This thesis is about the idea of public transport and the discussions stirred in the media during changes in ownership. More specifically it is a study of the historical situation of Stockholm, Sweden, where the periods chosen are the 1910s, 1960s and 1990s.During the 1910s Stockholm?s first and largest tram company was taken over by thecity, and a period of public ownership began, which in the 1960s changed form whenthe county council took over the city?s principal authority and formed the politicallyadministered company SL (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, Greater Stockholm LocalTransit Company). Between these periods the word kollektivtrafik (public transport)was established in the Swedish language. This study describes and compares the ideasconcerning the phenomenon of public transport.The aim of the study is to analyse the ideas, values and ideals concerning public transport in the media, defined as newspapers.

Bakgrund: Barns upplevelse av sm?rta ?r komplext och p?verkas av b?de fysiologiska och k?nslom?ssiga faktorer. Postoperativ sm?rta hos barn kan uttryckas p? olika s?tt beroende p? ?lder, vilket g?r sm?rtbed?mning och sm?rtbehandling en utmaning. Tidigare forskning beskriver barns postoperativa sm?rta som underbehandlad.

Ordningsstörande kring allsvensk fotboll, frÀmst i Stockholm har lÀnge varit ett problem för samhÀllet. I samband med dessa matcher begÄs skadegörelse, misshandel och ordningsstörningar i hög utstrÀckning och en allsvensk fotbollsmatch kan kosta uppemot 600 000 kronor. Syftet med denna rapport Àr att belysa de skyldigheter som polisen har i frÄga om den allmÀnna ordningen och sÀkerheten kring allsvenska fotbollsmatcher i Stockholm. Vidare vill vi ta reda pÄ om polisens utbildning Àr tillrÀcklig för att de ska klara av detta pÄ ett bra sÀtt. Vi valde att intervjua yttre kommissarie Anders Sigurdsson vid Operativa avdelningen i Stockholm med anledning av att han Àr ansvarig för planering av insatser kring allsvenska fotbollsmatcher i Stockholm.

I denna uppsats studeras placeringen av svenska filmproduktionsbolag. Eftersom majoriteten av de svenska filmproduktionsbolagen förlagt sig i Stockholm, trots att hÀlften av all svensk lÄngfilm produceras i VÀstra Götalandsregionen, studeras de olika spatiala förutsÀttningarna för filmproduktionsbolag förlagda pÄ dessa bÄda platser. Den övergripande frÄgestÀllningen rör varför majoriteten av svenska filmproduktionsbolag Àr placerade i Stockholm. Det empiriska materialet har samlats in genom intervjuer med filmproduktionsbolag, filmföretag och samproducenten Film VÀst. Baserat pÄ klusterteorier kring lokalt surr, globala pipelines och temporÀra kluster, har materialet analyserats.

During spring 2007, I Matilda Lindblom, undertook my Bachelor Degree project in Furniture Design. The supervisors were Agneta Stake at Nola in Stockholm and Leo JĂłhannsson, teacher and examiner at Carl Malmsten CTD in Stockholm.The project was based on three elements:? Cooperate together with a producer for professional supervision? Learn to work from a given design brief.? To learn more about industrial production? Learn more about furniture for public areasI contacted a furniture producer called Nola AB, in Stockholm, who became my work partner during this project. The asked me to design a piece of furniture where you can sit and work with a laptop on. The target was for public areas, for example in parks, malls, or at airports.In cooperation with Nola, my ambition was to develop this piece of furniture that was the answers on their wishes and demands.

In light of the massive property bubbles that have been bursting in the USA, Spain and Ireland during the last decade, the aim of this thesis is to clarify whether ? or to what degree - the municipality of Stockholm might experience a property bubble in the near future. The municipality of Stockholm is undergoing a housing shortage and house prices have risen during the last few years. Neoliberalism and property bubbles are used as a theoretical framework in this paper. The methodology consist of semi structured interviews, analysis of documents and statistical data from Eurostat, Valueguard and the Swedish administrative authority; Statistiska centralbyrÄn (SCB).

Medieval glasses have for long been a neglected object group in archeological research in Sweden. With that in mind I choose to write about those in my essay. The aim of this paper is to bring the medieval glasses into the archaeological research. I intend to show where you can find medieval glass in Sweden and what kind of glasses have been made. I will also discuss why the archeological research is so limited when it comes to the medieval drinking glasses.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how preschool pedagogues in Stockholm and in Tornedalen speak about and relate to creative activities. By qualitative interviews in two geographically distant areas, one minority culture and one majority culture, I have collected information from six pedagogues, three in each area. Values in, and the significance of culture in creative activities have been the main focus. From this study I conclude that all pedagogues agreed upon the creative activity having an extensive role in the preschool work. The role of the individual pedagogue within the creative activity is multiple and dependent on where, when and how the activity is carried out.

