During several years we have been able to follow the victories and disappointments of Ludmila Engqvist through the scrutinising eye of the media. This essay will deal with how media?s picture perception of Ludmila Engqvist has changed by analysing articles from the Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen from 1996 to 2001. Why and how the media?s picture has changed will be analysed through the perspectives of Ludmila Engqvist being an elite athlete, immigrant and woman.

Det rådande samhällsklimatet, landets ekonomi i stort samt den ökande arbetslösheten, i landet har lett till att fler människor än någonsin tidigare söker sig till eftergymnasiala utbildningar. Regeringen har de senaste åren skjutit till pengar för att skapa fler studieplatser. Även om antalet studieplatser har ökat, så är rekryteringen till de olika universiteten något skev. Resultatet blir att det uppstår ett enormt söktryck på vissa skolor, medan en del får svårt att fylla platserna. Ett annat dilemma är att antalet utbildningsalternativ har ökat markant vilket också bidrar till denna effekt.

This report describes the development of a RESTful web service for mobile applications. The web service makes resources from an existing system called kompetensdatabasen ("the competence database") available. Kompetensdatabasen holds information about the capabilities of consultants and about assignments carried out at the IT consultant business Nethouse AB.The web service was developed according to the principles of REST and ROA (Resource Oriented Architecture) which puts focus on making resources available. The resources are made available through the HTTP protocol and the methods associated with it. This means it was designed to use the same technologies as the world wide web.

The society?s view of pupils with needs of special support in nine-year school has changed over time in Sweden. The teachers? views of the pupils have had an influence of how the special education process is designed. The aim with my paper is to make a comparative study of how special education teachers in rural schools and schools in Stockholm have designed their work with pupils with needs of special support.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how librarians in a Swedish public library view and discuss mediation of fiction. The questions posed in this study are: How do the librarians want to work with mediation of fiction? What type of literature should be provided according to them? How do they express that they relate and should relate to their users? The theoretical starting-points are three categories extracted from Jofrid Karner Smidt?s doctor?s dissertation Mellom elite og publikum: the approach to users, strategies for mediation, and ideals for mediation. The empirical material was gathered through focus group interviews with librarians in a public library.

ABSTRACT (english)Introduction: The possibility to transplant an organ is an important part of the health care system, which demands great resources and a well functioning organization with a level of high competence. The work with organ donation is complex and brings forward a great amount of different emotions for the operation room nurse. Aim: The aim with the study is to illustrate the operating room nurses experience when the organ donor is brain dead. Method: Data collection has been performed with semi-structured interviews, which have been interpreted by qualitative manifest analysis. The design of the study is pilot towards a study in full scale.

This report is an inventory of the street lighting in half of the residential estates owned by Karlstad Bostads AB, a public housing company. The inventory was made to reduce the environmental impact of the street lighting. From the inventory an estimation of the total installed power and the energy consumption was made. The total estimated power of the street lighting was 125 kW and the energy consumption was 500 000 kWh/year with an estimated running time of 4 000 h/year. The dominating source of light was 125 W discharge mercury lamps.

AbstractIn this theory-testing case study I will analyze and discuss the Gulf War which took place in the Middle East in 1990-1991 and has become an important topic for discussion among IR scholars in the post-Cold War era. The events that led up to the Gulf War, as well as the war itself, will be analyzed from two different perspectives; Realism and Liberalism. Within these differing theoretical frameworks I have chosen to use elements from, on the one hand, Classical and Structural Realism, and on the other hand, Idealism and Liberal Institutionalism. Focusing on these specific schools of thought I aim to derive essential, ?key?, concepts that will then be tested against empirical fact.The overall purpose of this study is to try to logically explain, through detailed analysis, the actions of the actors involved in the Gulf War and, in addition, why this war ever occurred.

The focus of this thesis is on what is considered to be a suitable foster home. For the study to be carried out an application had to be made to get access to the foster home assessments in a medium-sized municipality in Sweden. With the support of attachment theory and theory of standards different categories have been picked out and analyzed in foster home assessements that have been approved. The conclusion to what is considered to be a suitable foster home is a complex issue, as there are many factors that are interacting. Social workers seem to focus on the importance of a family?s ability to provide some kind of stability and security for a child who is considered to be placed within their home.

