The project contains a force analysis of the vertical axis wind turbine Lucia's supporting arms and a measuring device to experimentally measure the forces is made. The forces between the supporting arms and the tower are calculated theoretically and then simulated by a computere. A measuring devise is then designed to measure the forces experimentally. The forces acting on the attachment between the supporting arms and the tower is primarily the centripetal force, gravitational force and the aerodynamic forces on the rotor wings. The maximum forces were theoretically calculated and is 13.38 kN along the x-axis, -0.25 kN along the y-axis and then 0.5 kN along the z-axis.

In order to reduce the price for, and improve the performance of automatic control systems for magnetization of synchronus generators, the possibilities of using a PC based software PLC system, Programmable Logic Controller, has been investigated. The result is a system based on the CoDeSys software PLC with runtime environment from 3S-Software, communicating with external units via Modbus fieldbus. System price is reduced from ?5000 to ?2000 and system processing speed is reduced from 10 ms for a Siemens S7 PLC to 4 ms with the CoDeSys PLC system though unsolved problems with runtime seizure caused by improper settings in the PC BIOS..

This master thesis comprises analysis and dimensioning of a keyed joint between a generator axis and a hub with aid from the FEM-software ANSYS Workbench 13.0.The generator axis is a part of a hydroelectric power station that generates electricity with a reactions turbine, a Kaplan turbine. The existing keyway consists of one parallel key with the width 90 mm and height 45 mm. Due to a planned increase of the power of the generated power with 32 % a design study was needed to see if the keyed joint would be suitable for the extra force. Because of the fact that the axis diameter is bigger than the standards covers/recommends a the keyway had to be re-dimensioned. In an earlier assignment from Skellefteå Kraft AB to Sweco Energuide the keyway was planned to be properly dimensioned, but no final solution was approved.During this master thesis a number of different numerical tests were made.

Detta examensarbete har genomförts vid Host Mobility AB i Göteborg. Host Mobility AB är ett ungt företag som utvecklar avancerade telematikdatorer och utvecklingsmiljöer för mobila applikationer. I dag erbjuder de flera olika telematikdatorer för olika tillämpningsområden och syften. Då Host Mobility endast har existerat i två år har de inte hunnit med att skapa en bred kundbas för sina telematikdatorer. Syftet med examensarbetet har varit att utreda och ta fram en systemlösning för ett mindre Fleet Management system vilket sedan skulle implementeras med Host Mobility AB:s telematikdatorer.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur företag använder sig av den interna information som affärssystemet genererar. Vi i studien vill också studera skillnader mellan en teoretisk idealbild och praktisk användning. En kvalitativ fallstudie av Perstorp AB genomförts för att undersöka ovanstående. Den primära insamlingsmetoden var en besöksintervju. I studien presenteras ett urval av de befintliga teoretiska referenserna kring information, affärssystem och styrning, samt hur dessa hänger ihop inom ramen för studien.

The right usage of tacit and explicit knowledge is becoming increasingly important for businesses worldwide. This thesis searches the answer to how management consultants tackle the challenges originating from converting this type of knowledge into codified use. With the help of a case study analysis it was possible to gain special insight into the processes of knowledge collection, codification and re-usage at a major organization built upon knowledge utilization. In order to provide the reader with a wider picture, the main subject of the study has been analyzed from two perspectives: a practice based and an objective based perspective. Furthermore, two different types of knowledge, tacit and explicit have been differentiated and studied in relation to each other, to gain a better understanding of their origin and conversion process.

Syftet med mitt examensarbete var att undersöka vilka faktorer som gör teknisk kommunikation tillgänglig och lättförståelig. Det skulle leda fram till en läsvärd lathund för användare av ett nytt CMS-system. Arbetet har genomförts i samarbete med Telia, som är inne i ett förändringsarbete gällande sina informationssystem. De ska införa ett nytt så kallat PIM-system (Product Information Management), som ska innefatta ovan nämnda CMS-system och kommer innebära ett förändrat arbetssätt och nya arbetsuppgifter för min berörda målgrupp. För att lösa problemet har jag tagit hjälp av en fokusgrupp och gjort en webbenkät. Jag har ställt mig frågor om vad teknisk kommunikation kan bidra med vid framtagning av ett instruerande material, samt i vilka syften användarna kan tänkas läsa den typen av material. Med hjälp av teorier och ovanstående metoder producerade jag ett förslag på hur lathunden kan se ut. Jag testade också förslaget på målgruppen för att få deras åsikter, i syfte att förbättra slutresultatet..

Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka sambandet mellan kundkort, lojalitet och lönsamhet. Vidare ämnar vi kartlägga lojalitetsskapande åtgärder och hur dessa påverkar lönsamheten. Metod: För att uppfylla det beskrivande syftet med uppsatsen, valde vi att kvalitativt undersöka hur två företag i petroleumbranschen arbetar med lojalitetsprogram. Intervjuer genomfördes med ansvariga för kundkort på AB Svenska Shell och Svenska Statoil AB. Empirin analyserades sedan med hjälp av teorier om Customer Relationship Management, relationsmarknadsföring samt lojalitet och lönsamhet.

Uppsatsens syfte är att utifrån ett New Public Management-perspektiv undersöka i vilken utsträckning visionsstyrningsmodellen i Halmstads kommun följer New Public Management och utifrån det undersöka vad det resulterat i. Uppsatsen grundar sig i en intervjumetod där ledande politiker och tjänstemän från kommunen intervjuats. Den teoretiska ansatsen utgörs av en New Public Management?teori grundad på olika dimensioner av New Public Management. Gender equality and gender equality work is relevant for today's working life, and previously male-dominated occupations may be increasingly under pressure to become more equal. This paper aims to explore and understand how the firefighters at a station are experiencing gender and gender equality in rescue services.Using theories of how sex is done, how a power perspective and a structural approach can show men's and women's different conditions in an organization, and theories that are more specific to gender and change management the firefighters talk about gender and gender equality are analyzed. Essay results were collected through interviews with seven firefighters and then analyzed and interpreted with the help of theories.The analysis shows that there is a perception among the firefighters that men and women are biologically different and that required physical strength legitimizes the exclusion of women. Inequality is seen as something natural and by pursuing an active gender equality women are given unwarranted benefits. When physical strength becomes a legitimate reason for exclusion, the responsibility for gender inequality is put on women and that women don?t have what it takes.There is also a resistance against gender equality analyzed in the paper, and it's stated opposition seems to be directed against the management's way of recruiting women.

To what extent an investor is allowed toborrow with his portfolio as safety depends on the bank or broker and varies between theproviders. By studying available material and in addition to that making an empirical study Iattempt to find out the reason for the varying degrees of leverage possibilities between thebrokers and how the degree of maximum borrowing on the securities are decided. Thefindings show that decision of leverage degree on a security is made after first making aquantitative analysis of the stocks volatility and liquidity and thereafter make a qualitativeanalysis of the company.

In this thesis a transport system is sought after thatif realised in the city of Uppsala could provide bothwell-being to all its inhabitants and sustainability,here jointly refered to as liveability. It is found thatthe car dominated transport system that is inoperation today provides two fundamental values,namely accessibility in both time and space, whichsets it apart from other transport solutions. Thesetwo values are of immense importance for theliveability in our modern world. On the other handthe car dominated system decreases the liveabilityof Uppsala in several different ways. Some of theseproblems, it is argued, could be solved within thecar system, through the adoption of moreenvironmentally friendly cars etc., but otherproblems are inherent in the car system and willremain no matter what changes are made.
