A variety of demands have to be considered in the design of a new opera house in Galärvarvet. All possible viewpoints are important to be aware of, as is the need for the new building to be a contrast to the already existing opera house in Stockholm. The restricted site also makes a multitude of demands on the building's design.By rationalizing the layout and structure and also by making the footprint smaller, the complex building of over 30 000 square meters can be fitted and blended into the existing physical context. Unlike the existing opera house in Stockholm, the new opera house shows the rationality and the advanced technology that lies behind the scenes and becomes the character of the entire building. Through the dynamic façade, the new opera can convey any character it so desires, just like scenes do through different settings.

Importen av livsmedelsprodukter står för nästan hälften av det som konsumeras i Sverige i dag. Detta står i kontrast till den svenska lantbruksbranschens villkor gentemot de utländska jordbruksföretagen. Svensk livsmedelsproduktion har höga krav när det gäller klimat, miljö och djuromsorg. Med bakgrund av detta bör det finnas goda förutsättningar att vända trenden genom att bland annat lyfta fram matkulturella värde, nya produkter, distributionsvägar och sätt att marknadsföra sina produkter. Genom att möta en diversifierad efterfrågan från konsumenterna är syftet med denna studie att lyfta fram de faktorer som påverkar detaljistens/handlarens val av primärproducerande affärspartners som producerar regional- och lokalproducerad mat. Affärsstrategin relationsmarknadsföring handlar om att uppnå framgångsrika konkurrensfördelar genom att man skapar, underhåller och utvecklar företagets relationer med kunder och andra intressenter såsom t ex. leverantörer.

The Arctic region has not been a topic of discussion or a reason for a conflict in the past, but with the development of environmental issues which has resulted in melting of the ice, so has the interest for the region developed. This has resulted in a conflict over the area, with five countries as main actors. This paper investigates the five main actors? goals with increased influence in the area, using the thoughts of Rational Actor Model, with states as utility-maximizing actors and foreign policy as the expression of national interest. Furthermore the paper investigates the means of getting to the goal, what kind of tools they use.The paper shows that all of the countries are interested in the economically benefits that are buried under the melting ice and the short cuts in sea routes that will be a possibility to use ones the ice melt more.

This paper is an examination of how you as pedagogue can strengthen students self-esteem. I have acknowledge that there are possibilities to do this by the art of dancing. I want to with this paper to give a deeper understanding that shows of how you as a pedagogue can strengthen students self-esteem by using dance at junior level. To answer this question I have used this questions:- Can dance strengthen students self-esteem by the art of dancing and if that is so how can this be done?- What pedagogical attitude can be to an advantage when the goal is to strengthen students self-esteem.I have chosen to use ten qualitative interviews which brings up my questions at hand.

The number of elderly in society is increasing and therefore the number of people with dementia. They continue to live in their homes longer, which also increases the responsibility of district nurses. The purpose of this study was to describe the experiences of district nurses to care for and have responsibility for the care of people with dementia in home care. This paper aims to investigate the embalming process and the Balanites aegyptiaca from two pottery originated in ancient Egypt. The two objects were from Medelhavsmuseet in Stockholm. Samples were collected and analyzed with Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry to identify which components the samples contained. The results show complex mixtures mainly consisting of resin origin from Pinaceae and the vegetable oils from the Balanites aegyptiaca..

AbstractThe ability to read and write is a very important skill in today?s information based society. Most of us learn how to read and write, but not everyone is blessed to do this without struggle. Dyslexia is a very common learning disability and therefore I found it interesting to study how teachers teach students with dyslexia.By studying the literature and by interviewing teachers, I found that dyslexia is a very complex disability. The teachers have to adapt their way of teaching in a way that a student with dyslexia can participate.

The Volvo Trucks plant in Umeå is a highy complex manufacturing facility where the same production line handles a variety of different models. This require flexible and agile processes with high quality standards. This thesis studies the flow of material through a production line and how Volvo can use their existing manufacturing monitoring system to optimize the flow of materials.The goal with the thesis is to identify eventual problems with the flow of materials and to deliver a few proposals on how the production line can improve its productivity. The theory of LEAN, Just-In-Time and Supply Chain Management serves as the scientific reference to this project. By analyzing the flow of material, performing interviews and observing the processes a few problems are identified.