Bakgrund: Undersökningar visar att hot och våld är vanligt förekommande inom vården, både i Sverige och internationellt. För att vården ska kunna tillgodose patienternas behov och samtidigt vara säker för sjuksköterskor att arbeta i, är det viktigt att belysa vad våld innebär för sjuksköterskor; deras eventuella erfarenheter av våldsamma situationer samt hur dessa situationer påverkar deras arbetsmiljö.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är därför att belysa sjuksköterskans upplevelser av möten med patienter som utövar våld. Metod: Denna uppsats är en litteraturstudie. Artiklarna valdes ut genom litteratursökning i databaserna PubMed, Cinahl och PsycInfo. Urvalet består av 10 vetenskapliga artiklar som kvalitetsgranskades med hjälp av Willman, Stoltz och Bahtsevanis bedömningsprotokoll för kvalitetsbedömning av studier.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att göra en kartläggning av vad som sker efter det att pedagogen gjort en anmälan om misstänkta övergrepp. Syftet är vidare att ge en bild av verksamma pedagogers syn på att göra en anmälan och vad som sker där efter. Genom kvalitativa intervjuer med pedagoger har vi tagit reda på deras uppfattningar och tankar kring en anmälan till socialtjänsten. Vi har även valt att genom kvalitativa intervjuer med socialsekreterare ta reda på hur samarbete mellan skolan och berörda myndigheter fungerar. Övergrepp mot barn är ett allvarligt samhällsproblem eftersom att många barn inte får den hjälp de behöver.

Skolverket anger klart och tydligt i sina programmål för omvårdnadsprogrammet, att samarbete över ämnesgränserna är en förutsättning för att kunna skapa en helhet av utbildningen. Det anges också att kärnämne och karaktärsämne skall sträva åt samma håll (Skolverket 2000). Syftet med denna studie var att kartlägga och analysera problem och möjligheter som kärnämneslärare erfar och ser vid ämnesintegrering på omvårdnadsprogrammet och hur dessa erfarenheter påverkar arbetet med ämnesintegrering mellan kärnämneskursen Samhällskunskap A och karaktärskurserna Etik och livsfrågor samt Människan socialt och kulturellt. Studien har utgått ifrån ett lärande perspektiv och den sociokulturella teorin. Metoden som använts i studien har varit kvalitativa intervjuer baserade på en intervjuguide med öppna frågor.

Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka hur pedagoger i grundskolans tidigare år arbetar och serpå bedömning. Huvudfrågorna vi har ställt oss är vad pedagogerna utgår från vid bedömning?Vad de har för tankar kring bedömning? Samt hur de arbetar med bedömning? För att få svarpå våra frågeställningar har vi utfört en kvalitativ undersökning där vi utgått från intervjuersamt använt oss av litteratur kring bedömning. Resultatet av pedagogernas utsagor visar på attbedömning är en viktig del i skolan och att de ser positivt på detta. Enligt pedagogerna ärbedömning ett hjälpmedel i skolan som skall stödja eleverna framåt i deraskunskapsutveckling.

This scientific essay starts in a story where you get to follow me in my work by three situations with creative problem behavior at the special school where I work. The story culminates in a dilemma where I ask myself questions about how I look at my actions and my thoughts about the student. I break down and put these thoughts into three questions: What is my student's perspective and how will it affect my actions? How can I explain my actions and attitude of the student from ethical perspective? How do my practical knowledge look like in the narrative situations and why do I act like I do?My approach is to get answers to the questions by the reflection of the text itself, the reflection group and supervisors, as well as through literature that I find relevant to the issues. The process is like a pendulum motion between text, reflection and new understanding.I look at my situations based on psychological theories about the treatment of persons within the autism spectrum of problems creative behavior.

The purpose of this degree project is to clarify how five Kenyan Life Skills teachers discuss about hiv and aids education. Furthermore, to reveal whether the validity claims in their verbal communication refers to facts, morality or personal experiences. This, I will study by examine the teachers knowledge of, and attitudes towards, the disease. The teaching methods they are using and the basis of their validity claims. I have chosen to use semi-structured interviews as method and the theoretical framework is based on Jürgen Habermas theory of universal pragmatics.My result shows that there is a dilemma about whether the respondents knowledge is sufficient or insufficient.
