Cyklandet i Malmö har ökat sista åren både relativt och i absoluta tal. Malmö är med sin plats i Öresundsregionen en stad med storstadsambitioner. Studier av litteratur och ute i fält avslöjar att det separerade systemet för cyklister, som Malmö håller fast vid, har vissa brister. Jämförelser med andra städer visar att cykelfält på gatorna fungerar bäst i stadskärnan, medan separerade cykelvägar är bäst i städers perifera delar. För att kunna profilera sig som storstad bör cykelfält finnas på större gator.

VEP, visual evoked potential is an electrophysiologic test that can be used for evaluating the higher visual pathways. The aim of this study was to investigate if it is possible to adapt this method to horses. This method could have a clinical use in addition to the existing diagnostic methods that are available to evaluate vision in horses. Firstly, this study contains a summary of relevant studies done on animals and, secondly, an experimental part where the possibility of recording VEP in nonsedated and sedated horses is investigated and where to position the recording electrode to obtain the best results. Our results show that it is possible to record VEP in horses in a clinical setting. VEP was best recorded in the sedated horse to avoid movement artifacts and other disturbances.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the researcher experiences its role in real life in relation to the field of education and adult learning. The context of the study is the academic department of education and adult learning in Swedish institutions. This is a qualitative study, inspired by Grounded Theory. Data consist of interviews, texts from policy documents and reports. Both the aspects gender and context have been taken into consideration.

This study aims to investigate and describe the direction of the ideological development of the Swedish gymnastics association Gymniska Förbundet. Between 1928 and 1932, this organization transformed from a purely gymnastic and cultural association into an influential platform for the production of Swedish nationalist ideology. Based on theories of National Socialism?s formation within modern society, the analysis focus on the conditions regulating Gymniska Förbundets relation to modernity. Thus the study examines the association?s ideas in relationship to the concept of modernity.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine the function of public libraries on the social web, focusing on reading promotion and reading stimulation. For an understanding of the larger context regarding public libraries on the social web, we conducted online interviews via email with people in the Swedish library profession, together with a content analysis of various texts on the subject found in library journals and on the Internet. Furthermore to identify the public library's practice on reading promotion and reading stimulation on the social web, we did interviews with librarians at a public library on their use of a blog for this purpose, together with a questionnaire handed out to the library's users on their use and conceptions of the blog.The conceptual framework of this study consists of four key aspects in the theoretical and empirical definition of Library 2.0 presented by Holmberg, Huvila and Widén-Wulff. The results showed that the public library can create a substantial value through its use of the social web, but it?s necessary to have a clear vision of the desired outcome.

This bachelors thesis examines how av new musicfestival in Umea is communicated on thefestivals website and how the communication is beeing percepted by people who have boughttickets to the festival and people who have chosen not to. The material is based on qualitativeinterviews with theese people and a discourse analysis of the website. The methods beeingused in this thesis are discourse analysis and qualitative interviews. The interviews focuses ontwo groups, people who have bought tickets to the festival and the ones who has not. Theresults of the analysis shows that the website uxufestival.se communicates the vision of aunique festival who brings people together.

This paper deals with institutional and structural factors' influence on democratic transition in limited multiparty regimes in Sub-Saharan Africa. Comparing the cases Kenya and Tanzania, of which the former has made a transition to democracy and the latter has not, this paper reaches the conclusion that political traditions, the coalescing of the opposition, and the elites ability to learn from the electoral process is essential for a transition to democracy. In the specific cases, the harshness of the Moi regime and the Tanzanian vision of national unity may possibly carry some explanatory power, alongside the pressure from international actors.These results have been reached through the application of a comparative case study, where democratic transition constitutes the dependent variable. It should be noted that a harsh definition of the term transition has been applied, according to which the incumbents actual loss of an election is a necessary indicator for transition. However, the Freedom House and Polity scores have been brought up as complement of this definition.