Det här är en masteruppsats i fysisk planering med inriktning omvärldsanalys och strategiskt arbete i kommunal översiktlig planering. Uppsatsen undersöker hur kommuners omvärldsanalyser ser ut samt hur de utifrån dessa formulerar strategier. Vidare undersöker uppsatsen vilka huvuddragen i strategierna är samt vilka planeringsprojekt som kommunen menar ska bidra till att strategin uppnås. Med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys och semistrukturerade personliga intervjuer har två översiktsplaner och en fördjupad översiktsplan för Helsingborg, Malmö respektive Ystad undersökts. Uppsatsen åskådliggör ett tydligt generellt mönster för samtliga undersökta strategier; förtätning genom blandad bebyggelse, marknadsföring och regionförstoring genom gränsöverskridande samarbete..

Syftet med studien är i första hand att göra en undersökning av Piteåpolitikern F. A.(Fredrik Anshelm) Bäckströms livshistoria, med familje- och arbetsliv åren 1866-1935 samt hur han kombinerade dessa. Resultatet från den empiriska undersökningen analyseras och kopplas därefter samman med utvalda teorier omfattande politikers karriärtyp, karriärväg, ideologisk förankring, yrkesroll samt livsform. Den teoretiska forskningsansatsen är hermeneutisk. Källmaterialet utgörs av dokument samt berättande källor.

The purpose of our study was to give girls who are victims of honor related violence a chance to express their needs experienced after the breakup from their families. Furthermore, the study aimed to examine in what extent the girls' needs have been met, how and by whom? The focus was the girls' own experiences thru the breakup from their families and beyond. The issues we wanted to answer were: What needs of help and support does these girls feel that they have? What are the needs immediately after the breakup and how do they look in the longer term? To what extent do the girls have their needs met, how and by whom? What needs experience the girls have not been satisfied? In order to answer our questions, we used semi-structured life-world interviews.

Our aim was to explore employees' experiences of exposure to violence, threats of violence as well as their experiences of encountering victims of violence and to relate their experiences to Sense of coherence (SOC) and Maslach's burnout inventory (MBI).We sent out a questionnaire to employees at three different workplaces. Our questionnaire included previously validated SOC and MBI questionnaires as well as six additional questions regarding violence. We sought to explore the relationships between experience of exposure to violence and encounters of victims of violence and SOC and MBI. We found that employees with a higher level of SOC exposed to violence or threats felt a higher level of security. In encountering victims of violence we found that employees with a lower level of SOC more frequently experienced indifference, fear and anger.

Vilka problem och möjligheter finns det med svensk gastronomisk kultur? Syftet med uppsatsen är att göra en inventering av olika matintressenters åsikter om svensk gastronomisk kultur; vad den svenska gastronomiska kulturen omfattar samt hur den ser ut i Kalmar län. Vi har använt oss av en induktiv ansats för att kunna kartlägga problem och möjligheter med den gastronomiska kulturen i Kalmar län. Fältmaterialet har samlats in från åtta stycken intervjuer.Producentledet är för svagt och utbudet litet av regionala matupplevelser för att marknadsföra Kalmarregionen samlad. Efterfrågan finns på upplevelser med inslag av unik kultur, natur, svenska traditioner, matfestivaler, samt upplevelser med högre kvalité och mer engagemang.

The case method is a relatively new pedagogical method in Sweden that is based on students exercising their skills in the analysis of complex situations and problems that are based in reality and that help students to see a broader perspective and context.The purpose of this study has been to investigate, through interviews with students and teachers, the advantages and disadvantages of the case method in teaching geography.The results of the study show that both teachers and students share almost the same opinion. The conclusion is that the case method is a didactic method that is well suited for teaching geography, as it is based on reality and develops the students? ability to analyze, argue and find solutions in several areas within the subject of geography. If a student is strong in these skill areas they can really benefit from the application of the case method in the teaching of geography, but for students who are weaker in these skills, the case method can be a disadvantage.

Uppsatsen har ämnat bidra till diskussionen om hållbar utveckling genom att undersöka hur begreppet används inom de regionala strukturfondsprogrammen. Utifrån de tre dimensionerna av hållbar utveckling, social, ekonomisk och ekologisk, undersöks hur begreppet har behandlats i de tre regionala strukturfondsprogrammen för Skåne-Blekinge, Stockholm och Mellersta Norrland. Därigenom utreds också huruvida det förekommer några regionala skillnader. Uppsatsen utreder vilka faktorer som har påverkat programinnehållet och ställer frågan om regionernas syn på sig själva och rummet har haft någon betydelse. Vidare har uppsatsen analyserat vad dessa skillnader eller likheter kan komma att få för betydelse för Sveriges regionala utvecklingsarbete.
