School and education are topics that are frequent in Swedish media. The intention of this essay has therefore been to investigate the image of teachers and their profession in Swedish daily press. The overall aim has been to analyze how teachers are portrayed in the debate that followed the TV-show Klass 9A, and by that find how the debate defines the concept of a good teacher. The Representation that was found was then compared to earlier studies. The series was shown on Swedish television between January and March 2011.26 articles were chosen and the ambition was to have various perspectives represented, such as different voices and also papers from different areas of the country.

This research study constitutes a critical stand, which departure from the increase in welfare, and decrease in quality of life, and is further directed to the sphere of consumption. Contemporary consumers appear to seek for components to construct their self with through consumption, consumerism has become a sphere of life, and has consequently also become a victimizing force steering the identity and self construction of consumers. The alarm bells however are echoing in Western society, and consumers are experiencing dilemmas such as fragmentation, powerlessness, uncertainty and meaninglessness.In this respect we have presented spiritualism as an applicable path of escape or alternative to the scheme of the material oriented consumption sphere. We intend to broaden the scope of the interplay between spiritualism and consumerism in the act of yoga, and we have therefore been researching: what yoga is doing to consumers, and what consumers are doing to yoga. The study is based on an existential epistemology paradigm, which emphasis on the meaning of the yoga experience attained from the subjects of research; the yoga practitioners, and therefore we have carried out three focus group discussions.

De senaste åren har molekylärbiologisk data växt explosionsartat. Ny teknik gör att information kan härledas ur data snabbare och mer än tidigare. Faktum är att det tillkommer så mycket ny data att de nya resultaten inte längre kan publiceras i artiklar. Dessa sekvenser av data finns istället bara åtkomliga i speciella databaser. Dessa databaser är tillgängliga för allmänheten dels genom att ladda ned dem eller att använda en Internet browser.Det har, för ett par år sedan, kommit en ny standard för att strukturera upp och lagra data på.

I denna uppsats undersöker jag ett antal läromedel avsedda att användas inom SFIundervisning. Metoden jag använder är Representationsanalys och teoretiskt används Pierre Bourdieus begrepp symboliskt kapital och habitus. Mina frågeställningar är följande: ? Hur verkar de undersökta läromedlen insocialiserande till en svensk kultur? ? Vilket symboliskt kapital bygger denna svenska kultur? De undersökta läromedlen verkar insocialiserande till en svensk kultur. Denna svenska kultur består av ett antal egenskaper som framställs som typiska, eller eftersträvansvärda av författarna. Insocialiseringen sker genom att vissa aspekter av dessa egenskaper problematiseras medan andra tänkbara Representationer av dem inte problematiseras.

I denna uppsats har jag undersökt SFI-lärares inställning till hur man bör beröra ämnet homosexualitet i SFI-undervisningen, genom att analysera lärares svar i 22 enkäter och tre intervjuer. Jag har också gjort en analys av läromedel där jag har undersökt hur hetero- och homosexuella relationer representeras i tre olika böcker avsedda för SFI-undervisning. Syftet har varit att se hur väl litteraturen och lärarnas inställning stämmer överens med de formuleringar som står i läroplaner och kursplaner om tolerans och bekämpning av tendenser till trakasserier, att sätta dem i relation till queerteoretiska resonemang samt att synliggöra ett eventuellt osynliggörande av homosexuella kursdeltagare.I litteraturen hittas hundratals exempel på Representation av heterosexualitet, men ingen Representation av homosexuella relationer. Inte heller berörs ämnet i de kapitel som rör familjekonstellationer, sexualitet eller politik. I analysen av enkäter och intervjuer framgår att de flesta av lärarna som ingår i undersökningen, tycker att man bör diskutera, eller prata om homosexualitet i klassrummet.

The aim of this thesis was to examine how newspaper journalism represented the celebrity Anna Anka. Which roles and qualities did the media ascribe Anna Anka and in what way did the media frame her as a woman.We examined texts and photographs from two Swedish newspapers, Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter, 16 texts were analysed. The method we used were discourse analysis with focus on relations, identities and Representation.The result showed that Anna Anka was represented in an essentially equal way in both newspapers. The image of Anna Anka seems to be multifaceted. In the texts Anna Anka becomes a symbol for conflicts that emerge in discourses regarding gender, celebrity and Swedish values.

This thesis aims to examine how the renowned swedish writer and critic Olof Lagercrantz wrote about communist China under Mao Zedong's leadership in the years 1970?1971. Lagercrantz served as editor-in-chef and as cultural director on one of Sweden's major daily newspapers, Dagens Nyheter, between 1951 and 1975. He travelled to China in 1970 as one of the first European reporters to get admission after the cultural revolution. This series of articles about China also changed the image of Lagercrantz, afterwards he was referred to as Maoist.

