Over time, species colonize new areas naturally or through humans. The colonizers areoften few and founded populations represent only a fraction of the genetic diversityexisting in the original population. If the established population becomes isolated afterthe colonization event genetic diversity will remain low and if the population, in addition,remains small in size for an extended period this will lead to increased inbreeding andpossibly inbreeding depression. Metrioptera roeselii is a common species with awidespread distribution in continental Europe. During the last century, it has expanded tothe Scandinavian Peninsula which is separated from continental Europe by the Baltic Sea.My aim was to test the hypothesis that individuals in isolated populations in Scandinaviaincluding Denmark and the Baltic Sea islands are smaller than individuals in thecontinuous part of its distribution due to low genetic diversity and lacking incoming geneflow.

The ability of a dog to perform some kind of practical work, for example hunting or herding, depends among other things on its behavioural characteristics. In animal breeding it is not always easy though to select for behavioural traits. It may, for example, be difficult to identify traits that are not only heritable but also of importance for the dogs' ability to perform the practical work of interest. Moreover, it is often difficult to accomplish accurate measurements of behavioural traits. When selecting dogs for breeding, it is usually preferable to evaluate them using an objective and standardized bahavioural test, rather than results from field trials.

Trots detta dyker då och då färgade lamm upp och ger en ekonomisk förlust då färgad ull inte betalas lika bra. Vit färg har dock visat sig ge störningar i form av fertilitetsproblem och detta har gjort att många ullproducenter iställetinriktat sig på färgade får med naturfärgad ull.

Milkability or ease of milking, has higher importance today for Swedish dairy cattle producers after the introduction of milking parlours and automatic milking systems. Milkability is the cow?s ability to quickly milk out and be completely milked. There are several measures of milkability available. Today the farmer measures the traits subjectively in relation to the conformation scoring of the cow 30-270 days after her first calving.

The goal with our research has been to describe how often and in what way female athletes are represented in the sport section in Sweden?s biggest evening newspaper Aftonbladet. The material we?ve used are the newspapers that we collected during two weeks in 2008, the 3rd of November to the 9th of November and the 11th of November to the 17th of November. We?ve conduced two qualitative researches ? a text analysis and an image analysis ? and one quantitative analysis on our material.

Further we want companies/organizations that use this should be able to make better decisions concerning marketing towards students. Maybe they will get better results on the basis of our investigations. Method: We used the qualitative method when we did the interview that was also non-standardized. The survey was quantitative, and the case study comprises both qualitative and quantitative method.

Tomarps Kungsgård ligger i nordvästra Skåne, i Åstorps kommun, Södra åsbo härad. Gården kom i svenska kronans ägo år 1660, som ett av de så kallade Bornholmska vederlagsgodsen, och lades då till de svenska kungsgårdarna. Under hela 1700-talet och en bra bit in på 1800-talet fungerade gården som översteboställe vid Norra Skånska kavalleriregementet, varefter den har arrenderats ut till lantbrukare. Idag förvaltas den av Statens Fastighetsverk i samarbete med Tomarps Kungsgård HB, som bedriver galleriverksamhet, samt lantbrukare som brukar jorden. Det första skriftliga belägget för någon slags verksamhet vid Tomarp, närmare bestämt fiske i Rönne å, är från år 1303. Troligen anlades det vid denna tid en kvadratisk ringmursborg på platsen för dagens kungsgård.

 Självkänslan och skuldkänslor påverkar människan dagligen och kan ha betydelse för individens välbefinnande. Syftet var att undersöka om självkänsla som är avhängig på kompetens och status samt olika aspekter av skuldbenägenhet har samband med livstillfredsställelse. Etthundraåtta undersökningsdeltagare deltog i enkätstudien och resultaten visade att alla skuldaspekter; trait och state guilt samt moral standards var signifikanta prediktorer för livstillfredsställelse. Dessa resultat gav stöd åt hypotesen och indikerade att skuldbenägenhet spelar roll för livstillfredsställelse. Dock var resultaten angående kompetensbaserad självkänsla mer motstridiga.

The overall purpose of this essay is to come to a deeper understanding about videos in the Youtube beauty community by using a mixture of qualitative and quantitative methods. By answering the main questions of the essay which are; What quantitatively measurable components are there in the videos that can be seen as contributing factors leading to the fact that some generate more views that others?; Is there a set mold for success containing certain aspects that a video must have to stand out?; What correlations can be found between the two categories of analysis and how do these potential correlations affect the popularity of the video? and What effects do specific components on the level of popularity of the video?, we?ve been able to distinguish differences as well as similarities on both qualitative and quantitative levels. We have also seen that using the two methods together have enabled us to reach more profound results. The main result that we have found on a quantitative level is that there are obvious correlations between a high level of popularity and a good visual quality.

This thesis introduces Kongjian Yu?s design approach in terms of industrial heritage conservation in connection to transformation and urban design. The approach is examined respectively on two cases from China and USA. The thesis give a brief introduction to current achievement in conservation research and general profile of industrial conservation practice. Based on case and theory study, Yu?s design approach is carefully applied to an industrial area Nyhamnen in Malmö and a design proposal is produced.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the qualitative aspects of IASB?s Exposure Draft of Proposed Amendments to IAS 37 and to evaluate what quantitative effects an implementation would have on the capital structure of listed companies in Sweden. The major changes of the proposed amendments compared to the current IAS 37 are that the terms ?provision? and ?contingent liability? are eliminated and instead a new term called ?non-financial liability? is introduced. Furthermore, the valuation in current IAS 37 based on a best estimate is replaced by a fair value valuation.
