Kandidatuppsatsen ?Sverige behöver inte oroa sig ? än.? syftar till att skapa en överblick av hur svenska medier gestaltar andra länder, och vad denna gestaltning beror på. Rapporteringen kring Ryssland i svenska medier har under början av året varit omfattande. I och med de olympiska spelen i Sotji och den ryska interventionen i Ukraina rapporterar svenska nyhetsmedier frekvent om såväl rysk inrikes- och utrikespolitik som brott mot mänskliga rättigheter, ekonomiskt och politiskt förfall samt ett potentiellt hot om militära insatser i och omkring Ryssland. Det har förekommit diskussioner i svenska medier, hos svenska politiker och bland Sveriges allmänhet som tyder på reaktioner och ställningstagande.

SammanfattningSyftet med studien var att studera skillnader i vilka mål bordtennisspelare använder sig av beroende på målinriktning. I studien deltog 103 bordtennisspelare (60 män och 43 kvinnor) tävlandes i division ett till tre. Metoden som användes i studien var en kvantitativ undersökning och bestod av enkäterna Collegiate Goal Setting in Sport Questionnaire (Weinberg, Burton, Yukelson, Weigand, 1993) och Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (Duda & Nicholls, 1992; ref i Duda, 1998). Resultatet i studien visade flera signifikanta skillnader mellan bordtennisspelarna med högre resultatinriktning och bordtennisspelare med en lägre resultatinriktning när det gäller uppfattning om målsättning. Resultatet visade exempelvis att bordtennisspelarna med högre resultatinriktning oftare satte resultatmål och prestationsmål jämfört med bordtennisspelare med en lägre resultatinriktning.

Studien syftar till att ge ökad kunskap om mediedebattens diskurs, i synnerhet utifrån ett riskperspektiv. Målet med denna studie är att undersöka hur mediedebatten om HPV-vaccinet ser ut, och varför den ser ut som den gör. Vilka aktörer som är aktiva i debatten, hur de argumenterar och vilka budskap de använder är områden som besvaras för att uppfylla vårt mål.Studiens huvudfråga undersöks genom en kritisk diskursanalys samt argumentationsanalys.Huvudresultaten visar att debatten kan liknas vid en kampanj, eftersom debattens aktörer till största del representeras av elitpersoner, människor som har makt att driva igenom eller påverka beslut inom området. Till hjälp använder de sig av argument som kan tyda på en hälsorisk hos den enskilda individen. En trolig orsak till att medierna satte HPV-vaccinet på agendan kan vara ett flertal omvärldsfaktorer som; massvaccinationen mot svininfluensan, Kalla faktas program om vaccinet, internet och sociala medier, nyhetsrapporteringen samt barn och kvinnors roll i samhället.

Hösten 2004 diskuterades Vänsterpartiets förhållande till kommunismen flitigt i medierna. En utlösande händelse var två reportage om Vänsterpartiet som Sveriges Televisions samhällsprogram Uppdrag granskning gjorde. Reportagen och de följande händelserna väckte stor uppmärksamhet i medierna.Vår undersökning är en fallstudie om agenda-Setting. Genom att belysa och förklara agenda-Setting för politiska ämnen blir mediernas roll i den politiska processen tydligare. Ur en demokratisk synvinkel är det viktigt att det är tydligt för medborgarna vem som påverkar politiken och varför.Vi har undersökt bakgrunden och motiven till, genomförandet av och efterspelet till Uppdrag gransknings reportage.

In Sweden, a new feminist political party (?Feministiskt initiativ?) was founded in 2005. The main objective of this thesis is to study the reasons and driving forces behind the establishment of the party, as well as to explain the timing of its foundation in 2005. The theories that are used in the study are focused on the individual founders, and the empirical material comprise in essence of interviews with founders.The study reveals that several individuals, as well as political movements were involved in the process of the party establishment. Various interacting factors influenced the founders to choose the strategy of Setting up a political party.

