The thesis is an examination of the methods that are appropriate and long-term choice to obtain clamping force and secure screw joints in production. The employer, Scania CV AB, transmission manufactures axle gears to all trucks produced in Södertälje. One of the most common assembly elements is screw joints, where the clamping force is essential to achieve a secure joint. Current methods to secure the joint is due much of the friction effect and is an indirect method to measure the clamping force. The clampforce accuracy becomes more widely with torque angle control.

Technical products are becoming more and more complex, this means that the drivers, mechanics and service personnel?s need for assistance such as the service literature is increasing. In this degree project the focus is on the technical manuals of Scania?s Workshop Manual. Today, the information in the Workshop Manual consists of collaboration between text and illustrations.

Denna undersökning är resultatet av en kandidatuppsats skriven vid handelshögskolan, Umeå universitet på uppdrag av Scania Industrial Control vid Scania CV AB i Södertälje. Scania arbetar efter ett produktionssystem (SPS) som har grunden i Toyota Production System (TPS) och tar formen av ett hus där Scanias värderingar, principer och prioriteringar framgår. Scanias framgång anses bygga på att nyttja personalens kompetens inom förbättringsgrupper, ett arbete som sker genom SPS. Historiskt sett har SPS tydligast återfunnits inom Scanias produktionsavdelningar, emellertid har arbetssättet börjat överföras i alla Scanias verksamheter för att genomsyra hela företaget. Scania ser i dagsläget över sina verksamheter för att nå långsiktiga effektiviseringar med målet att öka sin framtida konkurrenskraft.

In 2011, a crime prevention initiative was undertaken by the Swedish police department in Scania. Two years later, the Swedish media reported on this initiative, claiming that it had been intended as an ethnic registration of Romani people. This revelation resulted in a great deal of controversy and sparked a national debate on the issue of ethnicity and public registration in Sweden. The police in Scania had difficulties explaining the purpose of such a registration effort, and could not provide evidence that it had been legitimate and legal. This paper will attempt to explain the motivation behind the original police initiative with a theoretical analysis based on assessments from public authorities.

This essay focuses on the function and development of city harbors during the middle ages in the Scanian part of Öresund. The purpose of the survey is to take a closer look at topography, development and activities on the shores in three coastal cities along the west coast of Scania. The cities that has been part of the survey are: Skanör ? Falsterbo, Malmoe and Landskrona, three cities that follows each other chronologically and that show both similarities and differences in appearance, function and urbanization.The cities of Skanör ? Falsterbo and Malmoe were important market places for the medieval Scania market with the herring fishery in focus. The cities? birth has to be looked upon in relation to these activities.

Scania is among the leading companies in the heavy vehicle industry. Scania also assemble engines for their trucks and buses, as well as to external marine and industrial applications. Wrongly assembled parts leads to quality problems, which makes it important to secure that the assembly is correct. To do this Design For Assembly (DFA) is used to describe how parts should become easier to assemble. Scania?s production unit for engine assembly has had a working method for DFA in the shape of a checklist, which is not used.

Detta examensarbete utfördes på DM-Motorbearbetningen vid Scania CV AB i Södertälje. DM har en plan för att öka kapaciteten i tillverkningen, detta gör att det under de närmaste åren kommer påbörjas ett antal investeringsprojekt i nya produktionsavsnitt. I dagens konkurrensutsatta marknader blir det viktigare och viktigare att vara effektiv och att ha korta ledtider i allt arbete som utförs inom industrin. I och med detta finns det stora vinster i att vid uppstart av nytt produktionsavsnitt kunna korta ned tiden som det tar till full produktionstakt. Fokus i detta arbete har legat på att identifiera möjliga orsaker till att denna tid blivit längre än vad som planerats i tidigare projekt på Scania.Historiskt när Scania har projekterat och startat nya produktionsavsnitt har det alltid tagit en viss tid innan förväntad volym och kvalitet uppnåtts efter produktionsstart.

ProblemVilka anledningar finns det för att ha incitamentsprogram enligt revisionsbyråerna och hur överensstämmer det med Scanias incitamentsprogram?SyfteSyftet är att beskriva likheter och skillnader för anledningar till att ha incitamentsprogram enligt revisionsbyråerna jämfört med Scania AB.Metod Vi har gjort en multipel fallstudie på grund av att vi har studerat flera organisationer.  Vi har samlat in information till empiri genom litteratur, artiklar, årsredovisningar och intervjuer. Intervjuerna har genomförts på revisionsbyråer. Gällande vårt jämförelseobjekt Scania AB har vi genomfört en telefonintervju, för att ta reda på vilka anledningar det finns att ha incitamentsprogram för svenska företag.SlutsatsVi kan konstatera att det finns fem anledningar för ha incitamentsprogram i svenska företag enligt revisorerna och dessa är: Rekrytera och behålla kompetens inom företaget, att fördela risken mellan ägarna och ledningen, att få ledningen att investera i projekt som gynnar företaget på långsikt, att styra ledningen till önskat beteende och att motivera de anställda till att prestera bättre. Det finns en likhet mellan revisorerna och Scania AB och den är att rekrytera och behålla kompetens inom företaget..

The Scanian woodfences has been determined by two mainly elements: Scania's composition of tree species, with a large element of deciduous forest, and the local building tradition which has more in common with the European continent than the Swedish tradition. By examining responses from ethnological question lists deriving from the first half of the 1900s, combined with literature studies, I have been able to deepen and broaden the knowledge behind the various fencing design. In addition I ?ve constructed maps which could illustrate their historical geographic distribution.I have come to the conclusion that there was three main types of woodfences that was most common until the barbed wire was introduced in the early 1900s and later on replaced the elderly woodfences. Common for the three main types is that the base material was made out of Juniperus communis, this largely because of its durability against rot.

Såväl den teoretiska världen som näringslivet domineras idag av exempel på outsourcing, men under senare år har exempel på motsatsen demonstrerats. Scania är ett av dessa exempel. Syftet med denna uppsats är att belysa Scanias motiv för att insourca i en tid då outsourcing synes vara den mest utbredda trenden.För att besvara uppsatsens syfte har en kvalitativ fallstudie utförts genom att intervjua personer i Scanias verkställande ledning. Ett inourcingbeslut är av strategisk betydelse och är tätt sammankopplat med definitionerna av vad som är företagets kärnverksamhet och vilka dess konkurrensfördelar är. Scania ser produktion i allmänhet, och den av motornära komponenter i synnerhet, som kärnkompetens.

Detta examensarbete utfördes på uppdrag av Scania. Målet var att ta fram koncept på en stänkskärm som skall placeras över den andra framaxel på lastbilar med dubbla framaxlar. Det togs även fram en uppskattning kring hur mycket värde en sådan skärm skulle skapa åt Scania. Dubbla framaxlar används då vikten över lastbilens främre del är så stor att den behöver delas upp på två axlar. Endast 8% av de lastbilar Scania säljer behöver dubbla framaxlar.
