Detta är en fallstudie där vi har tittat närmare på en specifik mångkulturell F - 6-skola, vad de har för handlingsplan för bemötandet av andraspråkselever och vad skolans lärare har för strategier för inkluderingen av dessa elever. Vi har genomfört intervjuer med totalt elva informanter, bland annat klasslärare, rektor, modersmålslärare och språkstödslärare för att söka svar på våra frågeställningar. Skolan i fråga är mångkulturell och erbjuder andraspråkseleverna mycket stöd. Resultatet i vår studie visar på att modersmålsundervisningen är av stor vikt vid andraspråksinlärning, det arbetar skolan hårt för. De satsar mycket resurser och tid på språkstöd, modersmålsundervisning och föräldrakontakt.

The purpose of this study has been to look how pedagogic process interacts in horse riding lessons. In order to research this problem I have used an ethnographic approach and during a week I observed ten riding lessons in two separate Riding house in the south of Sweden. In my theoretical frame I have used Michel Foucault ?Discipline and punish? as a toll to make clear how dominance and submission is present and active in the horse riding education. The conclusion shows how dominant power rules by its presence and creates submission, stability and feeling of security. The discipline is used to create a feeling that will bring the riders to new experience and develop their talent.

The Production Manager at Atlas Copco AB Craelius wants to adopt a lean approach to become more competitive. This thesis is an exploratory study of the subject and what it means for the business activity and its implementation process.The objective is to provide a basic understanding of lean to the company, and what this means for Atlas Copco AB Craelius. The report describes the industrial revolution in brief. This is because the company itself must understand where certain ways of looking at production management is derived from. Furthermore, it provides an understanding of Lean's origins.

Syftet med detta arbete är att bidra till en ökad kunskap om den ökande frånvaron hos eleverna i dagens gymnasieskola. Målet med detta arbete är att försöka förstå varför en grupp elever med dålig närvaro inte får sin skolgång att fungera. Eleven ska från sin synpunkt få berätta hur denne ser på sin situation i skolan och i hemmet. Resultatet tyder på att elever kan ha varit studiemotiverade och haft lätt för sig i grundskolan, men redan här har understimulans märkts av och i gymnasiets år 1 har sedan kärnämnena kommit som ytterligare repetition. Gymnasieskolan är inte lika snabb att ringa hem vid frånvaro som grundskolan och den dåliga vanan att skolka har blivit slentrian.

The technological legacy from the early electrification of the Swedish railroads has resulted in a power grid with a lower grid frequency than the national power grid from which it is fed. Energy transfer between these power grids with different frequencies requires substations, adapting the grid frequency for the rail road power grid. For this purpose, a feeding power grid has been built, stretching across the country from Boden in the north to Tälle/Häggvik in the south.Power transfer in the Swedish power grid results in voltage angle differences which increase with increasing loads and transfer distance. These voltage angle differences are transferred from the power feeding substations to the rail road power grid, will in some extent cause loss of energy due to unwanted power flows from north to south.To minimize the losses due to this phenomenon, a power management system called EFS 132 kV has been developed and implemented. The system minimizes the unwanted power flows and controls the desired power flow for a good distribution of loads between the power feeding substations.This thesis investigates the extent of the transmission losses avoided due to the EFS 132 kV that coordinates the idling angles to a common reference point.The results indicate that EFS 132 kV affects the power flow, especially between the northern substations through an improved load distribution.

Difficult calvings and stillborn calves are costly for the producer and lowering these frequencies can decrease the costs for the dairy operation. Each calving in the herd is registered by the farmer and stored in a central database. The information is used to monitor the level of calving-difficulties and stillborn calves in the herd and nationally. Monitoring of these registrations is important to detect possible changes. Breeding-value prediction for calving traits is based on the calving information in the database.

Syftet med vårt arbete är att få en uppfattning om hur några lärare använder sig av läxan i undervisningen, samt vilken betydelse de anser den har för lärandet. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ intervjustudie med sex lärare på högstadiet. Resultatet av vår studie visar att lärare använder sig av läxor, och att repetition och innötning är de främsta skälen till att språklärare ger läxa, men även den tidsbesparande aspekten är ett starkt skäl. Att eleverna får träna sig i eget ansvar verkar dessutom ligga i fokus. Lärarna känner även press från föräldrar att de ska ge läxor.

En kvalitativ intervjustudie rörande högstadielärares syn på läxor. Fem lärare deltog. Lärarna ser på läxan som en obligatorisk uppgift. Den syftar framförallt till repetition och minnesträning. Också syften av fostrande karaktär nämns.

Title: How do music students with different genre backgrounds perceive the same music? In this paper I report a study about how music students with different genre background perceive the same music. I let twentyone classical music upper secondary school pupils and twentyone rock music upper secondary school pupils listen to ten short music pieces of different character and styles. While listening, they were asked to answer four questions about which instruments they could perceive, what they could tell about pulse, rhythm and beat in the music, which component they thought was the most important in the piece and what word they thought best described the feeling of the piece. All four questions had to be answered for each piece of music to facilitate analysis of differences connected to genre background in those answers.

The thesis has been written as a part of the Bachelor degree in Industrial engineering and management at the School of Engineering in Jönköping. The work is focused on the part of Husqvarna AB?s supply chain that is associated with the lorry transports to Italy. Husqvarna AB has approximately ten Italian customers, whose delivery patterns have been studied from January 2007 to July 2008. Some of the customers have a low delivery frequency and small amounts of goods that they therefore have not been fully analyzed in this report.

Linux is a growing operating system in embedded systems. Today, Linux is not only in heavy servers but also in cell phones, PDAs, cameras and other devices running on battery power. While current technology is more energy efficient, more and more technologies are implemented into a single unit resulting in an overall increase of power consumption.Low power consumption is an increasingly important feature of a system today. Lower power consumption means lower costs, less environmental impact, and longer life for applications that runs on batteries.This work compiles methods to reduce power consumption of Linux systems. The work includes examining whether the available opportunities are platform-specific or of a more general nature.

Syftet med vår studie är att få en bild av hur elever från år 3 och år 4 uppfattar läxor och pedagogernas avsikter med dessa. Vi har utfört en kvalitativ undersökning där vi intervjuade både pedagoger och elever för att kunna göra en jämförelse mellan deras uppfattningar om läxor. Frågorna vi ställde var helhetsorienterade och höll sig inom samma tema men det har hela tiden funnits utrymme för inflikade frågor under samtalets gång. Enligt pedagogerna och eleverna är läxan en uppgift som görs utanför skolan men som är knuten till skolarbetet. Pedagogerna anser att läxan är till för repetition, färdighetsträning och att öva att ta ansvar.

Med denna uppsats ville jag få en djupare förståelse för de faktorer som påverkar elevernas lust och motivation för att läsa matematik. Undersökningar har visat att många elever anser att ämnet matematik är tråkigt. Det finns många faktorer som påverkar motivation och intresset bland annat lärarens sätt att undervisa, familjens situation, klasskamraternas uppfattningar och attityder, innehållet i ämnet, mm.Resultatet av undersökningen visade att framför allt var det innehållet i ämnet som väckte intresse hos eleverna. Eleverna ville se direkta kopplingar mellan det som de läste i skolan och det som skede i vardagslivet. Det var flera elever som ville ha mer utmanande uppgifter och mindre repetition i matematikboken..
