Skeppsteknik : en studie om teknikutveckling hos skepp i Medelhavet

Techniques used in the building of a number of Ships from the Mediterranean will be presented in this paper. The two techniques thnat will be discussed are shell-based technique and skeleton-basedtechnique. An attempt to clearify and delineate the transition between these two techniques will be made. The possible reasons for transition will then be described and discussed. The development ofthe techniques is going to be identified with help from four wrecks by analyzing their edge joineriesand this facts will be used as a basis for a chronological presentation.

This is a review over decisions taken by the authorities. In this report I have studied purchases made between 2008 and 2010.

In this bachelor thesis an attempt is made to recreate the shoreline of Gotland during the Bronze Age. This has been done with the help of GIS to analyze remains dated to different periods of the Bronze Age that have been situated close to the coast. Case studies of three areas of the island have been made where dated remains together with typical Bronze Age remains like cairns and Ship settings are analyzed with variables such as height over sea level and geological and topographical information. Contemporary datings from each case study have been compared to find a possible shoreline for both early and late Bronze Age. Two shorelines, one for the early Bronze Age and one for the late Bronze Age, have been created and tested on the three areas to see the placement of the remains in relation to these coastlines..

Examensarbetets målsättning var att studera de materialrörelser som uppkommer i direkt anslutning till stranden genom påverkan av fartygsvågor. "Ska han inte gira snart?" : - En fallstudie om tillämpningen av regel 17 vid skärande kurser

Syftet med denna studie är att granska hur man som nautiker skall framföra sitt fartyg med hänsyn tagen till säkerheten och sjövägsreglerna i en korsande situation där ett väjningsskyldigt fartyg inte väjer. Vi genomförde en fallstudie bestående av en simulatorövning för ovetande styrmän och semistrukturerade intervjuer med nautiker från Stena Line, Scandlines och Wallenius. Genom att testa intervjurespondenternas lösningar i fartygssimulatorn på Sjöbefälsskolan i Kalmar kom vi fram till för- och nackdelar med olika sätt att agera. Vi har fått en ökad förståelse för hur sjövägsreglerna bör tillämpas i korsande situationer som vi vill att läsaren ska kunna tillgodogöra sig genom att läsa vårt arbete. Styrmännen som intervjuades berättade att de upplever att det är vanligt med fartyg som inte följer sjövägsreglerna..

Beckholmen : Varv & Marina

A new Shipyard on the island of Beckholmen consisting of a new Ship hall and complementary workshops. The program is extended with rentable industrial space for other smaller companies to take advantage of synergies with the yard and to create an active maritime cluster around Beckholmen. By building a marina and a port at the northern shoreline of the island the Shipyard can expand their potential customers to non-commercial and larger recreational boats that are becoming increasingly common in Skärgården. The port is also supplemented with a combined naval fuel station, harbor office and a small café. The boat traffic in the region gets a additional stop at the end of the port and act as an additional gateway to Djurgården. Several small retail spaces with direct access to the water is created along the promenade between the port and Djurgården. The Shipyard gets a modern and efficient industry building, while the island is made available to the public again, and Beckholmen will hopefully take an equal place in the city's consciousness as it does visually in the inlet to Stockholm..

Mellan vattenspeglar och bebyggelse : En studie av innerstadens kajer i Stockholm

Denna uppsats behandlar innerstadens kajer i Stockholm. Syftet är att analysera hur innerstadens kajer fungerar som offentliga rum och hur de uppfattas av stadens invånare. Källmaterialet består till stor del av plandokument samt av intervjuer med både tjänstemän och stadens invånare.  En fallstudie vid en av innerstadens kajer har genomförts för att på ett tydligare sätt förstå kajernas dynamik. Resultaten från uppsatsen visar att planeringen kring kajområdena är splittrad och uppdelad mellan många olika instanser. Denna uppdelning tycks ge kajerna dess fysiska och psykiska utseende som antingen uppskattas eller ogillas av stadens invånare.

Kampen om Piteå handelshamn 1950 - 1973 : från lokal stadshamn till nationell handelshamn

Survey's purpose is to illustrate why and how the process happened when Piteå relocated its commercial port away from Skuthamn to the new construction on Haraholmen 1950-1973. How decision-makers worked to achieve their goals, how the work changed and what incentives motivated them to act. The results showed that the decision was taken not to retain the existing commercial port in large part due to Skuthamns physics attributes, which made it impossible to Ship large deep vessels from there. The reason that the decision about the port took such a long time was due to a local political conflict which was based on interest in the ownerShip of Haraholmen. The reason for the location of the trading port became Haraholmen had political backgrounds.
