Organisationskultur samt avvikelse- och förslagshantering för ständiga förbättringar i tjänsteverksamheter : Fallstudie Vägverket

Because of an increasing demand from customers and changing external environment, there is a need for continuous improvements, for both manufacturing and service organizations, to meet these demands. Manufacturing organizations have been working systematically with quality improvements for a long time, but it has not been as common for service organizations. Because of that the methods to use for implementation of the systematic improvements have not been designed to fit service organizations, and not either for public organizations. The purpose of this thesis is to explain if and why the Swedish Road Administration?s organizational culture and handling of ideas and deviation support an implementation of continuous improvement management.

GeoAnalys i Flashmiljö

There exists a great need among companies and other organizations to be able to visualize statistics. It?s also increasingly common to ask for web-based solutions for increased flexibility and accessibility for users. This paper describes how large amounts of geovisual data, for a large number of regions, can be visualized in an interactive and well-presented manner. The paper let?s you walk through two application scenarios, developed in a Flash environment, using the GeoViz component library for visualization. The first application has been developed for Statistics Sweden (SCB), to give a solution on how to visualize statistics for Sweden?s zip code regions.

Tycho Hedéns Väg : trafikrum blir stadsrum

Tycho Hedéns Väg in Uppsala has evolved from being a through fare passage and highwayto the oversized Road frame running through the city it is today. At the present time, dueto the relocation of the E4 highway east of Uppsala, Tycho Hedéns Road creates a barrierbetween the north eastern area of Uppsala and the remaining parts of the city centre. TheRoad is designed to endure heavy traffic and high speed limits, generating a surrounding urbanarea were inhabitants are complied to follow the standards set for a high traffic-accessibleenvironment. Furthermore, the heavy traffic has led to the turning of both urban Roadsidesaway from the actual Road. The aim of this project and proposal is to show the possibilities ofhow the innate features of Tycho Hedéns Road can be used more advantageously to mend thecity area of Uppsala.

Buskröjning längs skogsbilvägar : en produktivitetsstudie av två kättingslagor

To regularly remove woody vegetation along the Roadside of forest Roads is an important part of the Road maintenance, since the vegetation binds moisture in the Road side and, thus, the removal makes the Road drying faster with results in improved bearing capacity. Vegetation removal also makes it easier to upgrade the Road by material recycling from the ditch and, moreover, the visibility along the Road is maintained. The aim of the study was to evaluate what type of chain flail is the best and most cost-effective for removal of different kind of woody vegetation along forest Roadsides.Time studies were made on two chain flails when removing woody vegetation in three different classes; easy-, middle- and heavy shrub removal. The studied flails were one light and rather simple flail named Optimal M160 and a heavier and more advanced flail named Slagkraft H210. The removal was made according to Holmen Skogs? specification and the quality of the cleaning was measured by objective belt inventory. The productivity was higher with the heavy flail within all cleaning classes.

Värdering för markåtkomst vid järnvägs- och motorvägsbyggnation : en fallstudie av intrångsvärdering i området mellan Örebro och Arboga

The purpose of this work has been to investigate if there are any differences in the valuation process at infringements when highway and railway are built. The work has mainly been concentrated on the negotiation process in which The National Railway Department (Banverket) and The National Road Administration (Vägverket) try to get agreements with the land owners. The agreement includes compensation for infringement effects that affects the landowner?s property. The National Road Department uses the Road law (Väglagen) when a highway shall be built.

Att styra bilanvändning mot en hållbar utveckling. Om geografiska livsvillkor kontra offentliga ingrepps betydelse för bilanvändning.

Car usage is determined by several facts, e.g. living conditions determined by geographical matters. There is a political will to control car usage with different kinds of incentives since car usage generates environmental problems. This essay analyses the differences between car usage in urban areas as opposed to thinly populated areas in Sweden and their significance on governmental incentives. By using statistics differences in car ownership during ten years between thinly populated areas, areas in the countryside and urban areas is studied.

Personbilar i singelolyckor med dödlig utgång på Sveriges vägnät : Orsaker till olyckor och rekommendationer om hur dessa kan förebyggas

In Sweden the most common type of Road traffic accidents involving passenger cars are single accidents (where only one vehicle is involved). The aim of this thesis is to analyse how these accidents occur, and present recommendations on how to reduce the number of deaths. Data has been collected from the Swedish Transport Administration?s in-depth studies of fatal accidents. Road traffic accidents with fatal outcome that happened on public Roads during the years 2007 to 2009 have been studied.