Detta examensarbete består av en trafiklösnings utredning av korsningen Björkskataleden/Porsövägen i Luleå kommun samt ett projektgenomförande av antaget lösningsförslag. Korsningen fungerar bra om man ser till framkomligheten och har i dag en hastighetsbegränsning 70 km/h. Många indikationer visar på att hastigheten är i många fall betydligt högre och sambandet hög hastighet med frontal eller vinkelrätta kollisioner har en väldigt hög skadefaktor och bör undvikas genom en bättre trafiklösning. Björskataleden kommer att förlängas med anslutning till Rv 97 vid Notviken och genom denna förlängning kommer belastningen i korsningen Björkskataleden/Porsövägen att öka med ca 15%. Luleå kommuns vision är att alla korsningar efter Björkskataleden skall bestå av cirkulationsplatser.

This essay examines the way the recurring motifs in Karin Boye's poetry might be read as expressions of queer or subversive desire. The fact that the lyrical I is not gendered in the poems opens up for a queer reading. In adherence to Sara Ahmed's notion of desire lines and sexual orientation I discuss the spatial aspects of desire, and explore the positions and movements of the lyrical I in Boye's poetic landscape as deviations from the concept of the straight and marked path, into the queer and unknown.I trace desire in Boye's poetry mainly through the themes of nature and night, and the ways in which these phenomena deviate from the normative structures laid out by the poems. Usually the motifs of night (such as fog, shadows and darkness) are associated with the fading of the senses. The night obscures the vision of the lyrical I and wraps them in heavy silence, making them experience and desire in new ways. Through motifs related to nature Boye formulates a feminine, matriarchal myth.

Hållbar utveckling har, allt sedan Brundtlandrapporten 1987 och Rio 1992, utgjort den fundamentala idén för långsiktiga miljö- och utvecklingspolitiska strävanden och kommit att dominera miljöpolitiken/policyn i många länder. Med utgångspunkt i Hajers teori om diskursiva strategier för ekologisk modernisering, studeras i denna uppsats (1) hur hållbar utveckling påverkat svensk miljöpolitisk diskurs samt (2) hur den diskursiva dynamiken kring skiftet i svensk miljöpolitik - från kretsloppstänkande och Agenda 21 till ekologisk modernisering - efter socialdemokratins nya vision om 'det gröna folkhemmet', bör förstås.I en fallstudie i Malmö studeras närmare hur förändringen av den miljöpolitiska diskursen återspeglas i en lokal kontext samt huruvida det är nationell styrning, lokal logik eller ömsesidiga samspel inom ramen för de diskursiva förändringarna som gör att den lokala praktiken 'blir vad den blir'..

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur en företagsledning bör arbeta för att skapa goda förutsättningar för gästen att få en helhetsupplevelse. För att avgränsa vårt syfte har vi valt att titta närmare på Gröna Lunds organisation. Vidare har vi samlat empiri till studien utifrån tre perspektiv; konsulter, företagsledning och gäster. För att nå ett resultat har vi genomfört kvalitativa intervjuer med personer som representerar de tre nämnda perspektiven, som sedan kompletterats med en litteraturstudie för att definiera relevanta begrepp. I analysen har vi sedan tolkat resultatet och tagit in litteratur för att till sist nå våra konklusioner.

Scania som är ett multinationellt företag har som vision att alla medarbetare ska kunna delta och påverka sitt eget arbete, och att hantera dagens läs- och skrivkrav ses som en nyckel till det. Under 2005 startade Scania i egen regi ett läs- och skrivprojekt med mål att höja medarbetarnas läs- och skrivkompetens. 13.5 % av medarbetarna i motormonteringen anmälde sig till läs- och skrivprojektet. För att se vilket genomslag utbildningen har gett har vi anlitats av Scania för att utvärdera projektet. Syftet med vår studie är att utifrån djupintervjuer med Scanias motorbyggare undersöka skriftens betydelse i motorverkstaden samt söka svar på vad läs- och skrivutbildningen har betytt för motorbyggarna.

I denna uppsats kommer vi att behandla frågan om huruvida Gustav Vasa och Saddam Hussein kan anses vara landsfäder eller tyranner. Det finns mer eller mindre identiska strukturer vad gäller likheter mellan Vasa och Hussein som ledare och person. Likheterna yttrar sig i formen av ledarskap och strävan efter att bilda en stark nation, samt deras ambition att framstå som en stark symbol för makten. Men skillnaden mellan Vasa och Hussein är att det gjordes under olika historiska, sociala och politiska premisser. I Sverige fanns det en stark tro på att förändra Sverige från flera löst sammanhängande landskap till en stark enad nation.
