On the 8th of May 2007 a local power-sharing goverment consisting of Sinn Fein and the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) was formed in Northern Ireland. The aim of this dissertation is to explore why the DUP, who in the past have opposed all forms of power-sharing decided to form a goverment and take active part in a power-sharing agreement. The study is based on a consociational theoretical framework developed by Arend Lijphart and further developed in a Northern Irish context by John McGarry and Brendan O'Leary. Using this theory the study seeks to understand the broad conditions surrounding the DUP's power-sharing. After a description of consociational theory and the road leading up to the Belfast Agreement,three possible explanations for power-sharing, based onconsociational theory are discussed.

Aim: To examine how midwives describe good and safe postpartum care of mothers with infants in neonatal care, and which prerequisites and obstacles they see to giving good and safe care while minimizing time of separation. Method: Semi structured qualitative interviews with ten midwives at two maternity wards in Uppsala. The interviews were recorded, transcribed verbatim and processed by manifest analysis. Results: Three categories were identified, Good and safe care, Organization as an obstacle and The midwife role. Good and safe postpartum care of mothers with infants in neonatal care required knowledge, appropriate equipment, good guidelines, possibility to see the mother, contact between mother and infant and good collaboration between the maternity and neonatal wards.

I denna uppsats undersöktes genom halvstrukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer hur elever i gymnasieskolan upplevt att få en diagnos på en neuropsykiatrisk funktionsnedsättning. De intervjuade skulle samtliga ha fått diagnosen inom de tre senaste åren och går på olika program på en gymnasieskola i Mellansverige. Syftet var att beskriva hur elever upplever att det är att få en diagnos på en neuropsykiatrisk funktionsnedsättning. Hur det påverkar relationen med vuxna och med kompisar samt hur det påverkar deras mående och framtidstro.   De intervjuade tillfrågades om sin medverkan av respektive speciallärare som arbetar med dem. Samtliga respondenter hade möjligheten att avböja erbjudandet eller avbryta samarbetet närsomhelst under arbetets gång.

This thesis aims to describe and characterise the foreign policy change the United States has experienced towards Europe. This thesis claims that the United States is presenting a more supportive attitude today towards the development of the European Union. This more positive attitude has developed during successive U.S. administrations and has become visible since the end of the Cold War.Washington is today less ambiguous and less ambivalent towards the integration of Europe. The United States appreciate that a common foreign- and security policy in Europe is in accordance with American interests.

Together with Hälsoteknikalliansen the project team recognized the need to improve availability in the staircase environments. This is a difficult environment, especially for our elderly. The staircase leading to and from apartments is such a major obstacle that many people do not dare to go into the staircase leading to their front door. The market study that the project team conducted showed that many were in need of a living support, often a relative, who helped and supported them when they went into these stairs. It also appeared that these people manage everyday life just fine, but they suffer the problems that stairs to and from their apartment causes.

ABSTRACT Our main objective with this essay is to provide a description of old people?s stories about aging. The essay is based on the empirical source of four qualitative interviews with older people over the age of eighty years young. The main goal is to inquire answers about; their time in the workforce; retirements; healthissues; media/advertisements; adolescence/youthfulness and attitudes. The following main questions have been dealt with: What do the elderly emphasize when they describe ageing? Are healthissues the prime subjects the elderly talk about? Do the elderly experience positive or negative attitudes towards ageing? What is their point of view of younger generations? In what way do they describe their years as workers? In what way do they describe aspects about their retirement? We reserved to consider the opinion of their own, to be the most valuable source in our study.

Andelen patienter som är i behov av palliativ vård och vill bo kvar i det egna hemmet har ökat under de senaste åren. Patienterna behöver kontinuitet och ett professionellt bemötande från sjuksköterskan och andra yrkeskategorier.Syftet är att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelser av palliativ vård i patientens eget hem.Metoden för detta är en litteraturstudie. Sju kvalitativa artiklar ligger till grund för analysen, vilken genomfördes med hjälp av Evans (2002) modell för kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultatet redovisas i tre huvudteman som beskriver upplevelsen av; utmaning, relationer och personlig påverkan samt sex subteman, resurser/tid, samarbete, få rutiner, vårdrelation, att vara en i teamet, utveckling och att bli berörd.Resultatet visar fram för allt vikten av en god och ömsesidig vårdrelation till patienten och de närstående. Sjuksköterskorna upplever tillfredsställelse med sitt arbete och att de utvecklar sin personlighet genom möten med döende människor och dess närstående. Det som upplevs problematiskt är brist på tid och därmed en försämrad förutsättning att ge den vård som vill ges till varje enskild patient.

Denna undersökning belyser vad som drivit fyra svenskar som arbetar inom vägledningsområden att lämna Sveriges arbetsmarknad och söka arbete i Danmark. Vad som får dem att stanna kvar samt upplevelser om kompetens och anställningsbarhet lyfts fram. Via en kvalitativ metod undersöks om Danmark är en potentiell arbetsmarknad för svenska vägledare. Teori som används i studien är push-pull. Ogynnsamma villkor på en plats puttar bort, push, och gynnsamma villkor på en annan drar till sig, pull.

Active work to increase the efficiency of energy use is taking place in Sweden and throughout all of Europe. Electricity is an important part in our society?s energy system which means that the electrical grid operators and associated therewith has a central role in this work. Monitoring and controlling the electrical grids are managed from the distribution system operator?s DC, dispatch center.The aim of this report is to examine how the operations in a typical DC on the Swedish electricity distribution network will look like in five to ten years.

The exposed position of a social worker entails serious demands to their working environment. The experience of the working environment is coherent with various circumstances such as physical, technical and psychosocial factors. The aim of this study is to investigate how social workers in Gotland experience their psychosocial working environment. As a theoretical ground we describe the working environment regulations and it´s framework. Previous national and international research enlighten issues such as definitions of threat and violence, the significance of education and policys within social work, social support and riskfactors.

Background: In Sweden it is a legal right for patients to have the possibility to participate in their own care. Several studies highlight the importance of a good relationship, good communication and good cooperation in order to increase a sense of security and thus the possibility of participation. One way to increase patients' ability to influence and participate can be to adapt person-centered care. This moves the focus from the patient's illness to the patient and his/her resources. Aim: The aim of this study is to describe patients' experiences of the possibility to actively participate in decisions regarding its care and treatment at surgical wards.

Issuing convertible bonds for financing purposes has never become widespread practice amongst Swedish companies, in spite of the instrument being common in international markets. Economic theory based on efficient markets suggests that companies should gain no financial benefits from using convertibles and the Swedish situation could be interpreted as in line with this reasoning. However, there are Swedish companies that have chosen to issue convertibles and the Swedish market therefore seems both supportive and contradictory to the existence of benefits of convertible bond financing. Little research concerning the Swedish market has been conducted and the purpose of this explorative thesis is thus to enhance the understanding of the Swedish market for convertibles. This is achieved by conducting in-depth interviews with six listed Swedish companies that have recently issued convertible bonds.

This essay deals with the social services cooperation with the private sector relating to foster care. The aim was to examine whether and what the causes may be that the social service transfer tasks of authority to private actors. Furthermore, we have examined and discussed if such a working procedure can lead to consequences for the individual child and how / if the children's legal security is affected. Survey methodology is qualitative in nature where we conducted semi-structured interviews with three persons who work in different ways to be involved in work with a foster family. We have also made use of questionnaires sent to social workers around the country.The result has been interpreted on the basis inter alia, legal texts, legislative history, and two theories which have their origin in organization theory.
