The purpose of my study is to study Social Democrats immigration policy over the period 1990 and 2013. My material consists of party programs and motions that social democracy has raised in Parliament. As a research method I used McGee´s ideograph theory. I use a cluster analysis inspired by Kenneth Burke to analyze the meaning of those found ideographs. I also present and use Bitzers rhetorical situation in my analyzeWith help of Burke´s rhetorical situation I could see how the Social Democrats' rhetorical approach to immigration policy in the different periods in society.My investigation of the Social Democratic Party program and motions / propositions revealed the following ideographs: Democracy, solidarity, equality and freedom.

In today?s society computers are getting a much more important role. To get a computer to work as intended it has to be programmed. A computer program is written with programming languages. There is an abundance of programming languages available today and there are many differences and similarities between them.

Målet med denna studie är att undersöka i vilken utsträckning och i vilka sammanhang det könsneutrala pronomenet hen används bland gymnasieungdomar, i förhållande till redan etablerade neutrala uttryck som exempelvis den, han eller hon och vederbörande. Dessutom söker studien upptäcka eventuella skillnader i attityder och bruk av hen mellan olika grupperingar. Finns det kopplingar mellan graden av acceptans respektive bruk av hen och graden av språklig, kulturell inriktning i de gymnasieprogram eleverna går? Sammanlagt 200 elever på gymnasieskolan har i en enkätundersökning fått svara på frågor om hur de förhåller sig till hen och andra könsneutrala pronomen, såväl i sitt eget språkbruk som i acceptansen till andras. Hälften av eleverna går på ett program med språklig och kulturell inriktning och hälften på ett program med naturvetenskaplig inriktning.

The aim of this study was to gain a comprehension of managers experience of their identity and their construction of identity in the work sphere. 14 semi-structured interviews were performed with managers in the public sector. The interviews were analyzed from a hermeneutic approach. The results showed that the managers´ experience of their identity and their construction of identity were full of nuances and was characterized by a being and a becoming. The managers had several social identities at their disposal, which were brought to the fore due to the situation.

This master thesis was made to investigate the possibilities of using the Matlab-basedsoftware Basegrain to determine grain size distributions of erosion protections onhydropower dams. Basegrain is a photogrammetric tool developed to generate grainsize distributions and other information about coarse flood sediments by analyzing adigital photo of the stone bed. The investigation was made by validating the ability forBasegrain to assess grain size distributions of various materials smaller than the blocksused in an erosion protection by comparing sieving results or manual measurementswith the results obtained by the program. A statistical comparison was then made bycomparing the results from sieving and the program. The possibilities of using thesame method on existing hydropower dams were then investigated by determiningwhether the method was practically viable or not.The results showed that Basegrain generated grain size distributions for coarse gravelthat were very close to the sieving results.

"The choreography of fear" is a discourse-analysis study which focus at how young men speaks about fear, threat and violence in the public everyday life. The study adopts socialcontructionism as theoretical approach and also uses theories about gender, hegemony masculinity, fear as a social constructed phenomenon and moral-panic. The study is based on qualitative interview whit young men in age 18-30 and the method is mainly discourse-psychology. The section of Analysis discuss subjects as what and whom the young men consider to be a threat and which areas in the public space they consider to be dangerous and how they choose to handle the menace. The Analysis also focuses on how the informants speak about fear, how they define fear and what they consider arouse fear..

Over the last decade the conversation on entrepreneurship has been both worldwide and intense. In Sweden, as in many other countries, this conversation has also concerned women?s entrepreneurship. Parallel with this conversation has been the debate on women in leading position in large corporations. This thesis aims to find out why and how women use entrepreneurship to handle existing conditions in life (such as the hardship of combining a traditional career with a traditional family life) and to create new conditions that suit them better.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur grupper inom en industri skiljer sig från andra typer av arbetsgrupper från en större population. I den här studien användes Team Diagnostic Survey (TDS). TDS instrumentet används för att mäta faktorer som anses vara avgörande för gruppens effektivitet enligt en modell av Hackman (2002). Den statistiska bearbetningen visade på 12 signifikanta skillnader. Skillnader visade sig inom följande områden: compelling direction, enabling direction, supportive organizational context och available coaching.

