Det här examensarbetet är en marknadsundersökning som IT-tjänstföretaget CGI tagit initiativ till. CGI har uppmärksammat att det finns ett behov av ett handfast verktyg för att förenkla produktionsplaneringen, vilket är bakgrunden till det här examensarbetet. Den strukturella omvandlingen inom sågverksindustrin har medfört ett behov av ett mer kundanpassat sortiment och utvecklingen har medfört ett ökat behov av automatiserade processtyrningar. För att kunna produktionsplanera effektivt, beskrivs det i studien att det finns behov av ett mer långsiktigt planeringsverktyg. Produktionsplanering utförs oftast i ett eller två separata planeringssteg som innebär ett för sågprocessen respektive ett för tork och justering.

Kina har världens största enskilda marknad och en ekonomi vars utveckling de senaste årtiondena haft en utveckling utan motstycke. Den forna planekonomin har lämnat plats för en betydligt liberalare inriktning vilket inom en snar framtid sannolikt kommer att göra Kina till världens största ekonomi. Läggs till detta väldigt låga kostnader för produktion framträder en bild av en marknad med enorma möjligheter för investerare. Faktum är att Kina idag är det främsta målet i världen för utländska direktinvesteringar. Direktinvesteringar kommer dock i olika former och de komplexa förhållanden som råder på den kinesiska marknaden innebär många fallgropar för en utländsk investerare.

This thesis is set out as a testing of the crosscutting cleavages theory on twocontemporary cases. The aim is to test the explanation process of the crosscutting theory applied to the political and social situations in Belgium and Switzerland and furthermore to examine potential conflicts in pluralistic states. Our main questionis: How can the crosscutting cleavages theory explain the different outcomes ofsocial coexistence, even with the states numerous similarities? We have examined the two federal states through their social divisions of language, region, religion and socio-economy. Our findings show that both Belgium and Switzerland possess divisions in the above mentioned variables, which in most cases are cumulative structured.

The purpose of this study was to compare reading development assessments with writing assessments to create an understanding about the relationship between the reading and writing ability of children. Another aim of the study was to look at other factors that cohere with the ability to read and write, such as background and socio-economic status. Our hypothesis was that explicit instruction in writing is necessary to develop good writing skills. We chose to conduct a quantitative study containing an inquiry, a dictation and a writing task. We compared our results with reading assessments based on a reading development schedule (LUS).

För anläggningen av Änglarps Lugn - Sinnenas och hälsans trädgård, en blivande terapiträdgård i byn Änglarp utanför Hässleholm i Skåne har jag utfört ett gestaltningsförslag. Today Europe is faced with an identity crisis concerning its borders. Turkey stands at the threshold for an EU-membership while the EU-Commission is trying to formulate what constitutes a European identity. This identity seeking process will determine the future not only for Turkey, but also for immigrants now living in Europe.In this thesis a discourse analysis, underpinned by socialconstructionist theory, is conducted to explore how the European identity has been constructed throughout history up until today. A starting point is that identity always is defined through a dialectical relationship to "otherness". Therefore the analysis is focused not only on what a European identity consists of but also what and who it excludes.

Antropologer anställs idag av amerikanska försvarsmakten inom Human Terrain System. Denna enhet skall med sin expertiskunskap leverera socio-kulturell data till militära beslutsfattare på högre nivåer. Detta har i USA vållat stor debatt, främst vad gäller den vetenskapsetiska aspekten av projektet. Abstract: Title: Communication of and around internal performance reports - A study in seven manufacturing companies based in Blekinge. Authors: Marcus Harrysson and Mikael Johansson. Course: Bachelor thesis in Business Administration, 10 credits Purpose: Our purpose with the bachelor thesis was to investigate if there is a connection between communication of and around internal performance reports and profitability in companies. Method: Our investigation has been made at seven companies in the county of Blekinge by making personal interviews with people in both production and business departments at each of the companies.

The purpose of our study is to interpret and understand the experiences that parents to multilingual children have towards multilingualism in pre-school. We are also interested in finding out what these parents think about their children?s development in multilingualism both in pre-school and at home. Our study is based on qualitative interviews. We interviewed nine families that have multilingual children in pre-school.  The data we collected from our interviews has been analyzed using socio-cultural and inter-cultural theories along with previous research. The result of our study showed that parents to multilingual children have both positive and negative opinions about the multilingual concept. Most of our informants had positive opinions about multilingualism in general.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur pedagoger nyttjade informations- och kommunikationstekniken (IKT) för att göra skolans undervisning tillgänglig för alla elever samt deras uppfattning om vilken betydelse IKT hade för elevers lärande och måluppfyllelse. Utgångspunkten var de nationella satsningar som gjorts på lärares fortbildning inom området IKT och vilken effekt det gett samt tidigare forskning. Den teoretiska ansatsen grundade sig på ett sociokulturellt lärande. Fyra pedagoger inom olika skolformer intervjuades. Resultatet visade att pedagogerna i första hand associerade IKT med datorer och i synnerhet kopplat till läs- och skrivprocessen.

Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att skapa förståelse för hur en kommun använder sin budget för att styra sin verksamhet samt att undersöka om kommunen använder sig av andra styrverktyg för att komplettera budgeten. Vi samlade in litteratur på Luleå tekniska universitets bibliotek och kompletterade med en fallstudie på Bodens kommun. Vi gjorde två stycken intervjuer, en med kommunens ekonomichef och en med chefen för socialnämnden. Vi fann att den upprättade budgeten i kommunen stämmer överens med den litteratur vi läst om hur budgeten ska upprättas. Dock såg vi att budgeten inte används som ett styrmedel på det sätt som litteraturen beskriver.

This Masters thesis concerns a series of ten police procedural novels, Roman om ett brott, Novel of a crime, by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö. These books are among the most translated Swedish novels and have been popular among audiences and critics all over the world. The books were produced 1965 1975, a period during which a left wing movement swept over the Western world. Besides from being detective stories Novel of a crime is an analysis of contemporary society, and this thesis will focus on the social and political ideas and the criticism expressed in the books. Theories used in this study are the Sociology of Literature and the Analysis of Ideas.

The purpose of this study was to explore students' and teachers' experiences of the new pedagogical teaching tool, interactive whiteboard, which have gained increased popularity and wide spread usage in the classrooms. An observation during a mathematical lecture was conducted as a pilot study prior to the main research method of phenomenology; based on students? self-descriptions and interviews with two teachers, this methodological approach was used to investigate the subject matter. The interpretation, comparison and analysis of the results surrounding this new teaching method is explained by two theories, constructivism and socio-cultural perspective. The information shared by the students and teachers have been broken down into four categories: enjoyment & interest, practical, insight and no different.
