This thesis examines organisations as mediators and how different kinds of organisations have different prerequisites to act as mediators. Global, regional and subregional organisations are often asked to mediate in conflicts, but considering the circumstances, who should mediate?In a mediating process the mediator should be considered as important an actor as the disputing parties and should hence be scrutinized as one. Mediation is a complex subject to study and theoretically the opinions differ on what characterises a good mediator. I have taken many of the different views in consideration and constructed a model from which organisations and their prerequisites can be compared and evaluated.

Dessa strukturella och institutionella förutsÀttningar kommer i denna studie att undersökas för att analysera huruvida AU kan agera som sÀkerhetsaktör.

On the 13th of June 2005 the Minister of Defence, Leni Björklund, was subjected to a formal complaint addressed to the Committee on the Constitution concerning her handling of a specific co-operation project with France. The project concerned the development of a technology demonstrator for an UCAV called Neuron. The reason for the complaint was that the Minister of Defence had failed to present the project to the parliament and thus bypassed a parliamentary decision. Such negligence might be considered unlawful under the Swedish Constitution. The issue became public during an unscheduled meeting with the Committee on Defence, a meeting that was arranged at the request of the Minister of Defence.

The aim of the study was to distinguish if there was a difference between how work is perceived and how unemployed are viewed by people in collectivistic and individualistic cultures. A phenomenological approach was used in order to capture the participants life-worlds and their meaning constitution of a phenomenon, in this case the meaning of work and how unemployed are viewed. Subjects from different parts of the world, belonging to either a collectivistic or individualistic culture, participated in this study. Data was collected by self-reports which were analyzed by the method of MCA (Meaning Constitution Analysis) and the software Minerva. The results indicated that there were differences in how individuals from collectivistic cultures compared to individuals from individualistic cultures reflected about the meaning of work.

The used articles are taken from the time period 2012-11-13 until 2012-11-30 and the questions that this paper is based upon are:How do the tabloid Expressen and the morning newspaper Dagens Nyheter define and diagnose the causes and problems of the iron pipe scandal during the period 2012-11-13 until 2012-11-20?What kind of valuations and solutions does the tabloid Expressen and the morning newspaper Dagens Nyheter provide of the iron pipe scandal during the period 2012-11-13 until 2012-11-30?Does the framing of the iron pipe scandal during the period 2012-11-13 until 2012-11-30 differ between the tabloid Expressen and the morning newspaper Dagens Nyheter?The result of this paper shows that through the tabloid Expressen and the morning newspaper Dagens Nyheter way of framing the Swedish democrats during the period 2012-11-13 until 2012-11-30, the society cannot get another picture of the Swedish Democrats than that they are a right wing populist party..

In 1809 the citizens of Sweden where given the freedom to practice their Christian faith through the Swedish constitution of 1809, 16 §. This proclaimed that there should be religious freedom in Sweden, albeit restricted to Evangelical-Lutheran faith. Although after the law regarding dissenters was passed in 1860 by choosing another church than the Evangelical-Lutheran church you lost some civic rights, for example you could not become a public official. The freedom to choose religious affiliation was given through the Law of Religious Freedom in 1951. The purpose of this study is to evaluate in what way the concept of religious freedom has developed in Swedish law between 1809 and 1951.In the background I treat two historical events and one era, with focus upon religious freedom, which have in my opinion influenced the view of religious freedom in Sweden during the chosen period of 1809?1951.

Först undersöks om UNSOM II passar in i solidaritetsteorin kriterier och dÀrefter förklaras varför. Resultat frÄn ovanstÄende undersökning kommer att ge en bÀttre bild av UNSOM II och hjÀlpa till med att förklara faktorer som kan spela roll om en humanitÀr intervention benÀmns humanitÀr. Materialet som anvÀnds i denna uppsats Àr utvÀrderingar och rapporter frÄn Ären, publicerade av Förenta Nationerna, Amnesty International och Human Rights Watch. Denna studie fann att UNSOM II inte var humanitÀr i relation till solidaritetsteorin, med hÀnsyn till bristen av proportionerlig anvÀndning av vÄld under jakten pÄ Aydid.

The purpose of this paper was to understand internal communication?s critical tradition by studying the interface of the subjective experience and the objective behavior within a management team. During almost two years this group was observed, several semi-structured interviews were conducted and a specific incident was analyzed. The interview texts where analyzed, using the Meaning Constitution Analysis developed by Roger Sages (2010) at Lund University. The observations were summarized in sociograms showing relationships in the organization.

The Swedish rules for marrying in Sweden are different for swedish citizens and foreigners. A swedish citizen has to have permission from"LĂ€nsstyrelsen"to marry before the age of 18 but a foreigner may marry without permission at an age of 15, unless a higher age is required by the foreign law. The main question in this essay is if the swedish international law concerning the age of marriage is compatible with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and/or the Swedish Constitution. The comparison is based on mainly two questions: Primarily the Swedish international law is discussed concerning which marrying age is good for the child. Thereafter it is discussed whether it is discriminating to have different marrying ages for swedish and foreign citizens.

Konflikterna i Somalia respektive Darfur (Sudan) Àr tvÄ av likartad karaktÀr men med olikautfall, i den tidigare initierades och genomfördes en intervention medan i den senare har ensÄdan uteblivit. I fallet Somalia tog det inte lÄng tid innan FN med USA i spetsen hade tagitplats i landet med avsikt att fÄ till stÄnd ett slut pÄ den interna konflikten. Fallet Darfur Àr avlikartad karaktÀr dÀr hundratusentals mÀnniskor redan mist livet och Àn fler drivits pÄ flyktmen till skillnad frÄn Somaliakonflikten har ingen intervention Ànnu initierats. Med bakgrundoch en historisk överblick till konflikternas start görs ett försök att analysera de bÄda utfallen.För att förstÄ situationerna anvÀnder vi oss av fem olika förklaringsvariabler,aktörsperspektiv, system, media, suverÀnitet och intressen. De olika förklaringsvariablerna gertillsammans en sammansatt bild av vilka faktorer som spelar en avgörande roll i huruvida enintervention har goda eller mindre bra förutsÀttningar att bli ett faktum.

Denna c-uppsats handlar om hur de Àldre invandrarnas sociala liv pÄverkas av migrationen samt vilka tankar de har kring sin omsorgssituation. För att fÄ en djupare kunskap och förstÄelse för de Àldre invandrarnas sociala situation samt deras förvÀntan pÄ Àldreomsorgen gjordes en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning med sex Àldre invandrare frÄn Bosnien och Somalia. En jÀmförelse mellan de bÄda grupperna redovisades inom olika teman, umgÀnge, de nÀrstÄende, Äldrandet och hemlÀngtan, omsorgen i det nya landet. Resultaten studerades utifrÄn ett interaktionstiskt perspektiv och den teoretiska kunskapen om socialt nÀtverk och socialt stöd. De bÄda grupperna hade kommit till Sverige pÄ grund av krig i sina hemlÀnder, de hade inte valt att flytta utan blivit tvungna att fly frÄn hemlandet.

The main aim of this study is to investigate which structural ideas that lies behind the European Union?s marine operation Atalanta that has been put into motion to counteract piracy and robbery outside the coast of Somalia. In order to do this, we have with the use of the theory of weak states, intervention as well as sovereignty, investigated EU?s document in the question with the use of the idea centered analytical method. The questions that has guided this study, lies both on an empirical and theoretical level.