This essay aims to broaden the understanding of intolerance towards people with religious and/or cultural Islamic association or background. This thesis has intolerance and Islamophobia as central components and starts with the question: In what manner do twelve pupils talk about Islam and Muslims in their third year of the vocational program, in small towns and in the countryside? The survey took place in the south of Sweden in a rural municipality where a total of twelve students from the industrial, electricity and vehicle program in the Swedish gymnasiums participated in two separate focus group interviews. The essay will use an intersectional analysis to see where the students position themselves and Muslims in relation to each other and to society. The essay also contains a comparison of Islamophobia in the country side and in the city environment.

Bakgrund: Konsumtionen  av sötsaker, läsk, energidryck och snacks kan vara relaterad till olika slags sjukdomar  på grund av  energi-  och fettmängden  samt tillgången till dessa livsmedel.  Kunskap om  konsumtionsmönster  och konsumtionsplatser  för  dessa  livsmedel saknas för gymnasieelever. Syfte: Målet med denna studie var att kartlägga gymnasieelevers konsumtion av sötsaker, läsk, energidryck och snacks. Metod:  En tvärsnittsstudie med tio enkätfrågor om konsumtionsmönster och konsumtionsplatser för  sötsaker, läsk, energidryck och snacks genomfördes på 74  gymnasieelever i årskurs två under två dagar.  Resultat:  I resultaten kom det fram att det vanligaste stället att köpa sötsaker och läsk som konsumerades på skoltid var vid elevfiket. Det som konsumerades på fritiden var vanligast köpt i affärer. Det framgick också signifikanta skillnader i hög- och totalkonsumtionen mellan könen och mellan praktiska och teoretiska program.

Sverige är sedan länge en demokrati där medborgarna deltar efter demokratiska principer. Skolan har som huvuduppgift att förbereda elevens deltagande i samhällslivet, därmed är skolan en verksamhet för elevens eget inflytande och ansvarstagande. Undervisningen ska bedrivas under demokratiska former där eleven ska kunna vara med och påverka. Elevinflytande betonas i skolans styrdokument. Olika studier har visat att eleverna har fått ett ökat inflytande i skolan men inte i den utsträckning som förväntas i en fungerande demokrati.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate an existing user interface. The company in question has a web-based user interface (available through logging in via their website), but they are interested in making the process of using the interface more convenient and the interface more accessible, so that users without a background in computing can properly manage the interface. At the same time they want to apply additional functionalities in order create and to manage increased traffic on the company?s website. For this reason it is important to take into account the issues involved in human-computer interaction (HCI) as well as aspects of cognitive psychology in order to make the tool and the web interface more usable, more motivational, and therefore more efficient and professional.

Our population are ageing. As this happens more people will be in need of long term care facilities. We now know that some elderly people with certain background factors are more likely to be injured or sick. One of the four biggest background factors is fall propensity. Most of the reported falls come from long term care facilities, approximately 60 % of the care takers in long term care facilities fall one time or more each year.

Syftet är att synliggöra erfarenheter av det språk som talas på den arbetsplatsförlagda utbildningen inom två yrkesförberedande program på gymnasieskolan. Studien inriktar sig på att undersöka elevens förberedelse inför kommunikativa situationer i yrket samt att förmedlaen bild av hur språket tillämpas på den arbetsplatsförlagda utbildningen. Studien har utgått från tre olika urvalsgrupper: praktiksamordnare, yrkeslärare och elever inom två av gymnasieskolans yrkesförberedande program: Bygg- och anläggningsprogrammet samt Fordons- och transportprogrammet. Datainsamling har genomförts genom sju semistrukturerade intervjuer. I resultatet framkom att språket har betydande roll i elevens yrkesutveckling och framtida anställningsbarhet.

The main intention with this study was to explore how parents, employed in three Swedish small- and medium-sized companies, experienced their combination of work and parental leave. The investigation was carried out by a questionnaire, and the 21 participants estimated the attitude from and the treatment by mainly the management and the colleagues. The answers were analyzed both from a perspective of gender and in the aspect of high- and low utilizers of parental leave. The results showed that although both men and women generally estimated the attitude from the management and the colleagues towards parental leave to be positive, the parental leave was divided traditionally and unequally between the parents..