Konstvägen Sju Älvar : Monumentalitet i Norrlands skogar

An analysis of Konstvägen Sju Älvar, an exhibition of modern Nordic sculpture along a Road trough the wilderness of Northern Sweden. Konstvägen is a project for public art and contemporary art in northern Sweden. The intention is to see what happens when you exhibit art alongside a Road and what function it fills. By comparing the qualities of Konstvägen to the qualities of a monument Konstvägen and it?s exhibitional functions are sought to be understood..

Från kraftvärme till energikombinat : En fallstudie av kraftvärmeverket i Sala

In 1997, the Swedish parliament adopted a decision on Vision Zero (nollvision) in the Road and transport system. Vision Zero means that no one should be killed or seriously injured in traffic accidents in the Road transport system (Prop. 2003/04: 160). For the Transport Administration in Sweden (Trafikverket), this means increased demands on security and signage at Road work sites around the country. This in turn means increased demands on the contractors that carry out Road work for the Transport Administration.

Produktivitet och lönsamhet vid skogsbränsleuttag längs skogsbilvägar :

With an increased demand for biomass based energy and with development of better technique harvest biomass, new possibilities open up. With the possibility to combine traditional cleaning of Road?s right of way with biomass harvesting, the work of suppressing tree vegetation could become profitable or at least decrease the Road maintenance cost. However, knowledge about productivity and profitability in mechanical biomass harvesting in Roads? right of ways are still limited.

Synen på mångfald och jämställdhet vid vägverket

Research has shown that still today mostly men inhibit the managing director positions and jobs such as electricians, engineers, and Road workers, which makes the work situation unequal among those work places. Another issue is that studies show that minority groups have fewer possibilities in comparison with majority inhabitants on the labour market. One reason can be that many companies and organizations lack when it comes to the recruitment process due to prejudices and the applicants for a job who has names such as Ahmed, Carlos and Ali are taken out of the process at first stage. The purpose of this research is to study how civil servants at Vägverket (Swedish Road Administration) discuss about diversity and equality. Whereas subjects such as ethnicity and gender will be illuminated..

En studie inom upphandling av GPD

The Swedish State Road Administration has since 1992 procured operations and maintenance of state Roads on the open market. The procurement has been termed ?Grundpaket Drift?, GPD, and comprises mostly operational measures for Road networks. The clients of GPD, SRA regions, have gradually changed the original documentation in order to adapt it to local conditions. This process has gradually led to that some parts of the documentation are creating problems for contractors interested in procuring jobs. This thesis tries to analyze GPD and clarify the differences that may be essential to the procurement process and to facilitate future joint working projects and processing descriptions..

Bullertunneln : En utredning kring en ny bullerlösning vid trafikleder

The purpose of this Master Thesis has been to investigate the possibilities for a new type of noise reduction solution that could decrease the negative effects resulting from larger traffic Roads. The idea has been to construct a noise barrier with a roof ? like a tunnel placed on a Road. The choice of material has been focused on transparent materials in order to lower visual intrusion and barrier effects. This project idea is called the Noise tunnel. After having investigated the current offer of noise solutions, it has been concluded that these solutions rarely provide a sufficient level of noise reduction ? at least not when government regulations of acceptable noise levels are applied.

Förebyggande Brounderhåll

AbstractThe Swedish Road Administration in the region of Mälardalen has since 2004 worked to in¬crease the efficiency of the maintance of bridges based on limited functional requirements and time demanded action. The maintenance of the bridges is contracted in the county of Uppsala since 2004, and Örebro since 2007. The county of Nyköping and Västerås is contracted by the traditional system. The contractor will perform a regular maintenance on all bridges. The bridges are inspected by the contractor at least once every year. The contractor registers the result of the inspection in a database called BaTMan. BaTMan is a Bridge and Tunnel Management system and is a strictly web solution were the user logs in via the internet. The Swedish Road Administration also inspects the bridges to se that the demands on the bridges are followed. My work is to compare these different inspections and to see any development..
