My problem comes out of the bigger question ?why the Catholic church is featured in horror films whenever a religious organization is in one?? I have detected in the horror films that I've seen that when a religious organization is in a horror movie it's the Catholic church that gets to act as church and Religion. I have chosen the following problem: How is the Catholic church presented in the horror movies The Exorcist and The Rite, and how can one understand these presentations from a role theoretic perspective?Since role theory has it's background in the world of the theater with it's actors and roles, it came naturally to use role theory, and specifically Goffmans dramatic model. I've used this model in a film analysis of the movies.

The parrot is a common symbol, or even cliché, in Western literature, going all the way back fromancient Greece to the present date, and in many a genre. This study reads the oeuvre of the NobelPrize winner Samuel Beckett (1906-1989) as being closely related to these certain traditions andconnotations of for example religion, satire, and speaking nonsense, in his frequent use of parrotsand their symbolic potentials, in his writing. Furthermore, it is possible to distinguish a movementin Beckett?s use of parrots, from a more or less traditionally use, to one more philosophicallyprofound.Although the parrot graces us with its presence (or at least may be traced) in almost everywork written by Beckett, from the poem ?Whoroscope? (1930) to How It Is (1961), they are onlymentioned sparsely by his interpreters. Therefore, a brief history of the literary tradition of theparrot will be expounded.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this essay is to analyze and discuss the razors? and tweezers? roles and dualism between them in the Nordic Bronze Age societies. This paper is an attempt to investigate what these little things can tell us about the people that were buried with them. For this purpose I have examined material of burial that consist of finds of razors respective tweezers and their connection with artefacts in the graves. I have done a comparative and contextual study together using quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate their roles and dualism.

Denna studie tar del av lärares och elevers erfarenheter och uppfattningar till datorspel i religionsundervisningen. I studien intervjuades fyra elever och lika många gymnasielärare i grupper om två. Elever som intervjuades går sitt sista år på olika program. Lärarna har minst fem års arbetserfarenheter och fokus ligger endast på datorspel som har tillämpats i undervisningen och som har potential att tillämpas inom religionsundervisningen.Resultatet visar på att lärarna i denna studie är skeptiska till att tillämpa datorspel i religionsundervisningen. Endast en av de fyra lärarna hade tillämpat datorspel i religionsundervisningen.

This graduation thesis aims to give a survey of how cultural property is protected withininternational law and how these protections worked during the conflicts in the formerYugoslavia and later at the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY.Cultural heritage is important symbols for ethnicity, religion or political views. Because ofthis cultural property has been targeted in armed conflicts as long as can beremembered. The protection of cultural property within international law has developedfrom the midst of the 19th century up til today and is still developing towards strongerprotection. One of the latest armed conflicts where the cultural property became targetedwas the wars in Yugoslavia in the 1990?s.

Uppsatsen handlar om hur religion kan användas samt komma till uttryck i hårdrockstexter. Undersökningen har skett genom analys av åtta olika låttexter, som belyser olika aspekter av religionen. Analysen tog fasta på texternas religiösa budskap, användandet av eventuella religiösa metaforer samt hur texterna kan ses som en del av en religiös mångfald. Metoden som har använts är en kvalitativ textanalys med en hermeneutisk utgångspunkt. Som teori valdes Rodney Starks ?fortlevnadsteori? som utgår från den ?rational choice?-teoretiska modellen.

Syftet med vår uppsats är att vi vill ta reda på hur några lärare resonerar kring hur de arbetar med värdegrundsfrågor i ämnena svenska och religion i relation till demokratiuppdraget om att fostra elever till goda samhällsmedborgare. Vår studie bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer med fem lärare som vi sedan har tolkat och analyserat utifrån en fenomenografisk metod. Våra intervjuer har spelats in, transkriberats och därefter tolkats samt analyserats in i kategorier efter olika teman. Resultatet visar att våra informanter uttrycker vikten av att föra ihop såväl kunskapsuppdraget som fostransuppdraget och att det är viktigt att belysa och förmedla olika demokratiska värden som berör respekt och människors lika värde samt att ständigt arbeta med att motverka fördomar. Vår studie visar även att värdegrundsfrågor och demokratifrågor lämpar sig bra att arbeta med i såväl svenskämnet som i religionsämnet, vilket våra informanter ser som en stor fördel.

