With an estimated 250 ethnic groups, Nigeria, no doubt, has been grappling with the problem of pluralism of ethnic nationalities. It is not news in Nigeria that extreme ethnic consciousness of its citizens has led to the victimization of one ethnic group by another. This victimization has come in the form of exclusions in the distribution of both wealth and power in the country.Amidst all the exclusions, the unity of the country has been ironically regarded as sacrosanct, and should not be negotiated. It is often said that fate brought all the ethnic nationalities in order to form one great country. I subscribe to this belief that fate brought us together for the above purpose, especially now that several countries around the world are merging in one way or the other to form a formidable force to reckon with both politically and economically.

This study aimed at supplementing the Swedish National Agency for Education?s (Skolverket) study (2006) I enlighet med skolans värdegrund? which investigated whether textbooks in various school subjects went against the fundamental values in the curricula Lpf94 and Lpo 94. Due to this study?s supplementing intention, this study uses a similar title as Skolverket. By adding a new subject (Swedish) to Skolverket?s study, this study also strived to show how discrimination might be present in other subjects than the ones Skolverket involved in their study.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om hur rapporteringen om registrerat partnerskap och könsneutralt äktenskap i svensk dagspress såg ut under perioden 1 januari till 31 mars 1995 respektive 1 maj till 31 juli 2009. Genom att jämföra hur samkönade relationer, äktenskap och familjebildning gestaltas i texterna under de båda tidsperioderna, har syftet varit att undersöka huruvida rapporteringen har förändrats i riktning mot en mer tolerant diskurs. Studiens frågeställningar rör bland annat förekomsten av olika former av uttryck för diskursiv diskriminering i texterna samt andelen positiva/negativa uttalanden.Studien utgår från ett socialkonstruktionistiskt perspektiv, och betraktar de dagliga medierna som betydelsefulla agenter när det gäller att befästa eller utmana diskurser om vad som betraktas som normalt avseende olika sociala grupper.341 artiklar i svensk dagspress har undersökts med hjälp av kvantitativ innehållsanalys. Tjugo artiklar har också valts ut för en kritisk diskursanalys baserad på Norman Faircloughs modell och Kristina Boréus typologi över diskursiv diskriminering.Resultatet visar att negativa uttalanden om samkönade relationer inte är lika vanliga 2009 som de var 1995, och att representationerna har förändrats i riktning mot en större mångfald när det gäller könsfördelning såväl som olika former av sexuell orientering. Samma mönster kan ses när det gäller negativ andrafiering och förslag som pekar mot negativ särbehandling av samkönade par, vilka inte är lika vanliga 2009 som de var 1995.

The aim of this study is to describe the variation in two teachers perceptions of their work with individual developments. The study begins with a review of the Swedish National Agency for Education?s guidelines for working with individual developments. With this I want to give the reader an insight into the teachers working conditions and the responsibilities the school authorities have against their students. Using phenomenography, I have examined the differences between two mathematic teacher?s perceptions in working with individual developments for student?s in need of special education.   My questions are: How do mathemathic teachers perceive their work with individual developments? What support and what information do the teacher?s feel that they have been given in order to use individual developments as a tool? How do the teachers perceive that their work situation has influenced their work with individual developments? The two teachers I have interviewed showed different perceptions both in how they understood the guidelines for working with individual developments and how they chose to work with them.

Jordan is a developing country and there are ten Palestine refugee camps throughout Jordansince the Arab-Israel conflict in 1948 and the Arab-Israel war in 1967. The camps are run byUnited Nation Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)which is the main provider of health care in the camp. Today, the fourth generation ofrefugees lives in the camps which are extremely overpopulated. The social and economicconditions in the camps are poor. The nurses' workload in the Health care centre in the campis getting harder and UNRWA's resources are getting strained due to funding shortfalls.

Local participation in nature conservation has gained more attention over the last decades due to international conventions as well as local and national initiatives. This development can be seen as a reaction to a more expert oriented nature conservation characterized by centralized control and strict preservation of so called "original" nature. The overall objective of this thesis is to contribute to research on new forms of conservation where democracy and local participation is included. The case study focuses on the process of producing a pre-study for a suggested national park in southern Jämtland in the Swedish mountain region, and aims to investigate to what extent local participation was included. The pre-study was led by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) and the County Administrative Board (CAB) in Jämtland.

En gemensam nämnare för bokningsföretagen är att de inte gör detta gratis, utan erhåller en avgift per förmedlad rum från hotellen.SyfteDenna litteraturstudie syftar till att undersöka om hotell tjänar på ett samarbete med onlineresebyråer.Metod och materialDenna litteraturstudie genomfördes med en grund av vetenskapliga artiklar som publicerats på internet och tryckts i vetenskapliga journaler.ResultatResultatet av artiklarna visar att det hotell eller den bokningssida på internet som har lägst pris, bäst erbjudande och den mest användarvänliga hemsidan, lockar till sig flest bokande gäster.DiskussionHotellen och bokningssidorna är beroende av varandra. Hotellen blir exponerade vilket kunde leda till att bokningen genomförs genom hotellets egen hemsida, vilket är målet för hotellkedjorna. Alternativt sker bokningarna på bokningssidorna, vid vilket tillfälle OTA:erna erhåller en kommission.SlutsatsHotellen tjänar på att ingå partnerskap med onlineresebyråerna, då dem ökar antalet bokningar till hotellen.

