Med hjälp av kritisk diskursanalys undersöks om könsrelaterade maktstrukturer finns i SVT:s dramakomediserie Fröken Frimans krig och en diskussion förs kring hur dessa strukturer kan cirkulera i samhället. Utifrån en feministisk ansats är syftet att synliggöra och kritisera en del av de maktstrukturer som finns bland män och kvinnor i medier i Sverige. I analysen används främst hegemonisk maskulinitet, rum/plats och strategi/taktik som teoretiska begrepp för att förstå maktstrukturer. Vidare är även diskurs och Representation viktiga begrepp. Resultatet av studien är att det kopplat till hegemonisk maskulinitet, plats/rum och strategi/taktik finns könade maktstrukturer som ger män mer makt än kvinnor i medier.

The study has answered the questions to what extent people with disabilities are involved in SVT- and TV4- news reports and how people with disabilities are represented in news reports. The material is based on 140 news items.The study has demonstrated that news reports SVT and TV4 have different grades of misconceptions about disabled people. Disabled people are constantly being reinforced by negative disabling terms, the disability being of central importance for the news broadcast and they still occur in stereotypical depictions. Through the image of disabled people forms the bed-rock on which the attitudes towards, assumptions and expectations of disabled people are based on. They are fundamental to discrimination and exploitation that people with disabilities face on a daily basis, and contributes significantly to their systematic exclusion from mainstream society.

Detta är en reflekterande uppsats som behandlar ett verk som skapats inom ramen för examensarbete i medier: dataspelsutveckling vid Högskolan i Skövde. Själva verket består av en spelbar nivå till spelet SWAT4 (Sierra, 2007) med stöd för upp till 16 spelare i spelläget ?Barricaded Suspects?. Uppsatsen inleds med att presentera idén, frågeställningen och målet med verket. Detta följs av en kort del om spelet SWAT4: s ramverk innan den nivådesignsmässiga teorin som använts vid verkets skapande förklaras.

Det finns mycket tidigare forskning kring könsRepresentation i media, dock är det inte alla medie-genrer som uppmärksammas och mode har ofta en marginaliserad roll i genusforskning. I denna uppsats undersöks hur den franska modetidningen Vogue Paris representerar ?la Parisienne? ? den parisiska kvinnan ? utifrån de två motsägande vetenskapsteorierna feminism och post-feminism. Syftet med denna uppsats är att bidra till den feministiska debatten kring mode och könsRepresentation i media och ge ny insikt kring hur modetidningen representerar kvinnan. Genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys av olika modefotografi ur två nutida nummer av modetidningen som representerar ?la Parisienne?, med Roland Barthes semiotiska modell som metod, besvaras frågorna: hur representerar Vogue Paris ?la Parisienne? genom modefotografi; på vilket sätt (re)konstrueras myten om ?la Parisienne?, samt vad innefattar denna myt; hur kan denna Representation/konstruktion uppfattas utifrån feminism respektive post-feminism; och slutligen, hur förhåller sig denna myt till den dominerande ideologin om kvinnlighet? I min undersökning kommer jag fram till att Vogue Paris konstruerar en motsägelsefull och kontrastfylld myt om ?la Parisienne?, som innefattar en innebörd som både feminin och sexuell men även naturlig och maskulin.

The aim of this study was to examine how the political party Sweden Democrats is represented in two Swedish newspapers. The study included a national newspaper and a local newspaper, Aftonbladet and Blekinge Läns Tidning. We studied 35 articles from both papers, from 2005 and from 2009. We analyzed the texts using the linguist Norman Faircloughs (1995) method for discourse analysis. Based on his theories, we created our own model to examine the texts. Our model primarily focused on Representation. The study was conducted at a time when Sweden Democrats was given much support in opinion polls and knocked on the door to the Swedish Parliament. The study showed that Sweden Democrats in both newspapers, primarily by descriptions, the choice of interviewees, etc., often are represented as racists.

Quality is a vague concept, it seems to be about a ?gut feeling? but is used as if it were a concrete property. This paper examines the defenition of the concept of quality, the relation between quality and gender equality and also what the Representation between the genders in exhibitions, purchases and donations looks like in this day. As method for this paper text analysis, with searchlight on the two parameters of quality and equality, have been used on documents that provide a historical and a cultural policy perspective. The main part of the paper is an analysis of the visual arts on Värmlands museum, Kristinehamns konstmuseum and Rackstadmuseet.In the discussion of the paper, chapter 5, the result of the research is presented.

