Successful diversity management has become an increasingly pressing concern for companies and organisations, as the workforce has grown more diverse over the past few decades. Research on whether increased work group diversity has a generally positive or negative impact on results remains inconclusive. It has, however, been established that good diversity management is pivotal in creating conditions for the successful performance of diverse work groups. Although much attention has been directed towards explaining the translation of work group diversity into positive results, less attention has been given to the processes that underlie this translation and the way it is expressed in everyday leadership behaviour. This thesis revolves around a case study, at the Swedish bank Swedbank, which combines qualitative and quantitative elements to explore the successful leadership in nine diverse work groups at the local branch level.

The mobile jukebox is an idea for a new kind of smartphone application that would allow users to dictate the music playing at various establishments. The mobile nature of the innovation allows for the possibility of a more ubiquitous service. Conducting a quantitative as well a qualitative study, the authors have found significant interest in this innovation service among potential users and potential distributors of the service. Furthermore, it is shown what aspects are important for decision makers to make a decision on whether to integrate the service into the operation of potential distributors of the service.  .

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka med vilka teoretiska perspektiv kommunala handlingsplaner för mäns våld mot kvinnor konstruerar en förståelse av våldet.De teoretiska perspektiv av mäns våld mot kvinnor som återfinns i materialet är det feministiska, det psykopatologiska, det systemteoretiska och det ekologiska perspektivet. Materialet har analyserats utifrån ett socialkonstruktivistiskt perspektiv, Haldéns problemfigur samt Christies teori om det idealiska offret. Materialet består av 18 kommunala handlingsplaner utvalda med hjälp av ett systematiskt urval. Dess innehåll har analyserats med hjälp av kvalitativ metod, fortolkning i kombination med meningskategorisering.Resultatet visar att de kommunala handlingsplanerna i själva verket är en mängd olika typer av dokument med olika namn, syfte, innehåll och omfattning. De innehåller också ett flertal olika teoretiska perspektiv med vilka mäns våld mot kvinnor förstås.

Aim: The study aims to investigate the distribution of grades between students in a practical subject and in a theoretical subject.The problem:What is the grade distribution in physical education and mathematics, with respect to gender, socioeconomic background, parental education, ethnicity, and physical activity?Method:To answer the aim of the study a quantitative method was chosen. As the collection method used was questionnaires to 620 students in the 9th grade in Stockholm. Of the 620 questionnaires, 597 questionnaires were used for the static analysis. The method of analysis used cross tables and logistic regression analysis.

The free press is an invaluable part of the democratic society and a pillar stone in the creation of ideas, opinions and norms. According to theories such as agenda-setting and framing the media have a significant influence on people?s perspectives and opinions. With this view of media along with the gender system provided by Yvonne Hirdman as a framework, this study intends to examine the gender representation in Swedish domestic news journalism. The study consists of a quantitative analysis of two major Swedish morning papers, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet, where the gender representation regarding journalists, main news sources and pictures are being accounted for.

Syftet med den här studien är att synliggöra barns perspektiv i en samling och hur pedagogerna bemöter barns perspektiv i samlingen. En kvalitativ forskningsmetod ligger till grund för arbetet och bygger på en fenomenologisk teori. Studiens data samlades in med hjälp av observationer på en förskola norr om Stockholm. Resultatet visar att barnen kroppsligt uttrycker sina upplevelser och erfarenheter av samlingen, där olika former av passivitet och motstånd var förekommande hos barnen. Studien visar även på att barnen ofta söker sig till varandra med avsikten att ingå i sociala gemenskaper, dela glädje och upplevelser.

The purpose of our study is to get an idea of how the media relates to the extremist groupings. On a traditional political scale, ranging from left to right, our study focuses on the Swedish extremists who figure on the outskirts of this scale; The ones who denounce the current system and opt for violence to change it.Violence is often an instrument used to get extreme political ideals in the public eye, and is seen as a threat to the Swedish democracy and the public in general. Both sides argue that the Swedish press is tendentious and treat the various extremist groups differently, airing their distrust for the media as a propaganda tool for these groups to establish themselves in the public debate.Our study consists of a quantitative content analysis where we study articles published in print by seven major Swedish newspapers.

Arbetet behandlar barns tankar och känslor kring kris och sorg, sett ur deras perspektiv. Även hur man enligt barnen ska möta dem då de befinner sig i en svår situation tas upp. Empiriinsamlingen genomfördes genom kvalitativa gruppintervjuer med barn i förskola och skola. Det som starkast framkom under arbetet var att barnen vill bli mötta på väldigt olika sätt. Detta innebär att man som pedagog måste vara öppen för olika reaktioner och ta sig tid att möta barnet samt våga bryta den vardagliga verksamheten..

 The aim with this essay is to examine the individual's expectations in the meeting with a job coach. It has become all more common with job coaches, in order to meet the unemployment in the society. The survey builds on a quantitative method, where 29 individuals who are linked to a changeover-program towards new jobs, have replied to a questionnaire. The survey shows that the participants have expectations on the coach as a supporting function. There is also a trust to that the contact with a coach will lead to new employment.

This thesis is about the effect of political efficacy on societal participation among youths aged 15 to 29. It takes a starting point in the gloomy view of the decline of political participation among citizens in the western world, especially pointing out youths as a threat to democracy. This is a broad subject to take on so my aim becomes a bit more specific. The aim of the thesis is therefore to investigate if belief in ones own capacity and in the responsiveness of the political system affects the actual participation among youths in Europe, independent of a set of alternative predictors. Moreover the thesis is divided into two sub-investigations, one qualitative and one quantitative.

The aim of this study is to examine music teachers' and music students' reflections on the importance of genre spread in music education. The study covers music education in municipal primary schools and municipal music schools/schools of arts and music. I have used both quantitative and qualitative methods in my study.

Vi har i vårt examensarbete undersökt olika arbetssätt och kompensatoriska läromedel som kan underlätta lärandet för elever i läs-och skrivsvårighter / dyslexi i gymnasiet. Genom en intervju med ämneslärare i gymnasiet och specialpedagoger i grundskolan, undersökte vi också om de arbetar ur ett relationellt eller kategoriskt perspektiv, för att underlätta lärandet för dessa elever. In communities today nearly everybody has a Smartphone and they bring it everywhere. What we think is interesting to observ is how people find value in Smartphones and applications. We aim to answer this question through three part questions: where in the buyer process they experience value, what they think is value and if there are any diffrences between the value men and women recive.