Inledning: M&A har blivit ett synnerligt omdebatterat område dels för att frekvensen av M&A harökat och även för att merparten av förvärven inte lyckas uppnå de anteciperade fördelarna medförvärvsprocessen. Det finns undersökningar som tyder på att 60-80 % av alla M&A misslyckasvilket gör ämnet än mer intressant att forska i.Syfte: Att öka förståelsen för M&A, undersöka de bakomliggande motiven till företagsförvärv ochvarför de så ofta misslyckas. Genom studien vill vi belysa problematiken i M&A samt få en godinblick i hur en så omfattande bransch som M&A alltjämt misslyckas.Metod: Vi har valt en kvalitativ metod med abduktiv ansats varpå vi genomfört intervjuer medpraktiskt erfarna utövare av M&A för att ta reda på varför företag misslyckas med förvärv.Sekundärdata har hämtats från vetenskapliga artiklar och litteratur. Metoden omfattar vidareuppsatsens validitet och reliabilitet. Det empiriska materialet har analyserats med hjälp av deteoretiska utgångspunkterna.Teori: Omfattas av grundläggande teoretiska utgångspunkter såsom agency, behavioral ochneoklassiskt teori tillsammans med tidigare studier i form av vetenskaplig artiklar för att ökaförståelsen för vad som kan föranleda M&A, hur förvärvsprocessen bör ske samt tänkbara orsaker tillnegativa utfall.Resultat och slutsatser: Vi har funnit att destruktiva motiv och skild motivbild mellan köpar- ochmålföretag kan påverka förvärvets utfall negativt vad gäller motiven till företagsförvärv.

It has been argued that the ?War on Drugs? has done more harm than good and in some American states and a number of European countries the drug have been legalized or decriminalized. Everybody does not agree however, that legalization is the best course of action and in Sweden the emotions have sometimes run high in the discussions taking place in television shows and newspapers.The purpose of this study is to examine the image media portrays of cannabis; based on the theory that mass media is an important influence on the individual and the way in which he or she views the world. To put the result into a context the Swedish media image will be compared with the one in Denmark and Norway.

The essay shows that temporary agency employees work in a complex business. Both labor and management differs from other businesses in the Swedish labor market. Regarding the unemployment insurance, they have previously been separated from other businesses through legislation. Based on the essay question regarding workers protection has the statutory rights for employees been strengthened. This is a study that aims to discern whether there are any differences between upper secondary level school textbooks published both before The Living History Forum (a government agency that works with issues on tolerance, democracy and human rights) was founded and after with regards to their depiction of Judaism in general and anti-Semitism and the Holocaust in particular. Underscoring the relevancy of this topic, in 1997 CEIFO (The Centre for Research in International Migration and Ethnic Relations) and Brå (Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention) conducted a survey among school children which revealed a lack of knowledge regarding the Holocaust (including whether it had even occurred). With this educational deficiency in mind, this study attempts to determine if there is an active development in text-book authoring regarding this subject.Using Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis (CDA) eight textbooks (four old and four new) are examined and compared in order to see if there have been changes in discourse regarding this topic over time. Fairclough's critical discourse analysis is a method used to analyse the relationship between discourse and changes in social and cultural development, and is thus employed in this case to determine if any significant changes have been made in textbooks regarding this topic.As a future teacher in religion it is important for me (and others) to be aware of this type of issue in order to be able to combat it when encountered in schools. It is also important, and part of one?s responsibility as a teacher, to actively and critically work with and review textbooks.This study has not found any major changes in the depiction of Judaism and anti-Semitism in any of the textbooks reviewed.

Vårt syfte med föreliggande uppsats är att beskriva och förklara hur den svenska staten byggerupp och utvecklar bilden av Sverige mot omvärlden. Vi har frågat oss hur det kommer sig att Sverige har ett av världens starkaste varumärken när landet inte på något sätt är världens rikasteland, största exportör, största mottagare av utländska investeringar eller främsta turistmål.Metodmässigt bygger vårt arbete på en fallstudie där vi intervjuat representanter för fyra myndigheter som arbetar med marknadsföring av Sverige mot utlandet tillsammans i Nämnden för Sverigebilden i utlandet; Svenska Institutet, Invest in Sweden Agency, Visit Sweden och Exportrådet. Vi har arbetat hermeneutiskt där vi försökt att förstå våra fallföretag och deras agerande.Vår slutsats är att ekonomiskt sett är Sverige inte det mest framgångsrika landet men när det kommer till att marknadsföra bilden av Sverige så finns det en stark och planerad strategi sombygger på samverkan mellan de olika aktörerna i Nämnden för Sverigebilden i utlandet. Det samarbete som vi kartlagt i denna uppsats anser vi till viss del förklarar den starka bilden avSverige. Den största delen av förklaringen, menar vi, är emellertid den goda bild som redan finns av Sverige i utlandet och som växt fram under tidens gång, tack vare ett antal särskiljandepositiva faktorer som behandlas i uppsatsen.

Högbytorp is Ragn-Sells? largest waste facility and it is located north of Stockholm. There is an old landfill still in use, but at the end of this year it will be closed. The waste deposited on the landfill can, through decomposition, give rise to a large amount of methane gas, which is an energy rich gas that can be used for heat and electricity production. To receive a relatively large amount of gas, the decomposition requires a high moisture content in the waste.
