The management at the City of Stockholm?s Sports Department have problems. During recent years several IT-Projects have been launched but results are worse than could have been hoped for. The Projects are generally perceived as being too expensive, too time consuming and not to have delivered the expected results. This thesis aims at giving the City of Stockholm?s Sports Department theoretically based advice on how to improve their management of IT-Projects.

The purpose of this essay was to in a specific Project for unemployed youths between 18 and 24 years, from an ecological point of view, examine how the youths experienced their unemployment and also to compare the purpose and structure of the Project with the participants' experience.Important questions in my essay were how the unemployment affected the youths' identity and social circumstances, if the participants found the Project meaningful, and experienced that they could influence how the Project was formed, if the purpose of the Project was in accordance with the youths' experience and how the ecological perspective could be used to understand the situation of the youths.To answer these questions one interview was made with one of the employees and five interviews were made with participant youths.The results of the essay was that the youths' experience of the Project were very much individual. All of the participants found something in the Project meaningful and most of them thought that it was possible to influence the Project in some way. Something that both the youths and the employee pointed out as important was the employees and their supporting role..

The purpose of this essay is to compare two investigationProjects /evaluationProject (BBICOHPeL) regarding theoretical anchoring and operationmethods. Important questions in our research has been: What from BBIC can be found in the OHPeL-Project, what has become of the fundamentals in BBIC when they have been introduced into this new context, has the ecological development theory remained in the OHPeL-Project, is it possible to say that the OHPeL-Project is a further development, distortion or something completely different from BBIC. To find answers to our questions we have studied 17 protocols from evaluationmeetings in the OHPeL Project. This led us to the results that BBIC in many ways are present in the Project. There are also differences between the Projects.

In recent decades, Project based work form has taken a dominant role of work for many companies. Developments in the field have progressed rapidly and research has contributed to more efficient working practices. This study describes the elements that a Project manager should keep in mind when he leads a Project without actually being physically present, complex factors occurred and the basic approach to encounter them. The aim of this report is to examine factors that arise in the context of coordination at a distance and how companies, in their daily work, surpass these obstacles. The study does not include cultural differences, time zone differences and language differences, all very common in Project management at distance.

How Projects are managed can have a big impact on the Project`s result. There are different types of frameworks on the market whose purpose is to help Project leaders to pursue a successful Project. Those frameworks focus on larger product development Projects and both the literature and companies have addressed that the frameworks are too comprehensive for smaller product development Projects. They have therefore asked for a framework that is more suitable for those smaller Projects. To complete a Project on time and to the planned cost is important in both larger and smaller product development Projects.

The purpose of the study was to examine how teachers and children interpreted the Project and understood its values. To this end, it was necessary to focus on four defining parameters which affect the investigation: structure of pre-school Project work, content and delivery, the methods used by teachers during the Project, which pedagogical documentation was used (and how), and how the Project determined the approach, the curriculum goals and values. Using a qualitative approach, regular unsystematic observations were made over five days, during which three teachers, two pedagogues, two pre-school teachers, and one nanny from the same kindergarten were interviewed regarding children in three age groups: 1-2 years old, 3 years old, and 4-5 years old. The results of my investigation showed that the teachers were divided on how to apply the Project as a working method. Children's active role in the pre-school Project varied depending on the extent to which teachers adopted children perspective in everyday practice.

In a global economy it is important to understand what Project management is and how it functions in a contemporary company. This report includes an empirical case study of a Project flow, which was conducted in the department Packaging Concept (PC) which is a part of Stora Enso. As all of PC´s customer enquiries are unique and must be considered an individual Project, PC continuously works in Projects. An analysis of the Project flow was conducted based on interviews at and visits to PC as well as relevant documents distributed by the department. The report gives an understanding and analysis of how PC works in Projects.

The purpose of this paper has been to describe the Project manager's experience of the customer relationship in customer order Projects. A qualitative interview study has been conducted in which seven Project managers were interviewed. A thematic analysis resulted in four overall themes. The results showed the importance of a clear, responsive and open communication as well as a large degree of customization to meet the customer the best way as possible. The experience was also characterized by a dynamic relationship and the importance of the customer's expectations.

There are lots of theories about participatory democracy, but rather few examples of how to create it in practice. In the 1930´s, scientists at the Chicago School, implemented some Projects within the Chicago Area Project, with the aim to decrease the youth delinquency in the socio disadvantaged areas surrounding Chicago. In this thesis, I assess wether these Projects, and in particular the one at the Russell Square Area, have some common features with the thoughts of two of the most famous participatory democrats, Carole Pateman and Benjamin Barber. My question is if the Chicago Area Project could be seen as an experiment in participatory democracy. I find that participatory democrats could benefit from the experiences of the Chicago Area Project.
