Uppsatsens ämne berör karaktärer i tv-serien Downton Abbey och deras förhållande till kläder. Tre karaktärer jag tolkar som konservativa ställs i kontrast till tre karaktärer som i högre grad förespråkar moderniteten. Genom att jämföra hur karaktärerna via kläder medvetet och omedvetet gestaltar sin syn på samhällsutvecklingen undersöker jag hur stora likheter som framkommer mellan dem. Syftet är att analysera hur individens samhällssyn gestaltas genom kläderna. Analysen utförs med en metod inspirerad av ikonografi där nyckelscener från serien betraktas utifrån en rent beskrivande vinkel såväl som i relation till samtida kontexter.

  Aim. The aim of the study was to describe how nurses in home care experience to pursue palliative care in ordinary housing. Methods. The study had a descriptive design with qualitative approach and was carried out through semi-structured interviews with 14 nurses in home health care from two medium-sized Swedish municipalities. The material was analyzed with manifest and latent content analysis. Findings. The underlying theme that emerged in the study was: Working with palliative care in the patient´s own homes is positive but challenging. Informants describe among other things that they perceived palliative home care as meaningful and that relatives have a central role in the palliative home care since they are close to the patient around the clock. The stress that emerges from the heavy work load and the long geographic distances are described as strenuous and to affect the care in a negative way. Informants describe the home environment as challenging as it is often not adapted for care and the collaboration with the palliative team is described to be experienced as both positive and negative.

For many years, there has been a housing shortage in Sweden. Many have been expecting a construction boom in the housing sector, but that has yet to arrive. With the current legislations and guidelines surrounding modern, energy efficient housing; production costs have increased dramatically in recent years. As a result, having a negative effect on housing production despite the high demand for homes.This exam work is carried out on a construction project of Sjötorpshus AB and its purpose is to evaluate how to optimise the construction process for the production of a new residential settlement, "Kv.Hunden", located in Katrineholm. In an interview with the company's MD, Pär Knutsson, four main issues were defined to focus on.

Detta är ett examensarbete som undersöker barns och vuxnas tankar kring barns rum, med frågan:Hur skulle barns rum utformas om barnen fick bestämma och hur tänker barnens föräldrar om utformningen?Syftet med undersökningen är att belysa barns rum hemma. Med utgångspunkt i drömrum och genom designpedagogiska workshops med vuxna och barn, undersöks miljön som skapas i barns rum och på så sätt kan också en barnrumsdiskurs utkristalliseras. I förlängningen kan denna undersökning ge ny insikt i hur vi ordnar rum för barn och låter barn vara medskapare av miljö. Det är viktigt att betona att det bara är en barnrumsdiskurs bland många.

Ursprunget till detta projektarbete är det rådande informationssamhälle vi nu befinner oss i. Detta innebär förändringar rörande både kontorsutformning och arbetssätt. Examensarbetet har gjorts för Martela AB. Martela är Finlands största tillverkare av möbler för offentliga miljöer och fann idén med framtida kontorsförvaring intressant. De har själva utfört projekt inom området, samt ser stundande förändring på de svenska kontoren.

Livskvalitet är ett ord som används i flera olika sammanhang och än finns ingen övergripande definition av begreppet. Vad livskvalitet är för äldre råder det också delade meningar och få studier har undersökt äldres upplevelse av sin livskvalitet. I Sveriges bor cirka 16% av de över 80 år i särskilt boende och många åtgärder görs för att förbättra deras livskvalitet. Arbetets syfte var att undersöka och sammanställa befintlig kunskap om upplevelsen av livskvalitet hos äldre i Nordiska särskilda boende och metoden som användes var en systematisk litteratur-studie av kvalitativa artiklar. Åtta artiklar inkluderades och resultatet tolkades att kunna beskrivas utifrån fem kategorier: Trygghet kontra otrygghet, oberoende kontra beroende, respekt kontra brist på respekt, inre miljö kontra yttre miljö och gemenskap kontra ensamhet.

Aim: The aim of this study was to explore the care providers' experiences in enabling communionship and solitude in daily living for elderly living in old age homes in a South African context. Method: This study was done using a qualitative analysing method, with empirical data obtained from nursing staff of elderly. The study was phenomenological which aims at deepen the understanding of human experiences as phenomenon. The data was collected by using a groupinterview which included five informants from an old age home in Pretoria. The analysis included two steps; Naive reading and structural analysis in order to transform the individual elucidations into an abstract which had no individual touch.