The aim of our study was to examine how homosexual and heterosexual men and women are represented in the Swedish magazine QX, a magazine for gay, bisexual and transgender people. We wanted to find out what kind of roles the persons in QX appears in, and inquire the relationships that exist between them.We analyzed the texts in twelve magazines, from December 2008 to November 2009, in order to get the most current results as possible. We used a discourse analysis, with focus on identities, relationships and the Representation of the world. Representations, gender, hegemonic masculinity and stereotypes have been significant theories to analyze our results.The results showed that the successful gay man is the most important person in QX. He is the perfect masculine macho fagot, who is highest in rank.

The availability of digital models of real 3D objects is becoming more and more important in many different applications (e-commerce, virtual visits etc). Very often the objects to be represented cannot be modeled by means of the classical 3D modeling tools because of the geometrical complexity or color texture. In these cases, devices for the automatic acquisition of the shape and the color of the objects (3D scanners or range scanners) have to be used. The scanner presented in this work, a Shape from silhouette scanner, is very cheap (it is based on the use of a simple digital camera and a turntable) and easy to use. While maintaining the camera on a tripod and the object on the turntable, the user acquires images with different rotation angles of the table.

Dessa omständigheter är dock begränsade och det är dessa begränsningar som utgör en betydande faktor som SKV tar hänsyn till vid en revision. I de fall SKV anser att begränsningarna är överskridna kommer resorna anses utgöra semester för de anställda och detta ger upphov till löneförmånsbeskattning hos dem.

Given the possibility that the world, as we know it, is a consequence of human interaction and verbal communication our understanding of the world can be seen as contingent rather than essentially given. Conceptions such as "entrepreneur", "woman" and "man" can then be understood as socially constructed subjects. Departing from poststructural and social constructionist perspectives I will examine medial Representation of women and men as entrepreneurs. My main purpose is to examine how the entrepreneur is constructed as a discursive subject in the journal Eget Företag. Drawing upon Ernesto Laclau´s and Chantal Mouffe´s Discourse Theory and the poststructuralist feminist theoretical perspective of Judith Butler I will discuss both the construction of the entrepreneur as well as the more explicit question; is gender significant for the construction of the entrepreneur and entrepreneurship in Eget Företag? In this study I come to the conclusion that the discourse of entrepreneurship, as well as the journalistic discourse, draws upon discourses of femininity and masculinity but also upon discourses of ethnicity.

Which general outlines are preferable in the relation between organizations and government? From normative theory and method I throw light upon this question by defining and comparing two different democratic standpoints. The substantial democratic standpoint focuses on political effectiveness and the procedural democratic standpoint focuses on equal Representation. The normative discussion aims at comparing how well the different standpoints function in political praxis. Since the ambition is to discuss concrete praxis I have also chosen to analyse an extensive case of interest influence in Swedish politics empirically.

The title of the final thesis is Filmic landscapes ? film as Representation, tool and practice in landscape architecture. The aim of the final thesis is to investigate how film as a medium can be used to describe, interpret and manipulate the understanding of a place and its design. What kind of aspects of landscape architecture can film as a medium in a design-process emphasize or create? How can filming, as a self-standing act, contribute to the understanding of the landscape and a landscape-related design-process? The thesis is divided into two parts, one theoretical part that consists of an essay, and one practical part that consists of a 11minute long filmic reflection of the ?Glass-houses?in Kosta, Sweden, created by the Swedish designer and architect Bruno Mathsson.

Den här uppsatsen har för avsikt att undersöka och förstå hur det är att vara förälder till ett barn som är trans. Studien är kvalitativ och semistrukturerade intervjuer har använts. Genom de fem intervjuerna som jag har genomfört med föräldrar till transpersoner har jag undersökt föräldrarnas upplevelser och erfarenheter samt förhoppningar och önskningar i relation till att deras barn är transpersoner. Resultatet pekar i två riktningar där den ena handlar om föräldrarnas tankar och känslor och det andra om deras behov och förhoppningar. Det föräldrarna tog upp i den första riktningen av resultatet handlade om sorg, tvivel, oro men även att det har varit berikande.
