Hanteringsmetoder av reptiler på djursjukhus med hänsyn till stress och skaderisker

It is popular to keep reptiles as pets in Swedish households. The number of households reporting reptile ownership is more than 15 000 (SCB, 2006). This means that a veterinary practice should consider how to take care of reptiles as patients. The aim of this study was to examine literature and studies concerning safe handling and restraint of reptiles as well as the effects of acute and long term stress response and to suggest a simplified plan for handling reptiles in a veterinary practice. The result of literary studies is that common recommendations for safe handling and restraint of reptiles is based on old techniques and experiences from safe handling of wild animals. The main concern is safety for the veterinary nurse and for the reptile. Stress studies indicate that acute stress response is not harmful for the animal i long term. On the other hand studies of the effect of prolonged stress are not conclusive.

Total Quality Management: en jämförelse av prestation mellan TQM och rivaliserande teorier

Denna undersökning behandlar om det finns en skillnad i hur Total Quality Management, TQM, och rivaliserande teorier påverkar prestationen hos företag. Dessutom undersöks om det finns en skillnad mellan de företag som är rutinorienterade gentemot de som är kunskapsorienterade. Totalt skickades en elektronisk enkät ut till 265 företag, inom en snarlik bransch, lokaliserade runt om i Sverige. Totalt erhölls 49 svar vilket motsvarar en svarsfrekvens på 18,5%. I takt med att konkurrensen hårdnar inom affärsvärlden blir det allt viktigare att hitta nya strategier för framgång.

In today s society, services are becoming more and more important. They are however, partly because of their immaterial nature, separated from traditional merchandise, why the marketing and producing of them differs. Quality errors in a service are often difficult to discover before the service is brought to a customer, since the producing and consuming of it often takes place simultaneously. Quality errors in a service process are called service failures or in Swedish tjänstefel. Nevertheless, with an effective service recovery process, dissatisfied customers can be turned into satisfied ones.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to compare and analyze Malmö Aviation and Rica Talk Hotel's service culture. This is done by examining three themes, the organizations ways of working with training, motivation and empowerment of frontline employees.Method: The essay is a case study-based qualitative research which mainly focuses on semi-structured, qualitative interviews with various people within the two organizations.Theory: The theoretical framework considers theory within two sections. The first section, the organizations importance in service quality, focuses on service culture or service climate and different management strategies. Section two, the employees? importance in service quality, focuses on three themes: training, motivation and empowerment of frontline employeesResults: Both Malmö Aviation and Rica Talk Hotel are companies that put great emphasis on developing and maintaining a quality service culture within the organization.

Our study is based on a number of specifically selected incidents which show the consequences these disruptions cause in management, security and quality within the operation. Our intention was also to examine what role the medical technology department of the hospital plays in the care production operation during these unplanned stoppages. Method:Through a qualitative study we have generated material from a number of interviews with staff working in the hospital of Kalmar.

Since 1928 the Swedish accounting and taxation has been closely linked by law which today as the European Union works with its harmonisation of the European accounting systems brings up difficulties. The Union strives to integrate the countries different ways of accounting in order to make it easier to use and understand foreign information. The Swedish connection between accounting and taxation means that a harmonisation would change the whole system as its known today. The purpose with this study is to examine what the link between the two means and how a decoupling would affect Swedish accounting and auditing. We also want to examine how the Swedish taxation office, who currently uses the accounting as a ground for taxation, could guarantee the quality of the declaration without a proper underpinning. The study shows that a decoupling could lead to an increase in quality on swedish accounting and that the administration would become more difficult to handle. The risk of dividend of untaxed profits is not seen as a problem in this context.