Smarta elnät är en av lösningarna för att uppnå EUs klimatmål den s.k. 20-20-20-satsningen. Klimatmålen innefattar bl.a. ökad energiproduktion från förnybara energikällor och ökad energieffektivisering, detta anses nödvändigt för att hindra den globala uppvärmningen samt uppnå en bättre och mer hållbar framtid. Den elektriska energins svaghet är den begränsade möjligheten till effektiv och storskalig lagring. Eftersom den förnybara energin har en väderberoende produktion ska smarta elnät hjälpa konsumenten att styra energikonsumtionen efter hur energiproduktionen varierar.

We are more aware than ever about our impact on the common environment and the world's population. Consumption awareness can be one way to take social and environmental responsibility. This study aims to examine young adults' (19-30 years) attitudes toward consumption awareness in Sweden. Consumption awareness is treated in this study as the consumption of environmental and fair-trade labeled products that have been certified of a third party. The study is limited to everyday commodities, which in this case is groceries, household consumables and clothing.

The study is a case study about the green urban district, East Kvillebäcken, located in Gothenburg, Hisingen. East Kvillebäcken is the first urban district in Sweden with ambition to build sustainable according to the certification system Miljöbyggnad, which make it a pioneer project. The purpose is to investigate the upcoming and the meaning of the green urban district in East Kvillebäcken and show how public employees think the urban district can affect social, ecologic and economic aspects in the area. Dialogue interviews were done with four public employees, one estate agent and two residents. Local plans and other authority documents were used to get a deeper understanding for the case study.

Due to progresses constantly being made in veterinary medicine combined with increasing knowledge in pet owners, the dogs of today gets older than before. The population of geriatric dogs is there for constantly growing, which makes them an important group of patients on small animal clinics and hospitals. As dogs age, so do their interior organs. Geriatric dogs are prone to several diseases and in this text the author has decided to focus on three of the most common: Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS), cancer and osteoarthritis (AO). All of these illnesses are incurable in dogs, but it is important to remember that they are still treatable.

Crowdsourcing is when a group of people is challenged to solve a problem for a company or to generate solutions and innovative ideas in exchange for compensation. A key issue is the question of what motivates individuals to participate in crowdsourcing.

This report describes the master thesis project ?Weight Optimization of a Composite Chassis for a Multimodal Lightweight Vehicle? which is a part of the Master program in Naval Architecture and a part of a research project at the Centre for Naval Architecture, KTH. Demands on smart and energy efficient transport solutions are continuously increasing. In the Stockholm region the citizens are expected to increase with 25% and the road vehicles with 80% until 2030, putting high demands on the traffic system. Using a small multimodal vehicle deals with this problem and uses both the land and waterways for transportation.

Undersökningens syfte är att utifrån en diskursteoretisk ansats beskriva och analysera bakgrunden till Norrköpings folkparks tillkomst samt folkparksstyrelsens uppfattning om den ideale besökaren under slutet av 1800-talet. Granskningen görs med utgångspunkt från frågorna: med vilka argument resonerade folkparkens styrelse att parken skulle byggas, vad kan man utifrån denna argumentation utläsa om folkparkens funktion och vem var den ideale besökaren enligt folkparksstyrelsen? De resultat som framkommit vid analysen bör ses som tolkningar gjorda utifrån Foucaults teorier om disciplinering och makt.Folkparken var under slutet av 1800-talet en social arena för disciplinering av arbetare. Folkparkens utformning i kombination med tillkomsten av ordningsregler och övervakning kan i det här sammanhanget bl.a. ses som ett led i arbetet med att förändra besökarnas beteende.

Background and aim: The number of refugees and unaccompanied children are increasing in Sweden and these people belong to one of the groups that are at higher risk for developing suicidal behavior. At the same time the lack of research on the subject is mentioned several times by different sources. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate suicidal behavior among young refugees between the ages 13 to 18 years in Sweden, from personnel experiences in social services.Method: We have chosen a qualitative approach with seven narrative interviews that each lasted for about one hour and were recorded. The interview guide was semi structured. The respondents in this study consist of one student counselor, workers from two child psychiatry departments and four different residential care homes for unaccompanied children and young persons.Results and conclusions: The respondents had the understanding that young refugees have been through a lot, lost their families and experienced difficult traumas and a tough refuge.
