Syftet med undersökningen är att beskriva hur levnads- och arbetsförhållanden inom svensk sjöfart har förändrats till följd av MLC-2006. Undersökningen visar hur dessa förändringar till följd av MLC-2006 upplevs av sjökaptener och representanter från Seko, SFBF och Transportstyrelsen. Examensarbetet har genomförts med hjälp av intervjuer för att ge en bild av hur MLC-2006 upplevs i svensk sjöfart. Informanternas upplevelse är att svensk sjöfart inte har förändrats nämnvärt till följd av MLC-2006. Däremot medförde MLC-2006 en högre standard på fartygen i hela världen, för att främja en mer rättvis konkurens mellan olika flaggstater samt för att tillgodose sjömännens rättigheter..

The company Västra Mälardalens Kommunalförbund, VMKF, wishes to revise and optimize their present data and IP-telephony network as of today consists of the three municipalities Köping, Arboga and Kungsör. As a municipal corporation, they seek consultation regarding internal as well as external review and investigation of the main structure of the network, its functionality and safety. By today?s increasing demands of Internet accessibility, availability of services and security far more extends the requirement of a complete network design. The foundation of networking rests on the balance between each of these necessities.

This thesis is about making a support for barcode readers and RFID readers on a computermounted in heavy vehicles. The computer has several applications designed for heavyvehicles such as an order handling application. The goal was to suggest an architecture toimplement a support for the readers. The architecture should be independent of whichmanufacturer who has made the reader hardware that was connected to the computer.At first a theoretically study was made around RFID technology and standards for thetransport and supply sector. Then the architecture was developed and a demo implementationwas made.The conclusion of this thesis is to implement support for barcode readers with a wedgeapplication.

Redovisningsområdet bearbetas ständigt för att moderniseras och förbättras. Som ett led i harmoniseringsprocessen mellan IFRS och US GAAP håller IASB och FASB på att arbeta med ett gemensamt projekt för att förändra regelverket för redovisning av intäkter. Samarbetet tog fart år 2002 och sedermera år 2008 publicerade man tillsammans ett diskussionsunderlag för allmänheten att kommentera. Arbetet fortskred och år 2010 var man följaktligen redo att utfärda ett förslag till standard; ett förslag som kom att revideras och ges ut i ny upplaga år 2011.Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vad revisionsbyråer och normgivande organ har för åsikter om 2011 års förslag till standard gällande redovisning av intäkter från kontrakt med kunder. Vi vill också jämföra dessa åsikter de båda grupperna emellan för att se om de skiljer sig åt.

The world is getting smaller. Global markets, political processes and communication technology bring people together. Even though many of these processes are dynamic and constructive, they have also resulted in a need for better and more effective ways of international conflict resolution. This thesis investigates central issues connected to the concept of humanitarian interventions in relation to current and future legislation of the European Union. The overall question is whether the rapid globalization process has resulted in a change of international law towards more liberal view where authorization of the security council is not always needed? And, if there has actually been such a liberalization, how does that affect the legal possibilities for the European Union to carry out armed operations without the consent of the global community?The conclusion of the thesis is that international law has been modified mainly in two aspects: First, the concept of sovereignty is no longer seen merely as a right of the nation, but also as a responsibility.

Examensarbetet är utfört hos YIT Sverige AB som är ledande i Sverige inom installation och service av fastighetstekniska tjänster. YIT erbjuder sina tjänster även i Baltikum, Ryssland och Centraleuropa.YIT erbjöd oss att uppdatera och slutföra en planritning och ett huvudlinjeschema över en byggnad. De ritningar som fanns sedan innan var flera decennier gamla och inte kompletta, detta eftersom fastigheten genomgått flera ombyggnader, där flera centraler och canalis kanalskenor inte var utmärkta. Det fattades även flera lokaler utmärkta i ritningarna.Arbetet har utförts som planerat och bidragit till att kunden mottagit ritningar som erhåller en ny och uppdaterad standard. Att jämföra med den standard ritningarna höll innan arbetet går det nu att utföra underhåll med hjälp av ritningarna på ett snabbare och effektivare sätt..

In his recent article Professor of International Affairs Charles Kupchan claims that Party Politics has become increasingly important for American Foreign Policy since the end of the Cold War. This assertion makes it valuable to assess how the substance of the Foreign Policy differs between the two American parties in various cases and if this difference is characterized by consistency or by change. In this thesis I examine these Party positions in relation to the European Security Policy.In order to examine this I compare the positions of the Democratic and Republican Parties? policy concerning both the European Defence Community (EDC) and the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). The purpose of this thesis is to examine the hypothesis that the Democratic Party to a higher extent than the Republican Party is more concerned to maintain good relations to Europe respectively EU.The results show that there are small indications that my hypothesis concerning the two parties is valid.