VEP, visual evoked potential is an electrophysiologic test that can be used for evaluating the higher visual pathways. The aim of this study was to investigate if it is possible to adapt this method to horses. This method could have a clinical use in addition to the existing diagnostic methods that are available to evaluate vision in horses. Firstly, this study contains a summary of relevant studies done on animals and, secondly, an experimental part where the possibility of recording VEP in nonsedated and sedated horses is investigated and where to position the recording electrode to obtain the best results. Our results show that it is possible to record VEP in horses in a clinical Setting. VEP was best recorded in the sedated horse to avoid movement artifacts and other disturbances.

The last few years a lot of media air time has been devoted to training, sports, health and weightloss on a more personal level then before. The new media arena is beeing used at its´ maximumto broadcast wievs on how we should eat, look, exercise and live. This thesis is trying to makebetter understanding on what people in general think is important when it comes to physicaltraining and motivation with the aid of digital media and IT systems. The thesis describes aworkshop that was conducted within the frames of Participatory Design and the outcome of thatworkshop. The workshop was conducted with a group of lead users (in this case instructors at avery large fitness center in Umeå, Sweden) and the main question was ?How can IT be used toachive a positive effect on physical exercise if motivation is the focus??.

This research paper has examined how three teachers in a Swedish state secondary school adapt their teaching to immigrant pupils aged 13 to16 who have recently arrived in the country. The study is based on observation in the classroom and interviews with the teachers. The study showed that all the teachers adapted their teaching methods in the different subjects by actively working with language development during their lessons. The methods employed included explaining words and definitions, using visual methods of teaching and Setting frequent written exercises. In this way the pupils developed their language skills whilst covering the subject coursework.

Since a decade back in time, Sweden is officially recognised as a multicultural society. Different cultures exist side by side and the city of Malmo is one of the clearest examples of this Setting. In multicultural societies, the dichotomy of ?us? versus ?them? is common, which leads to segregation and asymmetrical relations of power. The concept of intercultural education is in theory known to be able to create a position of ?us? where every culture is equally recognized and reinterpreted and thus become an alternative to the dichotomy.

Background: In small animal healthcare fluid therapy is an important area. To get an adequate treatment there are several factors that may play important roles in this matter. One of these factors is the correct use of the administration technique. Aim: The aim was to investigate how correct the amount of prescribed fluid was given when different people set up a fluid administration set. Method: An experimental study was performed to compare two different infusion techniques.

Denna studie syftar till att utforska synen på rapporteringen kring orkanen Katrina, samt om den förändrat synen på USA och amerikanernas socioekonomiska status. Grunden är den uppmärksamhet fattiga fick i bevakningen. Metoden är kvalitativ intervju och målet är att uppnå analytisk generaliserbarhet. Viktiga teoretiska utgångspunkter är Lippmanns texter om världssyn och agenda-Setting, där områden som framing och third-person effect är framträdande. Analysen visar att intervjupersonerna främst är positiva till hur bevakningen fungerat.

This paper is a statistical examination about how the European Parliament views questions about equality between women and men. It focuses on how the members understand gender equality depending on ideological standpoint, nationality and gender. In other words, it focuses on whether the politicians have different point of views depending on which parliamentary political group they belong to, which member state they are coming from or which gender (man/woman) they have.Equality between women and men is a complex problem. This paper is concentrating on two questions; the problem about Setting up a European gender institute and the problem about gender mainstreaming.The examination, which is a statistical examination about how politicians were voting in both questions, shows that all variables, ideological standpoint, nationality and gender, are determining factors for their voting behaviour in questions about gender equality. Ideological standpoint is the most important variable, second in place is gender and the least important factor is nationality..

The aim of this thesis is to spread some light over the coming into being of the 2005 Pension Reform in Norway. The point of departure lies within an interest in Welfare State politics and the development in this field. Pensions constitute a cornerstone in the Welfare State. Making use of J. Kingdon´s Theory of the Agenda Setting Process, Discourse Theory and Institutional Theory the thesis seek to visualize the implications of structures, central actors and discourses on the reform processes.
