Human existence and welfare depend on functional ecosystems. Ecosystems are critical to sustain life-support services for human well-being. One method that visualizes that humanity requires ecosystem services for resource consumption and assimilation of produced waste is ecological footprints. This study focuses on the ecosystem service carbon sequestering. A quantification of this ecosystem service showed the potential for accumulation of carbon in different ecosystems in Stockholm and Norrbotten County for the years of 1995 and 2004.

AbstractThe Swedish Road Administration in the region of Mälardalen has since 2004 worked to in¬crease the efficiency of the maintance of bridges based on limited functional requirements and time demanded action.The maintenance of the bridges is contracted in the county of Uppsala since 2004, and Örebro since 2007. The county of Nyköping and Västerås is contracted by the traditional system. The contractor will perform a regular maintenance on all bridges. The bridges are inspected by the contractor at least once every year.The contractor registers the result of the inspection in a database called BaTMan. BaTMan is a Bridge and Tunnel Management system and is a strictly web solution were the user logs in via the internet.The Swedish Road Administration also inspects the bridges to se that the demands on the bridges are followed.My work is to compare these different inspections and to see any development..

Denna studie behandlar tågmästarnas upplevelser av företagskultur och yrkesroll i omorganiseringen 2003/2004, vid SJ AB Stockholm. Det empiriska materialet bygger på kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer med sju tågmästare, som arbetade ombord på x2000 under omorganiseringen.I analys av empirin har vi kunnat se indikatorer på att företagskulturen påverkar tågmästarnas upplevelser av omorganisering. Utifrån deras syn på den aktuella omorganiseringen, tolkar vi det som att förändringar som inte överrensstämmer med grundläggande värderingar och normer i en existerad företagskultur bemöts med ett visst motstånd. Titeln ? en perser och resten flygvärdinnor? är ett citat från en av de intervjuade och vi anser att den ger en illustration över tågmästarnas tankar i omorganiseringen 2003/2004.

I denna studie studeras den europeiska integrationen ur ett konvergensperspektiv där inkomstkonvergensen spanska regioner emellan får fungera som exempel. Med hjälp av ett paneldataset innehållande data på bland annat inkomst och tilldelade fondmedel från EU för 17 spanska regioner för perioden 1980-2004, gör vi konvergensskattningar med fixed effects och finner stöd för inkomstkonvergens på 2,7 procent. Denna inkomstkonvergens innebär att regioner med initialt låg inkomst i genomsnitt har haft en högre tillväxt än rikare regioner. Vi kan dock ej finna något starkt samband mellan de strukturfonder regionerna erhållit och denna konvergens..

In this thesis I based on Fowler?s method of syntax analysis construct a flow scheme which I then use to make a syntax analysis of former State Secretary Lars Danielsson?s statements, in his autobiography, regarding his responsibility in the Swedish government?s management of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami disaster. The focus of the flow scheme is how grammatical constructions can be used in the interest of rhetoric?s to on the syntax (non-explicit) level of the text indicate and place responsibility with or outside of involved individuals. The main conclusion of the syntax analysis performed is that Danielsson in his autobiography in fact does not use very many of the constructions described in the flow scheme, whereby it can be concluded that the syntax analysis in this case wasn?t so ?revealing?.

The second aim is to examine if the revision of the directive has solved the prior existing problems regarding social considerations in public procurement. In this paper a traditional European legal method is used. The examinations show a number of things, including the Revised Classic directive involving codification of case law, references to other sources of law and some clarified rules as well as new provisions. The regulations regarding reserved contracts, technical specifications, and selection criterion are satisfied in the Revised Classic directive.

Idag finns det tusentals verksamheter i Sverige som kräver tillstånd enligt miljöbalkens 9 kap 6 § då de klassas som miljöfarlig verksamhet. Vissa av verksamheterna omfattas också av Sevesolagstiftningen vilket innebär att åtgärder ska vidtas för att förebygga och begränsa följderna av allvarliga kemikalieolyckor. Vid sidan av de legala kraven väljer många företag att certifiera verksamheten enligt ledningssystemen ISO 14001 och OHSAS 18001, vilka ställer krav på verksamheten att arbeta med miljö och arbetsmiljö på ett strukturerat sätt. De legala kraven ovan samt ledningssystemen innebär att berörda företag ska arbeta med riskinventering samt kommunikation till externa intressenter. Background/Problem: Since the IT-burst in 2000 it has been recession within IT-consultant firms (Sif 2004). The tendency is, however, changing slightly and IT-consultants firms are getting more assignments again (Arbetsmarknadsstyrelsen ? AMS, 2004). IT-consultants firms are however still related to stressed per-sonnel (Handelskammaren 2004; Hallstedt 2001). Another critical factor is the communication between management and workers.

Utifrån ökade krav i samhället har det idag blivit allt viktigare för företag att jobba med sin miljöpåverkan. Ett sätt att göra detta kan vara att införa ett miljöledningssystem i den egna verksamheten. Det handlar här om att skapa ett styrsystem som genom dokument ska förmå integrera det tänkta miljöarbetet bland medarbetarna i organisationen, ett system där målet är att jobba med ständiga förbättringar. Tyréns är ett konsultföretag inom samhällsbyggnadssektorn som har ett miljöledningssystem certifierat enligt ISO 14001. På företaget arbetar man med ledningssystemet i alla de olika projekt som företagets konsulter utför.

Uppsatsen ?Maktrelation stat och kommun: debatten om den kommunala självstyrelsen 2004-2010? är en beskrivande idéanalys som utifrån tidningars debatt- och ledarartiklar undersöker synen på förhållandet mellan stat och kommun i Sverige. År 2004 startades en grundlagsutredning i vilken frågan om den kommunala självstyrelsen ingick. Utredningen resulterade i en reformerad grundlag som antogs år 2011. Denna uppsats analyserar de argument för och emot kommuners ökade självstyre som fördes fram i debatten under denna tid.

Syftet med vår studie var att undersöka hur journalister väljer att efter tio år återspegla den tsunami som inträffade i Sydostasien 2004. Vi har tittat på hur journalister berättar om katastrofen, vad de rapporterar om och vilka aktörer som yttrar sig i rapporteringen. Vi har även tittat på hur den återspeglande rapporteringen skiljer sig från den som florerade under Tsunamikatastrofen. 2004 verkade journalister under en pågående katastrof, vilket gör att katastrofen inte blir lika känslomässigt påtaglig 2014.Metoden vi använt är en kvantitativ innehållsanalys, där vi tittat på det manifesta innehållet i 233 tidningsartiklar från 42 svenska tidningar. Resultatet analyserade vi med hjälp av tidigare forskning och teorier kring bland annat journalistens arbetsrutiner under både vardagliga och extraordinära förhållanden.Våra resultat visar att rapporteringen 2014 främst handlar om bearbetning, sorg och livet efter tsunamin och att majoriteten av de aktörer som yttrar sig i artiklarna är drabbade/anhöriga och från Sverige.