Integration av data hör till ett av de största problemen inom datakommunikationen, särskilt då det gäller data från olika system. Därför utvecklades det under 70- och 80-talet ?Standard Generalized Markup Language" (SGML). Tanken med SGML från början var att den skulle underlätta informationsutbytet och skapa mer strukturerade dokument. Problemet med SGML, är att det är oerhört komplext och svåranvänt.

Uppsatsen handlar om hur en äldre byggnad av torp-liknande slag kan renoveras till att bli enbyggnad av modern standard. Detta görs genom att stegvis gå igenom de delar som behöveruppdateras och ge exempel på hur de kan förbättras för att nå upp till en modern standard.Samtidigt har även två modeller gjorts. En i ?Revit Structure? över byggnadens konstruktion,men även en i ?Revit Architecture? där en möjlig ny planlösning ges. Till slut mynnar detta uti ett förlag till ny planlösning som innehåller alla de beståndsdelar som behövs för att skapa enmodern bostad.

This paper examines how notifies security looks for private employed workers in jobs founded by the public. The aim is to clarify the legal situation surrounding notifies law, and to analyze possible shortcomings in the law with a focus on the future.Notifies law is based on five cornerstones. Where freedom of information, a right to provide information to the media for publication, ?acquires the right? and protection to be anonymous when talking to the press goes to all workers. The other two pillars, ?a look up prohibitions? and ?retaliatory forbid? apply only to employees in the public sector.

Earlier quantitative entrepreneurial studies with a focus on poverty rate has centred their arguments and analyses entirely on income differences which has resulted in a high poverty rate among self-employed. Their results shows that variables such as age, gender, hours of labour and structure of the household significantly affect the poverty rate among self-employed. In this study we aim the focus on material living standards instead of income differences, thus using a more representative approach while studying entrepreneurial poverty. The purpose of the study was to examine how personality traits (big five) affect the material living standards among the self-employed in Sweden, using a group of employed as a control group. Variables earlier known to affect the poverty risk among self-employed where used as control variables together with education and household income.

In this study we have examined the possible quality standards and methods for applications with service workshops in the forest industry. The purpose of the methods presented here was to start the work of standarardising the maintenance service in the industry and be of use for service providers in their quality effort.The methods we used to accomplish the study were interviews and field visits together with a comprehensive literature research. Our results are presented in the form of four solution proposals: a standard based on existing SIS standards for terminology and key indicators, checklists that are filled in by mechanics with customer participation, the construction of a instructions database, and the implementation of the method 5s.We believe our suggestions can help the service providers in the four problem areas that we have identified: long term strategy, documentation, recruitment of competent technicians, and standard procedures in their operations. These improvements will be beneficial for both the service provider and the customer..

This is a study based on discourse theory in purpose to examine the border-politics ofthe EU. Since the EU step by step has developed into an area of free movement on capital, people and services, the external frontiers have been given prioritiy on the political scene. Development in recent years have put questions of foreign- and security politics on a supranational level, meaning that the EU-member states in a wider range now cooperate in these political areas.To handle the increasing ammount of (illegal) migration to the EU an independet agency, Frontex,was established 2005 in favour of coordinating the Member States in issues regarding bordersecurity. The focal point of this study is to critically examine the identity of Frontex by using Becks theory of risk combined with the theory of governmentality. By doing so I seek to highlight the relation between Frontex and the EU and also that of Frontex mission in relation to illegal immigration.

The purpose of this study is to examine escort-business with a focus on sales of BDSM-services (Bondage and Discipline, Dominance and Submission, Sadism and Masochism). The study is based on qualitative interviews with three informants providing BDSM-services, as well as a survey with 96 men who requested domination of escorts (the survey was carried out by an escort in the 1980s). The analysis of this material resulted in the identification of three themes on which the study centers: The personal experiences of the three escorts, the interaction between the escorts and the clients, and the changes over time when it comes to the performance of BDSM-services. The study has a gender perspective with a focus on feminism and queer-theory. The important conclusions are that there are several differences between prostitution having a focus on BDSM-services and other prostitution.

QPrEST är en ny intern standard för absolut kvantifiering av proteiner utvecklat av företaget Atlas Antibodies AB. I en marknad där det redan finns etablerade standarder kan det vara svårt att konkurrera ut de nuvarande produkterna. Därför har denna rapport gjorts vilken består av en marknadsanalys av nuvarande standarder, statistisk undersökning av publicerade artiklar inom absolut kvantitativ proteomik samt en global kundundersökning med 35 svarande. Resultaten har legat till grund för förbättringsförslag till Atlas Antibodies AB för bättre marknadsföring och lansering av sin nya produkt, QPrEST. Slutsatsen från denna rapport är att Atlas Antibodies AB måste nischa in sin produkt till kvantifiering av ett målprotein då det är där standarden presterar bäst..
