Some researchers claim that we are witnessing the advancement of becoming a network society, and in spite of the different problems associated with the network form of organization, many cities still choose to engage in different types of networks. On account of that the aim of the study is to examine which expectations Swedish member cities of the network Eurotowns might have, and if their actions in the initial period of engagement in Eurotowns mainly could be explained by ?Logic of Consequentiality? or ?Logic of Appropriateness?.A qualitative research method was used and a major part of the empirical material consists of the information given by the interviewees.Regarding the expectations Swedish member cities have on Eurotowns, the result showed that five main areas could be identified mutual resource exchange, activities, breadth, security and meeting place. The results also showed that the actions of Swedish member cities may vary between ?Logic of Consequentiality?, ?Logic of Appropriateness? or a combination of the both logics.Furthermore the study also provides empirical evidence supporting the previously theoretical criticism expressed regarding the central assumption that the strategic actions of an actor can be regarded as a direct consequence of the mutual resource dependency..

Dessa exempel sa?tts i relation till olika teoretiska perspektiv fo?r att se i vilken teori de intervjuade specialpedagogerna grundar sitt arbete. De teoretiska perspektiv som uppsatsen har underso?kt kopplingar till a?r det kategoriska perspektivet, det relationella perspektivet samt dilemmaperspektivet.

The authors were curious and asked themselves if teachers are aware of the base of their teaching in various teaching situations. Are teachers at all capable of expressing that in words? One of the reasons that the authors chose the particular issue was because they think teachers have the task to satisfy the needs of all students and therefore they found it interesting to study how various teachers act. The purpose of the study is to observe teachers didactical awareness, and how it can be added to their intentions and actions, as in how they speak about their teaching and how they act in various teaching situations. Methods used in the study were observations and qualitative interviews.

Studien handlar om gymnasievalet och beskriver skolan under 1900-talet samt karriärvägledningsteorier och socialpsykologiska teorier som kan appliceras på elevernas beslutsprocess.Syftet är att undersöka faktorer som påverkar eleverna i deras val för att ge ökade kunskaper och insikt till studie och yrkesvägledningens profession. I en undersökning med elever från det naturvetenskapliga programmet på gymnasiet har en kvantitativ metod använts. Parallellt har även en litteraturstudie bidragit med uppgifter från tidigare forskning inom området.

Free Space Optics (FSO) has received a great deal of attention lately both in the military and civilian information society due to its potentially high capacity, rapid deployment, portability and high security from deception and jamming. The main issue is that severe weather can have a detrimental impact on the performance, which may result in an inadequate availability. This report contains a feasibility study for an all-optical free-space link intended for short-range communication (200-500 m). Laboratory tests have been performed to evaluate the link design. Field tests were made to investigate availability and error performance under the influence of different weather conditions.

Genusvetenskapen önskar att framhäva genus, med både fokus på enbart kvinnor och på maktrelationen mellan män och kvinnor, i fredsarbetet samt återuppbyggnaden av postkonfliktsamhällen. Kvinnor har länge exkluderats och ignorerats i fredsarbeten. I och med uppkomsten av resolution 1325, som syftar till att visa kvinnors avgörande roll i fredsarbete har genus blivit ytterligare accepterat i det internationella samfundet. Syftet med vår uppsats är att undersöka vilken betydelse genus kan spela i fredsprocesser. Genom att undersöka fallet Liberia och den fredsprocess som landet genomgår vill vi belysa de konsekvenser som genus har i denna fredsprocess.

Våld mot kvinnor är ett samhällsproblem som innebär brott mot mänskliga och demokratiska rättigheter och som har sin utgångspunkt i genusordningen, det vill säga att kvinnor och män lever under olika förutsättningar i samhället. Kvinnor med funktionsnedsättning uppfattas ofta vara dubbelt utsatta för våld, dels för att de är kvinnor och dels på grund av deras funktionsnedsättning. Personliga assistenter som arbetar hos funktionsnedsatta kvinnor kan hamna i en svår situation om de misstänker eller upptäcker att deras kund är utsatt för våld. För att veta hur de ska agera i en sådan situation krävs kunskap om vilka möjligheter och hinder som finns att anmäla en förövare. För att få en förståelse för hur personliga assistenter upplever möjligheter och hinder att agera i fråga om våld har kvalitativa intervjuer genomförts.

Det rådande samhällsklimatet, landets ekonomi i stort samt den ökande arbetslösheten, i landet har lett till att fler människor än någonsin tidigare söker sig till eftergymnasiala utbildningar. Regeringen har de senaste åren skjutit till pengar för att skapa fler studieplatser. Även om antalet studieplatser har ökat, så är rekryteringen till de olika universiteten något skev. Resultatet blir att det uppstår ett enormt söktryck på vissa skolor, medan en del får svårt att fylla platserna. Ett annat dilemma är att antalet utbildningsalternativ har ökat markant vilket också bidrar till denna effekt.

Telefonrådgivning via en sjuksköterska har funnits ända sedan 1930-talet men det är först de senaste åren som denna kompetens har erkänts som en egen specialitet. Inom vården sker allt fler möten mellan vårdgivare och vårdsökande via telefonen vilket leder till att allt högre krav ställs på sjuksköterskans yrkeskunnighet. Studiens syfte var att beskriva vad sjuksköterskor upplever vid telefonrådgivning till personer med psykiska problem. Metoden som använts i denna litteraturstudie var kvalitativ innehållsanalys med manifest och latent ansats. Resultatet baseras på 10 vetenskapliga artiklar där fyra kategorier framkom: trygghet, utsatthet, ett känsligt öra samt meningsfullhet.

Introduction:Children in early age diagnosed with scoliosis and in need of surgery will grow up to undergo several operations in the back. Parents play a major role in the care of their children during hospitalization.Purpose:The purpose of this study was to investigate parents´ experiences of having a child diagnosed with scoliosis before the age of five undergoing repeated surgeries in the back.Method:The study had a qualitative descriptive design. Five parents with children aged 5-15 years, who have undergone several operations were interviewed about there experiences of the child?s illness and treatment. Phenomenological-hermeneutical analyze where used.Results:The parents felt a sense of shock when they were told about their child?s diagnose and treatment.

The Swedish military is trough the rescindment of military conscription on the 1 July 2010 taking a defining step towards a professional army. They stand before big recruitment challenges, not least to its foreign missions. This thesis aims to examine the motivations of individuals for going on missions abroad with the military. The thesis is built on seven qualitative interviews with individuals who have done foreign missions and is planning further rotations. The theory used is Fabrizio Battistellis motivation theory and a form of discourse analysis.