En undersökning om bygglovsprocessen och dess svårigheter : Fallstudie Gävle

Bygglovsprocessen kan vara omfattande och ses som en jobbig process för privatpersoner som inte är insatta inom ämnet. Bygglovsprocessen regleras av plan- och bygglagen [PBL].En fallstudie har utförts inom Gävle kommun för att ta reda på om bygglovsprocessen kan förenklas för privatpersoner. För att få en överblick över vad som krävs för att ansöka om bygglov har Gävles bygglovsprocess samt lagar och förordningar granskats.Studien grundar sig delvis på en intervju med Gävle kommun som utfördes muntligt, och delvis på en enkätundersökning som skickades till privatpersoner för att ta reda på vilka steg i bygglovsprocessen som de fann svåra att utföra. Enkäten skickades ut via webben till 341 privatpersoner som ansökte om bygglov år 2013. 125 personer deltog, vilket gav en svarsfrekvens på 36,7 %.Resultaten från studien har fram lett till förslag på förbättringsåtgärder.

Non-profit organizations? communicational challenges in a glocal market? A pre-study to a communication plan for the non-profit organization Humlan.This study intends to examine and analyze the current strategic position of the non-profit organization Humlan, and how the organization can develop their communicational efforts to make themselves more competitive in the glocalized market in which they compete. This has been examined by qualitative interviews with the employees of the Humlan, and a quantitative survey of Humlans potential target group, students. The results of the interviews showed that the employees of Humlan experienced the competition in the market as fierce, and that they experienced a need to communicate their uniqueness as a non-profit organization. The employees also expressed a wish for the Humlan brand to become associated with quality. In turn, the student survey showed that the students had a low knowledge-level regarding Humlan, that they were interested in a wide array of cultural expressions, and that they mainly wanted to communicate with Humlan by taking part of information such as news.In summary, the study showed that Humlan could develop their communicational efforts by creating awareness about the organization and its uniqueness among students.

The purpose of this thesis is to map out and investigate how the banking sector affects a customer?s willingness to change bank, and what the switching costs are for a customer when making these changes. A case study was performed through qualitative and quantitative questionnaires and interviews. The qualitative part was carried out to create hypotheses. The hypotheses was tested in a quantitative survey to be able to either accepted or rejected these them.

The purpose with this essay is to describe how the principal, social worker and the teacher work to prevent bullying at school. The following questions have been discussed:Does the school have an action plan for bullying, and if so, what does it say? Who has the practical responsibility for making sure that the plan is followed, and how does that responsibility work? How is the responsibility divided between the different professions? Are the children in any way active in the planning of the work against bullying? What does the children think about who has the main responsibility for stopping bullying?The method I have used in the essay is individual interviews with principals, welfare officers and teachers from two schools.My results show that the schools have different ways of handling bullying, and different forms of cooperation within the staff. One school have active students in the work against bullying in the form of classmate support (kamratstödjare). The social worker is used in different ways in the work against bullying.

Hjälpande relationer i psykiatrisk öppenvård : en intervjustudie

Background: During the last decades patient satisfaction has become an important measurement of quality in psychiatric care. However the patients are seldom asked to evaluate the treatments.Objectives: The aim is to determine which factors the outpatients regard as beneficial in their psychiatric treatment. The purpose is explorative. During the study another purpose developed; to present research on the importance of the relationship between the caretaker and the caregiver for the outcome.Method: 30 persons were interviewed about what they found helpful in psychiatric treatment. The interviews were open using Grounded Theory as methodological input.Result: The most prominent topic was the quality of the relationship between the caregiver and the caretaker.

Medborgardeltagande : demokrati i planprocessen?

Syftet med kandidatarbetet är att undersöka medborgar- deltagandet i den kommunala planprocessen. I arbetet tas upp vilka dialogverktyg som finns för att få ett bra medborgar- deltagande i planprocessen, hur de kan användas och hur de har använts vid planeringen av ett nytt område. Arbetet försöker att med hjälp av demokratimodeller och planeringsteorier förklara och förstå den typ av medborgardeltagande vi har idag vid planeringen av den fysiska miljön. Medborgardeltagande i planprocessen är obligatoriskt enligt Plan- och Bygglagen. Undersökningar som Boverket (1998) gjorde har visat att ju mer medborgarna får vara med i planprocessen från början, desto större och bättre beslutsunderlag vilket ofta leder till färre överklaganden.
