- En studie om elevers upplevelser av lärares påverkan av självkänsla och självförtroende

This study is about how students view the effects teachers have on their self-esteem and self-confidence. The theoretical background covers the consequences of success and failures, and the interaction between students and teachers, in regards of self-esteem and self-confidence. The purpose of the study was to examine what had in-fluenced the students? self-esteem and self-confidence in the interaction with teachers. To reach the goal of the study, several qualitative interviews were made with the following questions as base:? Which factors does the student consider to be of importance for their self-esteem and self-confidence in the interaction with teachers?? How does the student feel that these factors were affected concerning their self-esteem and self-confidence?During the analysis and systematization of the transcribed interviews, five factors emerged that effects self-esteem and self-confidence. The factors were: ?acknowled-gement of a student?, ?relation and humanity?, ?understanding of students situation?, ?communication and feedback? and ?expectations?. Conclusion: The influence of these factors shows that they worked to strengthen the students? self-esteem and self-confidence, in occasions the students described as posi-tive. The factor ?expectations? could work as strengthening for self-esteem and self-confidence, regards of the occasion was positive or negative. The factor ?expectations? could also work as weakening the students? self-esteem and self-confidence, despite of the occasion being positive. The factors ?acknowledgement of a student?, ?relation and humanity?, ?understanding of students situation? and ?communication and feed-back? worked as weakening the students? self-esteem and self-confidence, in the occasions had bean of a negative nature.Keywords: Self-esteem, Self-confidence, Student, Teacher
