This essay deals with development in Latin America. We have picked out some factors that the theories in development theory emphasize on. The first section of the study consists of a statistical analysis, were the main purposes are to study the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent and to choose which two countries we should focus on in the next section. The countries we decided to study were Costa Rica and Nicaragua, because these countries have shown very different levels of development. Systems development methods mirror different organizational perspectives, and not all methods are formalised, but what they have in common is the purpose of structuring and supporting systems development processes. Which method would be the most suitable may be determined by the systems development context at hand, because every systems development context is unique. Information is a valuable asset in today?s organizations, and it needs to be protected against both internal and external security threats. In our essay we aspired to find and present suggestions as to how systems developers can include security in the very design based on formalised systems development methods to create systems that are better prepared to meet the security challenges of today.

Den regionala nivån har med tiden blivit allt viktigare. Både EU:s insatser genom sammanhållningspolitiken och strukturfonderna har tydligt en regional utgångspunkt. Men även på nationell nivå ses den regionala nivån som allt viktigare för olika regionala utvecklingsinsatser. Samtidigt har Sverige ännu inte regionaliserats fullt ut. Nya strukturer staplas ovanpå de gamla och det finns en mängd geografiska avgränsningar och strukturer som för den enskilde medborgaren kan vara svårt att greppa.

This study examines the cultural factors which necessitated the establishment of The Music Archives of Småland in 1991 in the city of Växjö. I wanted to know the importance of the local music tradition and the role of those people who worked to create an institution such as this. In order to do this I interviewed the chief collector of early folk music, Magnus Gustafsson, and made use of literary sources to devise questions and evaluate the results of the exercise. In this study I have made use of a model of a musical culture in a society, created by Lundberg and Ternhag, based on the theory of cultural fields by Pierre Bourdieu. According to this model, the stature of a musical culture gives different forms of musical expression certain roles, but these roles can be remodelled, reflecting perhaps political or ideological influence.

Regionala flygplatser har idag svårt att nå lönsamhet enbart baserat på trafikavgifter från flygbolagen. För att få bukt med detta problem behöver flygplatserna få inkomster från andra delar av flygplatsens komplexa verksamhet. Vi har därför fått i uppdrag av Luftfartsverket att undersöka om regionala flygplatser framgångsrikt kan arbeta med att skapa lojalitet hos sina resenärer vilket kan vara en tänkbar utväg för att öka inkomsterna. Vår frågeställning är därför: Hur ser en regional flygplats förutsättningar och strategiska möjligheter ut för att göra resenärer lojala? För att besvara denna frågeställning har vi studerat befintlig litteratur som berör flygbranschen och lojalitet.

The European Union is a 60 year long collaboration between the European countries. It was born from the intention to ease trade and thereby reassure peace. Within the 60 years EU has functioned it has developed and expanded further. In 1952 it evolved around the trade of coal and steel between six countries, today it includes 27 nations and oversees a large number of topics such as foreign affairs, a common currency and regional politics. EU has grown at several times, the latest expansion was the largest where 12 new countries became members. Denna kandidatuppsats behandlar ämnet reklam i termer av standardisering och lokalanpassning. Avsikten har varit att ta reda på hur Oriflame Cosmetics har valt att standardisera eller lokalanpassa sin reklam inom regionen EMEA (Europa, Mellanöstern och Afrika), samt i vilken utsträckning Oriflames lokala representanter kan medverka i denna process. Fokus har legat på katalogutformningen då detta är Oriflame Cosmetics huvudsakliga tryckta material.Den forskning som presenteras rör särskilt prototypstandardisering (Prototype Standardisation) och schablonstandardisering (Pattern Standardisation) av reklam. Forskare visar också på hur fokus har skiftat från att skilja på fullständig lokalanpassning och fullständig standardisering, till att istället behandla regional standardisering samt vilken roll lokala representanter har i denna process och relationen mellan huvudkontor och dotterbolag.Undersökningen baseras på intervjuer med anställda inom Oriflame som har god insyn i företaget och katalogutvecklingen, samt på sekundärdata inhämtat från finansiella rapporter och dagspress. De huvudsakliga frågorna berörde hur processen för katalogutformandet ser ut samt hur lokala representanter medverkar i denna.De resultat och slutsatser som undersökningen visar på är att Oriflame Cosmetics har en tydlig regional ansvarsfördelning vid katalogutformandet.

The aim of this thesis is to identify and analyse the antagonism between conservation and development which occurs in historical towns.The base of the study is theories in destination development and cultural heritage tourism in historical towns as well as the consequences expressed in these theories concerning conservation and development. The standpoint was that an empiric study needed to complement the theory. This filed study took place in Dubrovnik in Croatia. The thesis identifies the antagonism between conservation and development based on the theoretical research. Moreover the study adds a perspective to the research through the identification of further dimensions of this antagonism.

Many research reports mention the fact that a huge number of all system development projects never reach a successful ending; with other words never fulfil formulated goals. By identifying and forming success factors (and in some aspect risk factors) that the project manager in practice can use, this study may be seen as a step in the direction towards minimising the high number of failed system development projects. The purpose of this research report is to investigate how a system development project, where the development process is based on a specific development or process model (in this case the Waterfall model), can and should be driven. I aim to clarify what is demanded of a project leader for the specific development process and give an account for which eventual leadership qualities that can be well suited for given situation in relation to the need for technical competence. Among other things the project manager should inspire confidence, drive, be a decision maker, engage and own some form of basic knowledge in the field of system development.

In May 2007 a committee called ??Ansvarskommittén??, assembled by the Swedish government, came with a proposal of changing the Swedish regional structure. The committee which consisted of representatives from all the sitting parties in the parliament proposed that the present regional structure consisting of 20 county council districts and 21 counties would be reduced to between 6-9  regions called ??regionkommuner??.The purpose of this study is to analyze how the committee?s proposal balances democratic and economic values by using a qualitative method. The committee?s proposal is analyzed by a comparison in five political areas with two differentiated regional theories called old and new regionalism.
