Scania har problem med slitage och haveri i deras motorer. Anledningen är att smutspartiklar kommer i kontakt med motordelar under tiden dessa hanteras på olika sätt hos Scania i Södertälje. Cylinderfoder är en del i motorn och flödet för den komponenten är ett begränsat område att börja förbättringsarbetet på. För att i slutändan komma med en långvarig lösning för renhetshållning av cylinderfoder behövs en grundlig problemanalys av nuläget. Denna rapport ska resultera i alternativa sätt att hantera cylinderfodren på och ska kunna användas som ett underlag till förbättringsarbetet av renhetssituationen för andra avdelningar och komponenter på Scania i Södertälje.För att bryta ned huvudproblemet i mindre problem utfördes renhetsmätningar på cylinderfoder tagna från olika ställen i flödet.

During 2007 the City of Stockholm installed five grid connected photovoltaic systems. The aim of this master thesis is to quantify the amount of produced energy and recommend routines to collect and analyse production data, to make production data accessible by the public and to gain experience for future installations.The total amount of produced energy until March 2009 is 227 000 kWh, with an annual rate of 150 000 kWh. The expected annual rate was 148 000 kWh.All system owners are positive about their plants and see economical benefits in scaling up such systems.The installations need very little attendance and maintenance, however it is recommended that an alarm function is installed for automatic feedback in case of a system failure. All future systems should be inspected during full operation to determine if the actual capacity is matching the installed capacity..

Since the purchaser function is responsible of spending 50 percent of a company?s total revenue, the function has an optimal starting point to be a key actor in the shaping and execution of a company?s strategic plan.

From 1710 to 1713 the plague raged through the Swedish province of Scania. Other studies have been made on how the disease affected the society during the epidemic. This study tries to focus on the recovery afterwards. How did the population and the farmsteads recover after the plague? Statistics from parish registers and cameral records show interesting patterns in the demography, and that the recovery was far from complete 1720.

Det är därför nödvändigt för företag att kontinuerligt erhålla information om kunden och dess attityder för att kunna skapa produkter med god kvalitet. Inom den del av tjänstesektorn där lönsamheten i stor utsträckning bygger på långa relationer med kunder tenderar kundtillfredsställelse och tjänstekvalitet att ses som nyckelverktyg för att behålla kunder (Sweeney & Swait, 2008). Syftet med detta examensarbete är att studera hur kundönskemål kan identifieras och omsättas till förbättringsprojekt i sådana verksamheter. Examensarbetet är utfört på Scania CV ABs helägda dotterbolag DynaMate AB, vars kärnverksamhet är produktionsunderhåll, och HT Svarv AB i Kalix, vilka sedan september 2007 har valt att överlåta sitt underhåll helt i DynaMates regi.

More than fifty percent of the world population today lives in cities, and the pressures of urbanisation are particularly present in developing countries. As landscape architects, it is important to gain knowledge about the effect of urbanisation and ways to prevent the negativities. Experiencing the effects in person in a developing country, as well as learning from and about other cultures, enhances the understanding for global situations. Dar es Salaam is located in one of the most rapidly urbanising regions in the world, which puts pressure on the environment and the humans living in it. Lack of means to regulate land development has led to a situation where expansion of unplanned settlements occurs, with spatial disorder as a consequence. This has in the extension led to a decreasing amount of publicly available and qualitative green spaces, and degradation of the few ones that exist. There are facts that strengthen the status of urban parks, which especially becomes relevant in developing countries where many people live in sparse and exposed conditions.

The use of the robust and durable woody ground covers is increasing, not in the least in public places. The group includes low shrubs of different height that effectively build low, tight vegetation that covers the ground. Despite all the good qualities the knowledge about them is quite low and there are ideas about them of being dull. The woody ground covers manage to struggle against weeds effectively by competing for nourishment and water, but above all, by the canopy of the ground covers that prevent the weeds from getting enough light. In that way the woody groundcovers can effectively compete with the annual weeds.

High-precision cutting in metal is very complicated, a lot of parameters affect the result: what geometries to be manufactured, surface roughness and tolerances to be achieved, batch size etcetera. When pull-broaching internal parts this might be even more important, than in any other cutting operation. Everything is machined in one single stroke and the general technology is built in to the tool, therefore big investments must be made to change the process. Milling for an example: one piece at a time is machined away, and a lot of parameters can be changed easily.It is very high pressure on the cutting-edge when the broach is cutting. The Division of Language and Communication at Chalmers uses a web-based language tool, named EngOnline, to teach English grammar. The language tool suffers from some shortcomings. These include stability problems and an outdated interface but, above all, there is no documentation. Because of the lack of documentation and EngOnline?s need of maintenance, the Division of Language and Communication has decided to replace the language tool with a new and well documented one.The new language tool was developed using an agile work process; detailed documentation was replaced with more efficient communication.

The Swedish Transport Administration manage nearly 4,000 railway bridges in different condition and age around the country. These bridges is in constant need of maintenance and requires continuous inspections. This thesis is designed as a damage investigation on a single-track railway bridge south of Solvarbo in Säter municipality. The railway bridge is in operation and serves over 10,000 trains a year, everything from speed trains to freight trains. The bridge is built as a beam bridge, simply supported over a road.

Vinderosion på jordbruksmark har länge varit ett välkänt faktum trots att någon utförligare undersökning om dess omfattning och skadeverkan inte tidigare genomförts. Mot bakgrund av detta har därför ett nordeuropeiskt projekt, WEELS (Wind Erosion on European Light Soils), dragits i gång som syftar till kartlägga vinderosionen på sandig jordbruksmark i norra Europa och som man i slutändan hoppas ska kunna resultera i en vinderosionsmodell. Based on documentation obtained through interviews a demo system was created based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication between an embedded system and an Android device.This report intends to describe the tools and methods used in the design of the demo system and the result of an analysis of the BLE communication.Bluetooth Low Energy is an exciting protocol with wide applicability within the industrial field. Detta examensarbete är utfört på Scania Ferruform AB i Luleå, helägt dotterbolag till Scania. Scania och Ferruform arbetar ständigt med förbättringar där en del av förbättringsarbetet handlar om att minimera avvikelser som uppkommer i produktionen. Sidobalken har under en längre tid omgärdats av avvikelser när det gäller hantering och transport av produkten. Företaget har idag en önskan om att kunna minska de negativa orsaker som påverkar produkten sidobalk. Examensarbetets syfte har varit att se över vad som händer under hantering och godstransport av sidobalken samt säkra kvaliteten av processen fram till produktionsort.

To be a part of the future we have to make a profit, one way to improve the profit margin is by reducing the fixed costs. This paper discusses the financial results of equipment cooperatives in crop production. Through a case study of three farms in Södermanland, we have an example of how it can look today and how it could look tomorrow. The three farms are crop-producing farms with slightly different orientation. Jursta Gård, 155 hectares, and Djursnäs Säteri, 215 hectares, have grains crop and oilseed crops as the main crops, and Nibble Gård, 340 hectares, mostly have pasturelands and some grain crops.
