The increasing threat of climate change has led to a increased need for models to predict future climat. In these models the changes in the soil carbon pools due to changes in microbiel degradation of the organic matter can lead to both positive and negative feedback-effects. There is however a lack of consensues on the temperature respons on degradation soil organic matter. This paper aim to give a better understanding on the factors controlling the temperature respons. The factors studied were the carbon substrate qualitity and the physiological status of the microorganisms.

Background: worldwide interest in and funding for forgiveness research has brought about a body of knowledge from many disciplines that could be clinically useful to social work. At this time forgiveness interventions are used in social work in other countries, primary in the USA. The social workers in the Scandinavian countries need to focus on this important area of inquiry. Method: forgiveness was explored from a philosophical perspective and from forgiveness interventions from a variety of areas suitable for social work.

Within the Swedish school and the public library communities it is generally held as a truth that reading of fiction develops the empathic ability of the reader. This opinion is also expressed in political guiding documents for the school system and cultural sector. This paper's main hypothesis is that there is no assembled theoretic ground for the statement that reading of fiction develops the empathic ability. The investigation consists of two parts, the first being theoretical and the second empirical. Definitions of what empathy and reading is, are reviewed in the first part.

This essay, called Motivation and reading comprehension, is a study of the correlation between the motivation to read and the reading comprehension of Swedish students in their final year of school before university level, meaning that they are eighteen or nineteen years old, sometimes more.The relation between the identity of the individual and the learning process has been a matter of scientific interest for some time, and this essay works in that tradition by investigating the connection between how pupils regard reading and how well developed their ability to decode text is.The reading comprehension is measured through a test that consists of a text from the Swedish epic by Vilhelm Moberg, Invandrarna, where the reader at certain intervals throughout the text is asked to mark the correct word from a choice of three.  I denna studie har jämförelse gjorts mellan Interacoustics Eclipse och GSI Audera i samband med Auditory Steady-State Respons (ASSR) mätningar.Syftet med studien var att undersöka ASSR som metod, att utvärdera dess tillförlitlighet i jämfö­relse med tonaudiometri för personer med normal hörsel och personer med hörsel­nedsätt­ning. Avsikten var dessutom att undersöka om elektrod­placering­ på örsnibb eller på mastoid påverkade mät­resultatet, försökspersonens upplevelse av instrumen­­t­ens ljudstimuli, om de estimerade ASSR-värdena påverkades av att mättillfället påbörjades eller avslutades med Interacoustics Eclipse samt undersöka tiden för mätningarna.En experimentell studie genomfördes. Mätningarna som utfördes var tonaudiometri och ASSR, den senare uppmättes med Interacoustics Eclipse och GSI Audera på (n=20) vuxna med normal hörsel och (n=4) vuxna med hörselnedsättning.För personer med normal hörsel påvisades en god överensstämmelse mellan estimerade ASSR-värden och tonaudiometri för Interacoustics Eclipse, något sämre överensstämmelse för GSI Audera. Genomsnittlig mättid för båda instrumenten var ca 40 min. Resultaten visade att elektrodplaceringen inte har någon påverkan på ASSR-värden för Interacoustics Eclipse.

Dopamine is associated with a range of functions such as reward, motivation and learning. It plays an important role in goal-directed behavior and in maintaining a behavior once a task is learned. As far as the author knows, there are today no publications that discuss the topic regarding the possible link between training and spontaneous blink rate in dogs. Therefore, eight privately owned dogs were included in this study to determine if there was a significant difference in the spontaneous blink rate before and after the process of learning a task.

Inger Edelfeldt (1956) and Bengt Martin (1933-2010) are two Swedish writers of different generations. Both of them did, between the years 1968 to 1983, write about adolescent men coming to terms with their homosexuality. Edelfeldt wrote two versions of the same story, with slight but significant differences, the main being different implied readers (adult versus adolescent). This essay is about two Swedish folk musicians, Anders Rosén and Leif Stinnerbom, who have been playing two important rolls in the developing process of Swedish folk music, on their separate ways. The main part of this work is focused on the era called ?The Folk Music Vogue?, which was the era when my informants were in the limelight on the Swedish fiddler scene of the 70s.Our music culture is constantly lying under the change of progress and I find it interesting to reflect how these kinds of changes are affecting the role of the musician.In this essay I am reflecting on the different perspectives of the musicianship according to my informants and how they both are referring to their role as musicians. The purpose is further on to see how they have been relating to the change of progress on the field of the Swedish folk music during the 70s and up to this date. Throughout interviews with the informants I am analyzing their personal relationship to their life as folk musicians.
