This Master Thesis is a product development project that has been carried out incooperation with Metso Paper Sundsvall AB. The task has been to develop a holdingsolution that generates force between two rolls and to evaluate the new solution withrespect to functionality, manufacturing, structural stability, costs, assembly etc. Theroll holding solution is a system that is part of a rollpress. The rollpress is used towash and dewater pulp. The existing solution creates forces that have to be absorbedby the gable of the press.

The aim with this study was to see how a few teachers with experience of young students with ADHD looks upon the need of special support through ICT and from which perspective of special needs education the support is formed.I related the informants? answers about their views on special needs support based on a relational and categorical perspective and came to the conclusion that all of the informants uses a bit of both depending on each individual students needs. Therefor I could see that the dilemma perspective is current in schools today. The most important need for the students with ADHD in general is, according to the informants, structure and routine.The result from this study also shows that general knowledge about ICT is lacking and needs to increase. This could in most cases be explained by the schools economic resources as that partly prevent purchase of new and more equipment but also forces the school to keep larger groups of students in each class.

An explorative study on the work motivation of employees at a retirement home. The three main factors are internal motivation, external motivation and control. A comparison between how important they estimate the different factors to be and how they experience them today reveals which factor is their key motivator and which areas that need improvement. Results indicat that internal and external motivation are slightly more important than control. And the amount of perceived control reflects the amount of creative and initiative behaviour of the individual.

The study aims to increase understanding and knowledge of motivation; this by examining how the leader experiences her capability to promote employees' work motivation. Also, how employees perceive that the leader influence and enhance their work motivation. Interviews were conducted with a manager and two employees of a government agency in Sweden. The results demonstrate different opinions between manager and employees in the manager's ability to foster motivation in the everyday work. The leader thinks that she promotes her employees work positively and believes that she is giving her employees attention and appreciation.

As trucks are getting more and more advanced, information about their weight has become a key factor for controlling them in a more fuel efficient and safe manner. Knowing the mass of a heavy duty vehicle in real time has been a difficult challenge for the truck manufacturers. With the processing power for electronic control units in trucks steadily increasing, more advanced algorithms for calculating the mass has been developed, but at the moment there still is a wish for better performance.Since there is a lack of good information regarding the external forces acting on the vehicle, forces that depends on the slope of the road, foundation of the road and the wind, the methods have to be able to disregard these. Such an approach, based on an indirect least square solution, has been evaluated in this thesis. The results have been promising and based on these a recommendation about further evaluation has been made..

This case study presents how the unit of munition-searching dogs of the Swedish armed forces handles their experiences from international service. The subject is particularly interesting as previous research into the area is nonexistent. The questions asked in the study are answered through the authors findings that training and preparation of this unit has developed thanks to the input of lessons learned from previous missions. Studies in Sweden have shown that about 80% of all youth in Sweden have participated in organized sport during their upbringing but at the age of 20 only 50% of these continue. There have been several attempts to understand why youth stop participating in sports but few aimed to understand why they continue. The objective of this study was to examine if there is a difference in motivation between youth (in the ages of 16-20 years) who participate in recreational and elite sports. The study was carried out as a quantitative survey where both recreational (n=35) and elite athletes (n=33) particpated. The study used a Sport Motivation Scale questionnaire translated into Swedish.

Motivation är en viktig komponent för att en person ska kunna genomföra en uppgift. Men hur personen handskas med uppgiften beror på vilken typ av motivation denne drivs av och i vilken grad. Tidigare forskning har visat att exempelvis stress har en negativ påverkan på motivation. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur kön, ålder, antal arbetade år och stress är relaterad till inre och yttre motivation hos poliser i yttre tjänst. Deltagarna bestod av 142 personer, varav 36 stycken var kvinnor.

The transformation among armed forces in Europe is a consequence due to shifted security perspective and the growth of international security actors, such as NATO and the EU. Sweden has played an active role in EU to ensure its influence in forming the security policy for the organisation. Some studies mean it´s because of Sweden?s interest in strengthen EUs roll as a security actor they transformed their own armed forces to be able to take part in international operations. This transformation led to what can be called ?the Swedish defence dismantle? and some studies mean that it has led to the point where Sweden completely lacks the ability to defence themselves.The question is if the ambition to become an active member in these security organisations can explain all the decisions made throughout the Swedish defence-transformation, or if some decisions were made due to other factors?By studying the decision process leading up to the decision to locate the flight education to Malmen in Linköping this study seeks to answer why the decision was made.

Utifrån intervjuer med åtta elever undersöktes vad det är som motiverar elever i skolår 4 inför skolämnet matematik. Det som eleverna uttryckte kring sina tankar angående motivation analyserades sedan ur perspektiven inre och yttre motivation. Undersökningen visade att det finns en stark generell motivation hos de intervjuade eleverna att lära sig matematik - hälften av de intervjuade eleverna ansträngde sig maximalt för att lära sig matematik. Sex av eleverna upplevde matematiken som rolig, vilket var den vanligaste faktorn till att eleverna ville lära sig matematik. De yttre faktorerna som var vanligt förekommande och som påverkade elevernas motivation var elevernas föräldrar, deras krav och uppmuntran, samt de framtida belöningar eleverna kunde se med att lära sig matematik..

Syftet med studien är att försöka skapa förståelse för vad som motiverar elever i klassrumsarbetet. Som blivande lärare känns det väsentligt att ta reda på de faktorer som gör en elev motiverad. Metoden på arbetet är en kvalitativ studie som genomförts på åtta stycken elever i årskurs sex, som genomgick individuella intervjuer. Studien tar upp motivation, i ett historiskt perspektiv, men även dagens aktuella forskning. Betydelsen av inre respektive yttre motivation nämns, samt hur motivation skapas.
