The National Arts Council[1] has made an evaluation on obstacles and success factors for the interaction between culture and school. In the evaluation report they concluded that teachers and cultural workers have different views on culture and knowledge which creates confusion in their interaction. Thus I became interested to investigate teachers and cultural workers views on culture, aesthetics, and the knowledge that they think the students / children / young people should get from culture and aesthetics. This work is based on qualitative interviews with four teachers and four cultural workers. I compare their views with each other and link it to different research perspectives on culture and aesthetics in school to get an understanding of the similarities and differences in their approach, and what implications it can have in the school?s learning processes. In this work, from a didactic point of view, I found that when the teachers and cultural workers are talking about culture, the why-perspective differs.

Jag har valt att göra denna undersökning eftersom det fascinerar mig att undersöka varför det är så vanligt att man som kvinna köper och läser damtidningar. Samtidigt som man möts av en ganska ensidig bild av vad vi vill läsa, och hur vi skall leva lyckliga med hjälp av dessa damtidningar. Hur dessa tidningar skapar bilder och texter och visar upp en mall som vi tror att man blir lyckliga av att leva efter, och vad är det som påverkar oss så starkt att vi köper dessa tidningar. Man vet att det idag är mer jämställt inom manligt/kvinnligt men jag ifrågasätter om det är ett fenomen som även smittat av sig till medierna. Kvinnans roll i samhället ser idag annorlunda ut än vad den har gjort genom tiderna, men på vilket sätt visar det sig i damtidningar som har en stark kraft att påverka kvinnor.

I maj 2005 sändes en TV-dokumentär om kvinnojourerna i Sverige, som orsakade en stundtals hetsig debatt och en intensiv mediegranskning. Här syntes många stereotypa bilder av kvinnor som är aktiva i kvinnojourrörelsen. Syftet med vår uppsats är att undersöka vilka konsekvenser stereotypa bilder får för kollektiv identitet hos aktiva i kvinnojourer, baserat på vilka bilder som de upplever att andra har av dem. Vår teoretiska ram bygger på teorier om kvinnojourrörelsen i Sverige och det motstånd de tidigare har mött, teorier om kollektiv identitet samt teorier om stereotyper. Vår metod består av kvalitativa intervjuer.

Attityders betydelser är en undersökning som syftar till att skapa en förståelse av hur attitydgestalter fungerar i en debattsituation genom att analysera hur ickeverbal retorik såsom kroppsspråk, blickar och gester samspelar med det som uttryckligen sägs. Forskningsobjektet utgjordes av en tv-debatt i SVT Agenda mellan Gudrun Schyman (Fi) och jämställdhetsminister Maria Arnholm (Fp) kring den såkallade ?lönefrågan?, om hur politikerna ska verka för att lönerna i Sverige ska bli mer jämställda mellan kvinnor och män.Analysen visade att Schyman uttrycker många starka negativa attityduttryck som skapar en konflikt i debattens diskursdynamik. Dessa attityduttryck i kombination med vad Schyman säger till Arnholm gör att de båda debattörernas ethos och maktpositioner förändras, där Schyman får ett övertag i debatten som hon kan utnyttja för att till slut vinna den.Frågor som kan vara intressanta för vidare forskning är om Schymans konfliktskapande attityduttryck kan generaliseras till andra retoriker och med vilket syfte det i så fall verkar ske. Sådan forskning skulle kunna nyansera den retorik som framförs i politiska debatter och indirekt bidra till att granska dessa ideologikritiskt..

Swedish childcare has undergone radical changes in the last 15 to 20 years. It has evolved from kindergarten to pre-school, in other words, gone from simple childcare to an active learning environment with the child as the center. Official documents, such as the pre-school curriculum and other guide documents, define the role and work ethics of the pre-school teacher. In my thesis I argue that it is essential to have an ongoing and continuous discussion at pre-schools on the practical applications of these frameworks and ambitious goals.What do you do when you simply cannot give every child the individual time they should have according to rules and regulations? How do you stay an active and present pedagogue in today?s pre-school with large classes and heavy workloads? How do you establish a common professional work ethics within a pre-school so that all children are treated equally? In my scientific essay, I examine these issues based on a real-life situation: Ellen in the hallway.A pedagogue must continuously make balanced decisions based on rules and regulations, on life- and work experience which, in many cases, contradict each other.

The purpose of this study is using McDonald?s in China and Sweden as a case to find out how fast food restaurant retailers combine adaptation and standardization with symbolic attributes of store atmospherics under different cultural background, and find out possible reasons. The study used McDonald?s in a case format to study in-store atmospheres. Further, the research has an investigating and explanatory qualitative approach, collecting the empirical data through observation with photos.

This thesis explores the relationship between the Swedish autonomous left and the terrace culture of European football. It has its geographic starting point in Stockholm, Sweden and follows the three larges tStock­holm football clubs, AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby, and its supporters. The author has followed the football club Hammarby from the terrace for the entire 2011 football season, and has interviewed six political activists who visit, or used to visit, the terrace. The research context this study is incorporated into centres around the history of, and relationship between, the terrace cultures of AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby. Previous research has also focused on the radical potential of Ultras terrace culture (which is derived from Italian supporter culture) and the terrace culture from an intersectional perspective.

