönster. Detta är viktigt för kunna att arbeta preventivt mot missbruk och alkoholproblem hos ungdomar.Många tidigare studier visar på att vänner och familj är det som har störst påverkan på ungdomars alkoholkonsumtion. Detta gör att de teoretiska utgångspunkterna som använts i studien behandlar dessa fenomen; den kulturella ansatsen, identitetskapandet samt teorin om social inlärning som sker inom familjen. På grund av avgränsning så fokuserar denna studie endast på hur föräldrarna påverkar alkoholkonsumtionen.Studiens frågeställningar har besvarats genom en statistisk analys av Stockholmsenkäten (från 2008).

Arbetets avsikt var att synliggöra olika fokusområden inom samhällsplaneringen som influerar utformningen av människors närmiljö. Detta arbete framhåller EU:s och Västra Götalandsregionens inverkan på Skövde kommuns stadsplanering. Syftet var att studera Västra Götalandsregionens inflytande över Skövde kommuns stadsplanering med Kyrkparken som exempel. Kyrkparken är en stadspark centralt placerad i Skövdes stadskärna vars resurser utnyttjas sparsamt. I arbetet beskrivs teorier som främjar en långsiktig hållbar samhällsutveckling vilka sedan jämförs med den pågående utvecklingen i Skövde kommun. Vidare analyseras Kyrkparken med syfte att framställa ett utvecklingsförlag Förslaget har som målsättning att integrera utmaningarna identifierade i Skövde kommuns stadsplanering med Kyrkparkens problematik.
