The aim of this study was to examine and analyze the experiences which social workers have of working with relatives of substance abusers. This included examining how they work with relatives who are in need of care and support and how the social workers identify their needs. We have also investigated how well informed the social workers are when it comes to approaches to helping relatives of substance abusers. A qualitative method has been used in this study in order to analyze the experiences of the social workers from a phenomenological point of view. This study was based on six semi-structured interviews.

Syftet med det här arbetet är att ta reda på vad barn i åldrarna 4 och 5 år på en förskola har för tankar om användning av vatten ur perspektivet hållbar utveckling, samt att undersöka vilka dimensioner inom hållbar utveckling som barn på en förskola tar till sig då vi tillsammans genomför övningar inom temat användning av vatten. Eftersom övningarna genomfördes tillsammans med barnen utgår jag från de metoder som används vid aktionsforskning. De undersökningsmetoder som användes var kvalitativa intervjuer och deltagarobservationer. Resultatet visar att barnen som deltagit i undersökningen har tankar om vilket behov av vatten som finns samt tankar om användning av vatten utifrån de ekonomiska, sociala och miljömässiga dimensionerna av hållbar utveckling. This essay aimed to give a basis for the departement of social work in Lund in its task to recruit students from underrepresented parts of the population to the departement and to the university by presenting which social groups are underrepresentated. The research also aimed to give an explanation of how the backgrounds of the student´s have influenced them and lead them to undertake studies of social work. The main questions were: - What background do the students at the departement of social work have as seen from the variables; sex, age, national background, class, parents' educational level, society of childhood and direction of upper secondary school? - How can the background of the students at the departement of social work be explaned by the theories of Pierre Bourdieu? The research was performed with a quantative method based on a questionnaire. The data received by the questionnaire were compared with data of the general students population and of the population of Sweden at large.

The aim of this qualitative study was to explore which inner conceptions about the abused older women the professional social workers had and how they experienced the enconter of an abused old woman in an intimate partner relation. The theoretical background is social construction by Berger and Luckmann. This theory was uset to analyze the transcribed interviews. This study is based on nine interviews with five professionals in social services, three volunteers from the voluntary sector and one social worker who worked in a community based support group for abused older women. The result of this study shows that older women were often abused, by a relative they were dependent on, in their home.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att fördjupa kunskaperna inom barnens grovmotoriska utveckling, där litteraturgenomgången lyfter fram miljöns påverkan för motorisk utveckling, konsekvenser inom motorisk träning samt motorisk utveckling utifrån ett holistiskt (utveckling utifrån helheten) synsätt. Syftet med undersökningen är att studera eventuella skillnader och likheter i pedagogers arbete, då vi ställer icke profilerade pedagoger gentemot pedagoger som arbetar på profilerade förskolor inom friskvård, simning samt idrott. Vi har intervjuat tio pedagoger där undersökningen har handlat om hur pedagogerna ser på grovmotoriken och hur de lägger upp verksamheten för att främja barnens grovmotoriska utveckling. Resultatet har visat bland annat att de profilerad pedagogerna har fler planerade lärandesituationer som utvecklar barnens grovmotorik och rörelsen har ett större inslag i deras verksamhet..

Att känna sig delaktig i samhället har samband med individens upplevda hälsa. En strategi för att få individen att känna sig delaktig i samhället är skapandet av stödjande miljöer. Denna studies teoretiska utgångspunkt är socialt kapital där ett socialt deltagande anses påverka hälsan positivt. Tidigare studier med socialt kapital är många gånger kvantitativa och det saknas forskning på gruppen unga vuxna. Syftet med denna studie är att belysa unga vuxnas erfarenheter av frivilligt arbete för att öka förståelsen för hur frivilligt arbete kan bidra till att skapa en stödjande miljö för hälsan.

The use of social media in three libraries in the Umeå region ? an evaluationSocial media has come to be an integral part of people?s everyday life, as well as the business world in terms of communication and marketing. More and more libraries also embark in the use of social media, and the purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of social media in three libraries in the Umeå region. The libraries all use Facebook as their current, primary social media. Thus this study focuses partly on the analysis of the content on each library?s Facebook page, and partly on the experiences of the responsible librarians. The evaluation is based on a mix of existing tools in evaluating social media that are relevant in a library context.

Den här studien utgår ifrån en dokumentanalys med syftet att undersöka på vilket sätt socialpedagogik tar sig uttryck i Socialstyrelsens rapport om utredningssystemet BBIC, Barns behov i centrum. Centrala begrepp för studien är socialisation och inklusion och det är även utifrån dessa vår frågeställning utgår ifrån. Undersökningen är gjord med hjälp av en riktad kvalitativ innehållsanalys med ett socialpedagogiskt perspektiv som tolkningsram. I vårt material fann vi två kategorier för inklusion och två för socialisation. Kategorierna för inklusion är Med barnet i fokus, där vikten av barnet som en central del i allt som rör barnet betonas, och Delaktighet, där innehållet tar upp vikten av människors deltagande i barnavårdsärenden och i samhällets olika system.

The overall purpose of this essay was to provide a better understanding of the importance of discretion for social workers in direct social services. To answer the purpose three questions were formulated: (1) How do social workers define and describe their discretion and their ability to independently accomplish their work? (2) How do social workers experience that workplace organization, policies and economic conditions interact with their discretion and (3) How do social workers experience that the interaction with the client can affect how they use their discretion in the individual case? The method used was qualitative interviews. The theoretical framework was Michael Lipskys (1980) Street-level bureaucracy and the four themes organization, professional role, skills and interaction.The results showed that the respondents, although they did not consider themselves to be affected by the economy still adapted to budget restrictions when they said that they were cost conscious in their work. This adjustment to budget framework could possibly be what made them not feel limited in their work.

Syftena med denna uppsats är att lyfta fram och beskriva aspekter av varför några pedagoger på en särskola arbetar med att utveckla elevernas sociala kompetens samt beskriva hur de går tillväga. Ett ytterligare syfte är att undersöka vilka sociala färdigheter pedagogerna anser eleverna vara i behov av att utveckla och i vilka sammanhang de blir viktiga. Frågeställningarna fokuserar på vilken innebörd pedagogerna tillskriver begreppet social kompetens och vilka sociala färdigheter som kan anses vara viktiga att utveckla hos särskoleeleverna samt vilka undervisningsmetoder som används för detta ändamål. Ytterligare en frågeställning behandlar i vilka sammanhang social kompetens kan bli viktigt för eleverna.Studien är av kvalitativ karaktär där intervjuer var den huvudsakliga metoden vilken kompletterades med observationer. Vår uppsats är en fallstudie där intentionen har varit att nå en djupare förståelse kring ett specifikt ämne.Resultatet visar att pedagogerna tillskriver begreppet social kompetens innebörder som samspel, empati, självhävdelse, självkontroll, kommunikation och som ett mått på samhällets normer.