Syftet med min uppsats var att undersöka hur urkunderna används i religionsundervisningen på gymnasiet. Dels av lärare och dels hur läromedlen handleder läraren till att integrera urkunderna i sin undervisning. Till bakgrund för min uppsats studerade jag hur och vad didaktiker föreslår som lämpliga arbetssätt för integrering av urkunder i undervisningen, men även vilka fördelar som urkunderna kan bidra med i undervisningen till tillexempel källmaterial, i jämförande analyser och förståelse för religionernas ursprung. Jag valde att använde mig av en kvalitativ studie eftersom den lämpade sig bäst för mitt syfte. För att få ett vidare perspektiv på min undersökning genomfördes både en litteraturstudie och en intervjustudie.

Bakgrund: Varje år dör mellan 90 000 och 100 000 personer i Sverige varav en större del behöver vård i livets slutskede. En lugn och värdig död har skildrats med ett holistiskt synsätt där man ser hela människan, där närstående och familj inkluderas. Samtal som berör patientens framtid och sjukdom är av stor betydelse vid i livets slutskede. Smärtlindring och annan form av individuell vård bör beaktas för att upprätthålla livskvaliteten hos patienten i livets slutskede.Syfte: Att belysa hur hälsa och ohälsa beskrivs av patienter i livets slutskede.Metod: Litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats. Vetenskapliga artiklar har analyserats utifrån kvalitativ manifest innehållsanalys där meningsbärande enheter tagits fram och skapat ett resultat.Resultat: Informanter beskrev att de vill leva så normalt som möjligt trots situationen.

SammanfattningSyftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva orsaker till arbetsrelaterade stressupplevelser och hur dessa kan hanteras hos sjuksköterskor inom slutenvård.En beskrivande litteraturstudie valdes för att genomföra studien. Femton vetenskapliga artiklar granskades, bearbetades och sammanställdes.Huvudresultatet av litteraturstudien visade att sjuksköterskor upplevde stress i sitt arbete och dessa upplevelser berodde på följande faktorer: otillräcklig utbildningsnivå, arbetsbelastning och tidspress, brist på resurser, fysisk belastning, tidsbrist, skiftarbete, ledning och utbrändhet.  Upplevelser av att arbeta skift ledde till stress med känslomässig utmattning och påverkade negativt sjuksköterskans privatliv. Sjuksköterskor upplevde att deras arbetsrelaterade stress beror på avsaknad av stöd från ledningen. Utbrändhetsymtom, enligt sjuksköterskor, yttrade sig i lågt arbetsengagemang, negativa känslor och missnöje. Huvudresultatet visade även att i hanteringen av arbetsrelaterad stress använde sig sjuksköterskor av följande copingstrategier: avståndstagande, självkontroll, problemlösning, positiv omvärdering samt diskussion med kollegor.

This case study examines how a group of upper secondary school students in a multiethnical suburb of Stockholm reason about the theory of evolution. The theoretical background of the thesis is postcolonial and the questions raised were how spread the creationist thoughts are in the group; in what way the backgrounds of the students are relevant to their thoughts; how the students construct the notion of the theory of evolution; how they position themselves and others in relation to the discourse of the theory of evolution; if there are any differences between students at the collage program of natural science and the collage program of social science, and in that case, what differences; and who or what inspires the young in their thoughts about the theory of evolution. To answer these questions both a survey poll and interviews were used. The result of the case study showed that a majority of the students at the investigated school has creationist ideas and that the students profiled on social science have creationist ideas in a wider extent. Another result is that the religious background seems to be relevant to develop creationist thoughts, while the variables gender, home district and educational level did not differ the creationist group from the whole group.

The purpose of this essay is to describe and analyze the debate surrounding the construction of the 2011 years curriculum of the Swedish schools` religious studies. The debate is concerning whether or not Christianity should have a unique position in the curriculum against other religions. The method is to analyze the arguments by an argument analysis. The purpose is also to analyze the argumentation to see how secularization and pluralism have influenced the debate and the different standpoints. The essays material consists of debate articles from the four largest news sites on the internet.The most common argument for Christianity?s unique position is that Christianity has had an important role in the development of the Swedish society, culture and literature and is therefore important knowledge for understanding the Swedish society.

The Act Prohibiting Discrimination and Other Degrading Treatment of Children and School Students (2006:67) entered into force on 1 of April 2006. The purpose of this Act is to promote equal rights for children and school students and to combat discrimination on the five discrimination grounds of sex, ethnic origin, religion or other belief, sexual orientation or disability. This Act also has the purpose of combating other degrading treatment. According to the Act the organiser of the activity shall insure that there is an equal treatment plan that aims to promote the equal rights for children and school students irrespective of the five discrimination grounds. Discrimination is a result of the social norms which tends to exclude people who does not fit in and therefore considerers as being abnormal.