The purpose with this study is to examine how the twelve-step program is described by the author J Keith Miller (2004) in his book Steg in i livet and by the author Olle Carlsson (2012) in his book 12steg för hopplösa. The aim for the study is to highlight the twelve steps usage on people without addiction problems. In the study, the two author?s thoughts and experience of the twelve-step program is analysed and interpreted by Pargaments (1997) theory of religious coping. The research questions in this study are: 1.

Invandrarkvinnor är den grupp som har högst arbetslöshet i Sverige. Invandrarkvinnor är även den grupp som utsätts för mest diskriminering på arbetsmarknaden bland annat på grund av deras kultur och/eller etniska ursprung. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur tio invandrarkvinnor själva upplever sin situation på den svenska arbetsmarknaden. Syftet är vidare att undersöka vilka förutsättningar invandrarkvinnorna upplever att de har för att komma in i arbetslivet samt hur invandrarkvinnorna upplever att myndigheter hjälpt dem att komma in på arbetsmarknaden. Syftet besvaras utifrån tio invandrarkvinnors subjektiva erfarenheter och tankar om den svenska arbetsmarknaden samt de myndigheter de har kommit i kontakt med.

This project was a collaboration with Kajsa Bergström. The projected was to develop the French/English deck of cards. We replaced the knight, queen and king with the numbers 11, 12 and 13. We worked with separate aesthetics and solutions after making that common change. I worked on an idea on how to make the cards look slim, by adapting a handcrafted look, full of details.

Detta är en uppsats som bland annat försöker ge förslag på hur man kan skapa ett jämlikt gudstjänstspråk som inte legitimerar mäns överordning och kvinnors underordning. För i dagens gudstjänst talar man om Gud och Jesus/Kristus med manliga ord som utesluter att Gud också har en kvinnlig sida. Trots att det står i bibeln att Gud skapade mannen och kvinnan till sin avbild. I den här uppsatsen har jag med hjälp av den hermeneutiska metoden försökt besvara frågan; Är jämlikhet något för Svenska Kyrkan?Jag har valt att skriva uppsatsen ur ett feministteologiskt perspektiv eftersom denna, i likhet med den hermeneutiska metoden, utgår från erfarenheter.

Denna magisteruppsats i sociologi avser att beskriva och analysera genusforskningens utveckling från det politiska och det filosofiska till det vetenskapliga tänkandet. Anledningen till att denna uppsats kom att handla om genusforskningen var för att ämnet känns aktuellt både ur en privat - och samhällssynvinkel. Dessutom är ämnet genusforskningen något som blir mer och mer uppmärksammat och då genusforskningen i Sverige fyller 30 år känns det angeläget att uppmärksamma det i en uppsats och redogöra för hur viktigt det är att uppmärksamma ämnet och se på världen med genusglasögon. Den teoretiska delen avser att förklara de olika begreppen inom genusforskningen för att läsaren ska få en förförståelse. En analys kommer att genomföras hur genusforskningen har utvecklats från det politiska och filosofiska tänkandet till det vetenskapliga.

Officially, the EU gender policy since 2000 has been guided by the strategy of Gender Mainstreaming. This strategy aims to promote gender equality and is informed by a feminist ontology which stipulates that women are structurally subordinated.In this essay, I examine whether the European Commission has adequately adhered to this gender policy in its free trade negotiations with the ACP (African, Caribbean, and Pacific) countries as part of the Cotonou Agreement. As a result of my text analysis of documents related to the negotiations, opinion pieces by interested actors and policy papers of the EU, I find that the Commission does not act in accordance to its stated gender policy.To explain this discrepancy between policy intent and actions, I employ postliberal feminist theory and Robert Putnam's Two-Level Game Theory Model. By analyzing statistics and published research, I explore how gender issues are being represented politically on a domestic and international level.My findings show that a key cause of this discrepancy lies in the low levels of female participation in the political institutions of the EU and ACP; a lack of participation that is especially pronounced in the area of international economics. In explaining the constraints on female participation and the prospects of full implementation of the EU's gender policy in the international political economy, I emphasize the role of culturally and historically gendered institutions..

This study is about the use of textbooks in teaching English as a second language and about teachers? attitudes and opinions of using textbooks during lessons. The aim of the study is to receive a deeper understanding of the use of textbooks in English teaching and to learn about why teachers choose whether to use the textbook approach or not. The study contains an analysis of the textbooks the teachers in our study used. The analysis shows the actual content and the types of texts together with the design and the structure of the textbooks.

This thesis applies a discourse theoretical approach in order to examine in whatways and with what possible meanings the library at KVINFO participates in the overall gender discourse in society. This means that our reading takes place at a metatheoretical level, focussing on the library as a constructor of meaning in relation to society's gender discourse.Besides the actual reading, the thesis argues for the fruitfulness of using both a discourse theoretical and a feministic perspective in the field of Library and Information Science. By looking at libraries in general through a lens provided by these perspectives, libraries are staged as battlegrounds for competing discourses,that attempt to promote its particular knowledge claim on how reality should be perceived.The reading shows that it is possible to perceive the library at KVINFO as amaterial articulation that takes shape by and is part in a feministic counterdiscourse against the masculinistic hegemonic discourse, which throughout ?hisstory? has positioned women as ?the other?, and established men as the normative category in society, including the libraries. Through its practise KVINFO has contributed to a change in the collective identity ascribed to women.
