There is much research into the reasons why a temporary pain, in some individuals, becomes chronic. Many of the causal factors linked with pain also seems to coexist with social anxiety, public self-consciousness and, to some extent, private self-consciousness. The purpose of this study was to investigate and identify possible patterns of self-consciousness (private and public), social anxiety and pain. This was done by a cross-sectional study in which a questionnaire was distributed to students at Örebro University. A total of 302 completed questionnaires were received.

En av de vanligaste parasitsjukdomarna med dödlig utgång i världen idag är amöbadysenteri. Sjukdomen orsakas av parasiten Entamoeba histolytica. Den sprids huvudsakligen feco-oralt och förekommer endemiskt i utvecklingsländer med otillräckliga sanitära faciliteter och dåliga hygienkunskaper. På senare tid har den även spridit sig till länder i väst. Man kan urskilja två typer av riskfaktorer; dels de som predisponerar för en infektion, och dels de som ökar risken för att utveckla allvarlig sjukdom till följd av en sådan.

The project focus on combustion of softwood pellets and pellets in a 40 kW grate fire reactor at TEC-Lab. Dept Applied Physics and Electronics at Umeå University. Experiments were performed at four primary airs to fuel ratios (0.7 to 1.3), where aspects such as temperature profile, levels of gases (CO and NO), sintering-/-slagging and unburned fraction of the ashes were studied. Four different fuel loads were used for wood pellets (10, 20 and 30 kW) and one fuel load for straw (10 kW). Combustion of straw proved very difficult to ignite, and also led to other combustion-related technical problem such as slag formation due to the relatively low melting temperature-/-slag temperature of the straw.

Att involvera användare vid systemutveckling kan bidra till att informationssystem som utvecklas i större grad accepteras av användarna samt blir lättare att använda. Det finns olika tekniker för att involvera användare i systemutvecklingsarbetet. Att dessa tekniker existerar medför dock inte nödvändigtvis att de används. Syftet med arbetet är att identifiera huruvida tekniker som framkommit från forskning används och om de inte används hur användarna då involveras rent praktiskt i systemutvecklingsarbetet. Om tekniker inte används undersöks vidare vilka orsakerna till det kan vara samt om systemutvecklare eventuellt utvecklar egna tekniker.För att undersöka problemområdet har ett antal intervjuer genomförts med systemutvecklare.

Many scientists agree that phytoestrogens could have an effect on the reproduction of an animal. The question is now why and what mechanisms that play an important role. This paper has been focusing on the estrus behavior of gilts by use of a behavioral study. Some of the gilts were given additional feed with the phytoestrogen genistein which commonly occurs in the feed as a part of soybean products. Blood samples were collected and analyzed for progesterone and estradiol concentrations.

This is a qualitative study about how young men in the age of 16-18 years can construct their masculinity. How do these young men describe a ?real man?? What are their thoughts about themselves as adults? The purpose of this study includes a gender perspective in surroundings that cope with the sport football. To answer this study, six young men in the age of 16-18 years, whom are active football players in diffeRent levels, have been interviewed. The findings showed that the young men seemed to construct their masculinity in cooperation with the surroundings and the nearest family members seemed to have a very strong influence of the boy?s development to become a man.

Examensarbetet undersöker hur mastering påverkar den subjektiva musikuppfattningen. Detta har undersökts med hjälp av ett lyssningstest där testdeltagare i två grupper, ?vana lyssnare? och ?ovana lyssnare?, lyssnat till tre versioner av tre olika produktioner i olika genrer. De tre versionerna är en professionell, en semiprofessionell samt en omastradversion. Testdeltagarna har sedan fått betygsätta produktionen ur ett rent ljudkvalitetsmässigt perspektiv samt motivera varför de betygsatt som de gjort.Resultatet tyder på att musikuppfattningen påverkas beroende på om produktionen är mastrad eller ej för såväl ?vana lyssnare? som ?ovana lyssnare?.

This report is a study in voltagelevel in connection with regeneration of brake energy from the tramtype M31 in Gothenburg.In the act of braking, the tram M31 uses electrical braking where the electrical motors generates energy and if possible send it back to the overheadline, where other trams in the nearby can use this regenerated energy for its own driving force. In cases where no other energyconsumers are located in the same section, there is a resistance witch task is to convert this energy into heat. The regulation of this resistance appears to cause an increase in the voltagelevel into far too high levels.Investigations of the trams regulationequipment and its construction have been done. Further have measurements on the overheadline been performed in order to map the voltagevariations during a longer period of time.The result have been showing that the voltagelevel during regeneration often is as high as 880V-920V, more extreme values have not been observed in a large scale. The values are especially high compared to the nominal voltagelevel.

Climate changing is a growing problem for many countries and communities over the world. The cities has a huge work to deal with in their reforcements of their cities to be resilient ones. This thesis makes an effort to investigate and illuminate some of the problem the cities has to solve related to flooding, hazards, erosions, rising sea levels and crotches. This paper deals with how people use public libraries. An attempt is made to distinguishbetween different user groups on the basis of how they use the library. The roles of thelibrary in relation to its users are also discussed.The paper is based on a user study with the cooperation of 195 users. The user studywas carried out at the Public Library of Alingsås 1994. As material for comparisonsimilar studies from Sweden, but even from Denmark, have been used.

This exploratory thesis uses qualitative research to investigate how digital music is beeing packaged. The main study consists of 11 deep interviews with key representatives of the digital music industry in Sweden. These are (record companies) EMI, SonyBMG, Universal, Warner, (DSP) InProdicon, (mobile operators) 3, TeliaSonera and (cell phone producer) SonyEricsson. Packaging is a concept of marketing that has specific implications depending on which good or service that is being packaged. Packaging occurs at diffeRent levels in the production chain.

Syftet med denna rapport har varit att undersöka om det föreligger några skillnader mellan 5-åriga och 8-åriga barns sätt att minnas detaljer, antingen med hjälp av mentala bilder eller rent verbalt. Som metod användes kognitiv intervjuteknik (KI) och ostrukturerad intervjuteknik (OI). Barnen fick tillsammans se två korta sketcher från en film med Herr Gunnar Papphammar. Femton minuter senare intervjuades barnen antingen med den kognitiva intervjutekniken eller med den ostrukturerade. Resultatet visade endast en signifikant skillnad när det gäller barnens ålder och hågkomna detaljer.