During my practical training I have seen what after-school offers children. Large groups of children and little staff, often results in that the children had to play freely until they go home. Few activities are offered to the children and the staff is busy looking after the children and ensures that they are not fighting.The purpose of this study is to find out how children feel about their leisure activities and if they think they are being offered a meaningful leisure. The main research questions were:How do children experience their leisure-time?Do after-school offers children a meaningful leisure and is it the children's interests and needs that govern the activities and the environment?How do the number of children in the leisure group affect the leisure time?The methods to collect data in the study are observations and interviews.

Northeast Stockholm is a region developing fast. There is already a great need for new transport solutions for the people commuting to the city, since long queues slow down car traffic and the local railway, Roslagsbanan, needs to be upgraded to attract more travelers. The competitive advantage of rail?traffic over the car when it comes to greenhouse gases and air pollutants is another reason to develop Roslagsbanan.This report investigates the differences between car and train to create a basis for a proposed expansion of Roslagsbanan. Once the proposal is presented, costs, emissions reductions and public benefits are analyzed.

KORTFATTAD SAMMANFATTNING Bristen pÄ spÄrkapacitet genom centrala Stockholm har lÀnge varit ett stort problem och om ingen förbÀttring sker, vÀntas situationen bli ohÄllbar. I uppsatsen undersöks de underliggande maktstrukturerna i planeringsprocessen genom en fallstudie av Citybanan som Àr en sex kilometer lÄng pendeltÄgstunnel i Stockholm. Temat för uppsatsen Àr stora planeringsprojekt, dÀr utgÄngspunkten Àr överskridelser av tidsramar och kostnader. Ett sÀtt att undvika detta Àr att göra tillförlitliga prognoser. För att ÄskÄdliggöra strukturerna i beslutsprocessen tillÀmpas en narrativ metod, dÀr kronologi anvÀnds för att förtydliga hÀndelseförloppet runt Citybanan.

Since the beginning of 2007 Stockholm Resilience Centre has produced scientifictransdisciplinary research in the subjects of sustainability and resilience. There is a highambition to communicate the results of the research to key stakeholders. One of the targetgroups is policy makers, because the mission identifies this group as important when reachingfor the main goal (vision) of the research institute. The media of choice is an e-newsletterwith the latest resilience research produced within Stockholm Resilience Centre. It is at thesame time an opportunity to bring forth the organisations objective connected with the vision.The newsletter is studied in the light of marketing communication with the purpose to clarifythe needs of policy makers, examine the limits and possibilities of the media and theorganisational aspects with the intention to give guidelines concerning the development of thenewsletter.

The concept of planetary boundaries was introduced in the year 2009 by a group ofresearchers led by Johan Rockström and Will Steffen. The group presented a draft of thelimits of the planet regarding nine Earth System processes concerning climate change, oceanacidification, stratospheric ozone depletion, atmospheric aerosol loading, interference with Pand N cycles, global freshwater use, land-system change, rate of biodiversity loss andchemical pollution. The starting point for the study presented in this report was that asustainable development only can be achieved if humankind stays within the boundaries. It istherefore, based on the ongoing urbanization, relevant to evaluate how cities affect the EarthSystem processes. The aim of the study was to investigate if Stockholm Royal Seaport (NorraDjurgÄrdsstaden), a district in the northeast of Stockholm with a clear environmental profile,affects the Earth System processes less than Stockholm in general does.

En förutsÀttning för att kunna attrahera denna grupp Àr att veta vad de anser viktigt vid val av arbetsplats.SyfteUppsatsens syfte Àr att undersöka olika variabler som pÄverkar arbetsval hos kreativa arbetstagare, med avgrÀnsning till dem som varit eller Àr anstÀllda vid reklambyrÄer i Stockholm, samt att undersöka vilka variabler som skulle kunna fÄ denna grupp att övervÀga att arbeta pÄ en reklambyrÄ utanför Stockholm.MetodUndersökningen utfördes genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med tolv respondenter, vilka samtliga hade minst tvÄ Ärs erfarenhet som strateg eller kreatör vid en reklambyrÄ i Stockholm samt varit tillgÀngliga för intervju mellan den 6 november och den 27 december 2007.ResultatResultatet i utredningen beskriver mÄlgruppens uppfattning gÀllande variabler som pÄverkar val av arbetsplats. I slutsatserna diskuteras vad utredningens resultat innebÀr för en reklambyrÄ som arbetsgivare. Utredningen visar pÄ att det för byrÄer utanför Stockholm kan bli svÄrt att rekrytera mÀnniskor som byggt upp sin karriÀr i StockholmsomrÄdet och hunnit rota sig dÀr.
