Trafikanalys för Chalmers Campus Johanneberg - ? att ställa framtidens behov mot dagens miljökrav

At this point seamen have a lot of tasks of administrative character, beyond the traditional tasks aboard a Ship. Due to the new conventions that are formed by IMO, more requirements are added which often lead to time consuming administrative tasks and documentation that should be spent on activities which are contributing to the Ships safety. The issue has been observed by IMO that has through BIMCO done a study with the aim to identify and reduce administrative burdens at sea.The primary aim of this study is to find out if safety officers aboard Swedish ferries consider that SOLAS Chapter III, 8.3 och 19.5 regulations are administrative burdens, restricted to muster lists and documentation of training aboard the Ship. The secondary questions to the study are if it is possible to remove, combine or change the documents and how much time can be saved by doing this. The question about timesaving could not be answered, because the values were scattered and could not be used for further investigation. The observed values were accumulated by a survey and the result indicated that safety officers did not experience the two regulations as administrative burdens.

To determine the students? views and visions, interviews were conducted with graduating students at the maritime academies in Sweden. The results show that the reduced Swedish merchant fleet worries students, but that the majority is positive about finding a job after graduation.

Detta ämne är aktuellt då det figurerat tv-program såsom Kustbevakarna som visat hur alkoholpåverkade människor tagits om hand av Kustbevakningens personal (www.kanal5.se). Konstruktion av infästning till dysa

The goal of this thesis is to design an attachment between a duct and a pod. A pod is what could be compared to an outboard engine for larger vessels. The pod is placed on the outside of the Ship?s hull and can rotate 360 ?. A duct is a large steel ring that can be placed around the propeller on the pod to increasethe propulsion force of the Ship in lower velocities.

Parallel Registration of Ships

In present there is no Swedish legislation regulating bareboat registration of Swedish Ships. Despite this absence however Shipowners with vessels already registered in the Swedish Vessel Register do not hesitate to take advantage of the positive aspects of bareboat registration and thereby allowing the registration of their Ships in another State as well. The fact that there is a lack of legislation in this area has left a legal loophole resulting in Swedish Ships being registered in a second State without any regulation providing options or protection for the different parties involved. With this as a background, the main objective of this thesis is to analyze parallel registration of Ships, its consequences and the future of dual registration in Sweden. To fulfil this objective another aim is to impart a collected legal and economical presentation of the problems that may occur when a bareboat chartered vessel is registered in two different States simultaneously.

Kubakrisen : En tidningsstudie om svenska morgontidningars rapportering kring krisen

AbstractKubakrisen; En tidningsstudie om svenska morgontidningars rapportering kring krisen The Cuban Missile Crisis; A media study of Swedish morning papers reporting about the crisis The purpose of the survey is to illustrate how four Swedish newspapers, Svenska Dagbladet, Göteborgs Handels- och Sjöfartstidning, Dagen and Ny Dag reports about the Cuban missile crisis based on the questions. The survey highlights what distinguishes the morning papers and by how they take the position of the Ship blockade against Cuba that United States issued and what position they take on who to blame in the conflict, but also how leaders Khrushchev, Kennedy and Castro portrayed. The study is based on the basis of a newspaper study and theory of priming serves as an instrument for the collection of materials. The survey results show in the first issue of how the papers stand to US Ship blockade, which SvD endorses, while GHT and Ny Dag condemns it and Dagen stand in the middle without any real position. Previous studies treated SvD stance during the Cold War, shows that during the Vietnam War in 1965 SvD was very critical of the USA and their involvement. In this study, regarding the Cuban missile crisis, SvD are most clearly pro-US while Ny Dag accuse and highlights strong criticism of the United States. As for Chrusjtjov, Kennedy and Castro, the survey shows that three out of four newspapers writes about a surprised Chrusjtjov, who had gone too far and a Kennedy who are determined and implacable.

Omkonservering av Vattendr?nkt L?der Analys och Metodutveckling f?r Vasaskeppets L?derartefakter

In the collections of the Vasa Museum, 100 leather objects have exhibited salt precipitations. The objects, that have previously been impregnated with PEG, have become deteriorated and fragmented due to the precipitations. During a previously conducted study it was established that the precipitations consisted of iron and sulphur. However, it was not established whether they occurred in the leather?s inner structure and no treatment plan was developed.

The Ship was taken out of serviceand was sold to Björn Magndahl who rebuilt it to a yacht. The project was conducted partly by developing the existing systems, partly bydocumenting the work by means of electrical blue prints. Except the alarm systems, aninstallation of the frequency control unit for the bow thruster was installed. The installation was working fine and the outcome of the documentation was handedover in a form of a binder during the test drive of the systems and the assignment wasapproved..