Vargens återkomst har gett upphov till olika attitydsyttringar, boende i vargområden är i regel mernegativa till vargen än de som bor utanför dessa områden. Genom att mäta vilka attityder som finnstill varg kan forskare ge incitament till makthavare om hur vargförvaltningen upplevs avallmänheten.Den här studien är en kartläggning av forskningsläget under åren 2000 ? 2014 rörande attityder tillvarg i Sverige och Norge. De variabler/grupper av individer som forskare inom området använderför att mäta vem som har vilken attityd är jägare, djurägare, boende på landsbygd utanför vargområde, boende på landsbygd i vargområde, boende i stad med flera. Vi finner att studierna tar uppteorierna social Representation, centrum och periferi och NIMBY (Not In My Backyard).

Under vardagen och förskolans verksamhet möter barn olika visuella bildmaterial som utforskas genom sinnena, de ser, känner, luktar, lyssnar eller smakar. Barn utforskar och samtalar kring matematik som de möter i vardagen. Utifrån tidigare erfarenheter har vi oftast stött på pedagoger och vuxna som inte tagit tillvara barnens egna medtagna bildmaterial. Istället är pedagogerna fokuserade på att skapa sina egna matematiska aktiviteter och material som baseras på förskolans läroplan. Utifrån tidigare observationer i verksamhetsförlagd tid har vi uppmärksammat att vuxna och pedagoger oftast tar mindre hänsyn till barnens intressen till visuella bildmaterial som de stöter på i vardagen.

UN is a non-governmental organization which should promote gender equality within the organization. It is an organization which is based on human rights and claims that in order to solve the problem of poverty, famine and development we need to promote women?s status. In Sweden there is a strong tradition of gender balanced Representation at the governmental level and this perspective raise the question if there is a spill-over effect to the civil society as in the case of a non-governmental organization. This makes it interesting to look at if a non-governmental organization which is not under state control work for gender equality within their own organization.

ABSTRACTSegregation is more and more common in the Swedish society, especially in those suburbs called ?miljonprogramsförorter? which are characterized as grey and boring districts with low status. These suburbs are often mentioned in the media and the public associate them with immigrants, problems and crimes. Kungsmarken in Karlskrona is one of these suburbs and the purpose of this essay was to compare the media image with the images local participants had of Kungsmarken. The questions I brought up were how media was describing Kungsmarken, how this image has contributed to the low status of Kungsmarken, and if this image was reflecting the local participants? images.

Uppsatsens syfte är att ta reda på hur TV4:s lokala nyhetsstationer skiljer sig runt om i landet. Jag har studerat TV4 Malmö, TV4 Göteborg, TV Luleå, TV4 Stockholm och TV4 Karlstad. Frågeställningen har varit: Hur skiljer sig TV4 Nyheternas lokala nyhetssändningar ifrån varandra i form av bildspråk, struktur, val av nyheter, intervjupersoner och programledare? Metoden som har legat till grund för min uppsats är Television monitoring guide. Jag har tittat på fyra olika sändningar på respektive nyhetsstation på TV4:s hemsida och antecknat fakta utifrån Television monitoring guide.

Using a feministic perspective and a critical approach, my purpose is to discuss bibliographic classification, a central aspect of Library and Information Science. More specifically, my aim is to demonstrate the norms and the dominating thoughts regarding the organization and Representation of knowledge, subjects, and social categories in classification systems. I review previous research involving critical approaches to classification. These show that classification systems are a reflection of the context in which they are created, with the result that universal assumptions can be questioned. Some studies also present problems inherent in hierarchical structures.

This thesis strives to demonstrate my increasingly phenomenological approach to musical composition in relation to the extensive body of musical works connected in different ways to the poetry collection ORDER by the Swedish author and play-wright Lars Norén. The hand, the touch, the voice, the space (environment) and its philosophical implications are scrutinised from a poetic perspective (my poetics). The question of language (the word), the sign (text), sound/noise/music and its immanent bodily qualities are focused and questioned in my own work as well as in primarily two case studies of the music of Pierluigi Billone (1960-) and Morton Feldman (1926-1987).The text reflects the emancipatory process my music has undergone the last 4- 5 years: moving away from language and text (Representation) to body and sound, although preserving and nurturing the extended idea of the sign (as signification of sound and body) as a possible embodied vehicle in my composing and artistic thinking.The reader is invited through the extensive use of sketches and work methods to witness and follow this process as a manifestation of the ?doing? rather than the presentation or construction of an analysis in an academic sense.The thesis offers no solution and it fails to encapsulate all of the so-called ORDER-MUSIC (the music that is connected with Norén's collection of poetry) Instead it proposes a possible way of ?opening? the process to a basically phenomenological methodology inside the musical field of score based chamber music..

This essay analyses the European Food Safety Authority's (EFSA) legitimacy. Theories on input- and output legitimacy are used in the examination. After analysing stakeholder Representation, forum for deliberation, transparency, independence, and information sharing, input legitimacy in EFSA is assessed to be high. Output legitimacy was examined through the authority's outcome effectiveness, which was divided into compliance and effectiveness. Since food safety is an immense area, two important parts were chosen for the analysis of output legitimacy; transmissible/bovine spongiform encephalopathy (TSE/BSE) and genetically modified organisms (GMO).
