During spring 2009 a three meter tall and laughing robot was developed in collaboration between Royal Institute of Technology and Royal University College of Fine Arts. The robots function and esthetics is based on an existing toy robot called Elmo. Elmo is 30 cm tall but now the goal was to make it 1000 times bigger in order to present it on the spring exhibition of Royal University College of Fine Arts. Due to only four months of developing and building time a demand of fast determination and good planning was required. In order to make a good structure for the project it is divided into five phases: Analysis of Elmo, planning, concept development, detail construction and finally product development and testing.In the first phase valuable knowledge is obtained according to the movements and geometry of Elmo.

The thesis mission is to investigate whether the swiveling laser that Vectura (former Vägverket Konsult) has in use to measure the road areas and straddle measuring can be used to detect differences in the reflective road markings function. This is to increase use of the swiveling laser and get rid of the manual measurements performed today.Currently, the measurement of road markings reflective function is performed with both mobile and handheld measuring instruments. The purpose of this thesis is to develop better methods for determination of road markings? reflective function, in order to facilitate the description and suggestions for improvements of the maintenance of road markings reflective function.The questions that the thesis has been to start with are:Can the swiveling laser detect differences in longitudinal and transverse road markings reflective function?The accuracy of measurement has been sweeping the laser over the reference instrument (LTL-2000)Is it necessary with a conversion factor for swiveling laser data against the reference instrument data?To answer the question 2 and 3, there has been a field work in Värnamo where a road stretch with longitudinal road markings and zebra crossing (transverse road markings) has been investigated with a swiveling laser and LTL-2000.The formulas and calculations contained in the thesis are drawn from scientific reports that are produced by VTI in Linköping. The same formula that was used to calculate the optical measurement data was also used for the swiveling laser data.

Svenska Lantchips is a Swedish SME sized snack manufacturer. Being a small, medium sized, family-owned business with branches throughout the world, they make an interesting company for a case study. The case study I have conducted focuses on the internationalisation process of this family owned company ? how they, despite their size, find ways to keep up an unique business structure, designed for internationalisation.The aim of this essay is to compare Svenska Lantchips? internationalisation process with traditional internationalisation theories and see if these are compatible with this company. The theories used are The Uppsala Model, The Network Model, and The Born Global Theory, with The Born Global Theory representing the younger generation of models.After undertaking an in-depth interview with Michael Hansen, business developer at Svenska Lantchips, I collated a substantial amount of material, which I have used as the basis of this essay.

In 1972 the regulations on tax surcharge were introduced. In the new system the sur-charge are imposed by the Tax Authority (skatteverket) and not the Court. Since 1995 the European Convention on Human Rights constitute law in Sweden, which means that Sweden is forced to guarantee its citizens the human rights in the Convention. Article 6 in the Convention states that everyone, in the determination of his civil rights and obligations or of any criminal charge against him, is entitled to a fair hea-ring within reasonable time. The Article also expresses the right for anyone charged with a criminal offence to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law (the presumtion of innocence).

Denna kartläggning bidrar till att klargöra för- och nackdelar, möjligheter och risker samt eventuella fallgropar med gamification. Om en organisation är medveten om dessa aspekter kring fenomenet minskar riskerna för att någonting ska gå fel, vilket potentiellt skulle kunna bli kostsamt.Studien vilar på en teoretisk referensram hämtad från såväl managmenent- som psykologiforskningen. Förväntansteorin, self determination theory, flow, McGregors Teori X och Y, principal-agentteorin är några av de teorier som används för analysen av gamification.Då det handlar om en kartläggning kring ett relativt nytt fenomen behandlas flera exempel på gamification hämtade från företag som verkar inom branschen. En intervju med speldesignern Henrik Englund finns också med, samt en fallstudie kring polismyndighetens omskrivna användning av spelelement.

The field of the social economy and of the work integration social enterprises (WISE) in particular, is for many a more or less unknown area. Unlike ordinary enterprises the WISE's are different due to their aim of integrating disadvantaged people through work. In comparison with other small enterprises earlier research has shown that the WISE's are dealing with challenges regarding recruitment, participation, leadership, sustainable business ideas but above all, the access to funding. The purpose of this essay has therefore been to examine and analyze the financial situation of eight WISE's located in the Stockholm County. The results indicate that half of the enterprises perceive their economic situation as very unstable and as an obstacle to their further development.

Tidigare forskning har visat att olika bollsporter dominerar i ämnet idrott och hälsa och att idrottsämnet har formats av den redan organiserade föreningsidrotten. En intressant fråga är om de elever som redan en gång har sagt nej till, eller aldrig har lockats av, den organiserade föreningsidrotten är motiverade för ämnet idrott och hälsa? Genom en kvalitativ ansats undersöktes detta och tio elever intervjuades för att skapa en förståelse för den enskilda elevens motivation till ämnet idrott och hälsa. Utgångspunkten var vilka upplevelser icke föreningsaktiva elever har av ämnet idrott och hälsa och vilka tidigare erfarenheter de har av fysisk aktivitet. Examensarbetet har sin teoretiska utgångspunkt i Deci och Ryans (2000) Self-determination Theory i vilken tre grundläggande psykologiska behov; tillhörighet, kompetens och självständighet, alla med likvärdig betydelse för individens motivation och välbefinnande ingår.

In the directive 2008/104/EC on Temporary agency work there is a regulation concerning that there shouldn?t be any restrictions or prohibitions in national legislation if it can not be attributed to the public interest. According to that the purpose of this paper is to investigate whether the Swedish law about reemployment in 25 § LAS is a restriction for temporary work agencies, it?s role on the labor market and also to investigate what consequences a restriction can have from a diversity perspective. To fulfill the purpose I have been using a legal dogmatic method based on determination of the current law.I have by the legal research determined that reemployment is not a restriction for temporary work agencies.

Inledning: Sjuksköterskan möter ofta den palliativa patienten i sitt arbete. I det palliativa skedet kan det vara svårt att upprätthålla och bevara sitt självbestämmande relaterat till de symtom som uppstår vid svår sjukdom. Det blir extra viktigt för sjuksköterskan att hjälpa patienten att göra sin röst hörd. Vi ville fördjupa oss i begreppet självbestämmande och valde att göra en begreppsanalys för att få ökad förståelse och kunskap kring betydelsen och innebörden i palliativ vård. Syfte: Att beskriva begreppet självbestämmande för patienter med cancer i palliativ vård och hur sjuksköterskan kan främja självbestämmande.

Haemonchus contortus is the most important bloodsucking gastrointestinal nematode in small ruminants worldwide. It is often controlled by anthelmintics. Even though other methods to control are available, the most efficient way to treat an animal with clinically manifested haemonchosis is to use one of the available broad spectrum anthelmintics: benzimidazoles (BZ), macrocyclic lactones (ML) or imidothiazoles-tetrahydropyromidines or the narrow spectrum drugs salisylanilides or nitrophenols. Anthelmintic resistance (AR) against all groups of anthelmintics in nematode parasites has been reported from many countries, and even multiple AR has been observed. In this study I have investigated the resistance levels to all major classes of broad spectrum anthelmintics in a naturally infected flock of sheep of Red Maasai sheep (RM), Dorper sheep (D) and their offsprings on a research farm in Kenya.
