Den villkorliga självkänslans relation till self-efficacy

A Self-esteem that is contingent on affirmation from others leaves the individual psychologically vulnerable. Ccontingent Self-esteem has been shown to be either relationship or competence based. The aim of the current study was to examine the relationship between relationship based Self-esteem, competence based Self-esteem, the under dimensions of those, and self-efficacy. Questionnaires were handed out to 69 university students. The results indicated that competence based Self-esteem predicted a significantly low self-efficacy.

The study aims to get knowledge about how therapists express their apprehension and their method of working around children with low Self-esteem. From this angel I have tree questionings : How does the therapists define Self-esteem? How does the therapists know if a child has a low Self-esteem? How does the therapists work with this complex of problems? The study is a qualitative survey with interviews. The group of survey consists of four therapists from different backgrounds, who work with children and their Self-esteem. The interviews were recorded on tape and written out running text and analysed in relation to its subject.

Att stärka elevers självkänsla på lågstadiet

This paper is an examination of how you as pedagogue can strengthen students Self-esteem. I have acknowledge that there are possibilities to do this by the art of dancing. I want to with this paper to give a deeper understanding that shows of how you as a pedagogue can strengthen students Self-esteem by using dance at junior level. To answer this question I have used this questions:- Can dance strengthen students Self-esteem by the art of dancing and if that is so how can this be done?- What pedagogical attitude can be to an advantage when the goal is to strengthen students Self-esteem.I have chosen to use ten qualitative interviews which brings up my questions at hand.

Personlighets och självkänslas samband med psykisk ohälsa hos studenter vid Lunds universitet

The purpose of this study is to examine whether personality traits, Self-esteem, performance-based Self-esteem and demographic data relate to, and can explain the variation in psychological ill-health among students at Lund University. A questionnaire was distributed to students attending the Psychology program, Bio-technology program, Theologian program and Law program. There were 247 respondents to the questionnaire, mainly attending their second or third semester. General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12), Rosenberg's Self- Esteem scale, Hallstens scale measuring performance-based Self-esteem, questions relating to demographic data and a short version of the personality inventory scale Big Five were included in the questionnaire. Positive correlations were found between psychological ill-health and the variables neuroticism and performance-based Self-esteem.

Body esteem is the affective aspect of body image, which is shaped by social experience. Compared with men, women have a more negative body image, which is more frequently correlated with depression and dysfunctional thoughts, especially in the case of eating disorders. The purpose of the present study was to examine gender differences in body esteem and its subcategories, and to find out whether there exists a stronger link between negative body esteem and higher levels of dysfunctional thoughts in women. The relationship between body esteem, dysfunctional thoughts and mental illness was examined. Participants were 73 college students doing social sciences and sports training educations.

Which factors does the student consider to be of importance for their Self-esteem and self-confidence in the interaction with teachers?? How does the student feel that these factors were affected concerning their Self-esteem and self-confidence?During the analysis and systematization of the transcribed interviews, five factors emerged that effects Self-esteem and self-confidence.

Does a person´s self esteem contribute in the process of creating false memories? Previous studies show that mood is related to false memories as well as to self esteem. This led to the focus of this study, to examine the relationship between false memory and self esteem. The question is examined by comparing the amount of false memories produced in the Deese-Roediger-McDermott (DRM) procedure with people´s scores on Rosenberg´s Self-esteem scale. 59 people participated in a test with three different elements, a self esteem test and a memory test with both recollection and free recall.

Självkänsla och motivation : En studie kring gymnasieelevers självkänsla och motivation inom ämnet matematik

The objective of this study was to bring further knowledge to the subject as to what influences students motivation and Self-esteem. The study had focus on role that the teachers play in these aspects. The study was done by using both a qualitative and quantitative approach. The qualitative method was interviews based on six interviews with two teachers and four students from two different classes. The quantitative method was a questionnaire study that was done in both classes.

Relationen mellan självkänsla, betyg, fysisk aktivitet och social deaktighet hos gymnasieelever: en korrelationsstudie

Research has shown positive correlations between global Self-esteem and physical activity, as well as between global Self-esteem and school performance. However, research is ambiguous and other variables have shown importance for global Self-esteem. This study aims to investigate the correlations between global Self-esteem and physical activities, school performance and social participations within high-school students in the northern part of Sweden. The study also investigates gender differences regarding correlations between the variables. The study was conducted using a questionnaire that included Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale and self-rated physical activity, social participation and grades in Swedish, English and mathematics.

Self-esteem i ett nytt ljus : en redogörelse för, och validering av, sociometerteorin

Denna studie syftade för det första till att ge en grundlig och bred presentation av Self-esteem-begreppet utifrån sociometerteorin, samt för det andra att korsvalidera Leary m.fl. (1995, studie 1 och 5). Vi ville förmedla hur sociometerteorins nya betraktelsesätt har satt Self-esteem begreppet i ett nytt ljus, samt har kunnat förklara Self-esteem på ett bredare och mer funktionellt sätt. Utifrån sociometerteorin betraktas Self-esteem som en sociometer som övervakar en persons relationsvärde och hjälper människor att reglera sina interpersonella relationer.

AbstractThe aim of this essay is to explore how teachers and leisure educators can strengthen and increase students? self-confidence in different ways in their line of work. I chose this inquest for personal reasons and also because it will be of great aid for me since this is what I intend my future profession to be. For this inquest I have chosen to do five qualitative interviews and two unstructured observations. The inquest was also based on relevant literature connected to its purpose.The results show that self-confidence is linked to something the individuals accomplish and that Self-esteem is the way they see themselves, an inner feeling.

Students' Self-esteem is both a complex topic and concepts. We want this study to draw attention and to discuss teachers' efforts to enhance students' Self-esteem in school. Encouragement and support of the school adopted in the study contribute to strengthening students' Self-esteem. The study examines whether and how nine pupils in a sixth class is that they get encouragement and support of / from their teachers in school subjects and in learning situations.

Fysisk aktivitet i förhållande till global self-esteem, self-perception och social kroppsångest

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka samband mellan global Self-esteem, fysisk aktivitet och social kroppsångest. Vidare var syftet att undersöka skillnader mellan kön, ålder och fysisk aktivitet angående global Self-esteem, self-perception och social kroppsångest. 171 försökspersoner deltog i studien genom att svara på en enkät, besående av instrumenten Physical Self-Perception Profile (PSPP) (Fox & Corbin, 1989) och Social Physic Anxiety Scale (SPAS) (Hart, Leary & Rejeski, 1989). Resultatet visade negativa signifikanta samband mellan fysisk aktivitet och global Self-esteem och även mellan global Self-esteem och social kroppsångest. Däremot fanns inget signifikant samband mellan fysisk aktivitet och social kroppsångest.
