Ever since Thomas More?s book Utopia was published in 1516, theutopian idea has not lost its topicality and has been strongly rootedin literature, art, film and architecture. Utopia can be seen as a statein which utopia allows a space for wishes, dreams and a desire forsomething better. In my degree project I have chosen to explore thehistorical utopian ideas to create a content that treats utopia on asubjective level. This thesis has created an image of the exchange of information among teachers in the Swedish upper secondary school. The study indicates that the exchange of information seems to be limited at all levels and the exchange that takes place outside the own teaching team occurs mainly through teachers personal networks. Dagens grafikkort är uppbyggda av kraftfulla multiprocessorer som gör dom ypperliga för att hantera parallelliserbara problem som skulle ta lång tid att utföra på en vanlig processor, så som exempelvis level-of-detail eller raytracing.Denna rapport presenterar en parallelliserbar level-of-detail algoritm för terränghöjdkartor samt implementerar denna för användning på grafikkort användande Nvidias CUDA API. Algoritmen delar upp den totala höjdkartan i sektioner som ytterligare delas upp i mindre block som beräknas parallellt på grafikkortet. Algoritmen räknar ut vertexpositioner, normaler och texturkoordinater för vardera block och skickar datan till applikationen som skapar vertex och indexbuffertar och renderar sektionerna. Implementationens prestanda och förmåga att reducera trianglar analyseras med två olika sorters culling-metoder; en metod som gallrar trianglar på sektionsnivå och en metod som gallrar på blocknivå.Resultaten visar att det är mycket fördelaktigt att låta grafikkortet hantera level-of-detail beräkningar på detta vis även om minneskopiering över grafikkortsbussen är ett problem, då det tar upp ungefär åttiofem procent av den totala tiden för att hantera en sektion. Beräkningarna i sig tar väldigt lite tid och det finns gott om utrymme för utveckling för att uppnå en så bra fördelningen av trianglar över terrängområdet som möjligt..

The aim of this report is to give a description of a diploma work of 20 points that has been performed during the spring 2006 at Ericsson AB in Borås. The report accounts for the problem and procedure during the diploma work. The software used for this project was embedded in a radio link. The RAM in this radio link was divided into several regions where two were used for memory allocation. The current allocation of memory in the radio link was not optimized with regards to performance, security and memory use and the configuration used made it difficult to determine the memory use of the system and the actual memory need.

Utgångspunkten för min uppsats har varit en dokumentation av ett rollarbete på skolan, en slags dagbok. För att få innehållet i uppsatsen så autentiskt som möjligt har jag valt att inte göra några förändringar i efterhand. Jag har under skrivandets gång dragit en hel massa slutsatser och skulle jag efter alla de insikter som förändrat min syn på teater och hur man repeterar förändrat uppsatsens innehåll skulle den i mina ögon vara förkastlig. Active headsets have been on the market for years and now it is time for something else to enter the stage. The technology of active noise reduction can for exmple also be used in ventilation systems for reducing ventilation noise. An active control system principally consists of four important components, namely the downstream error microphone, the upstream detection or reference microphone, the digital signal processor (DSP) and a loudspeaker. The upstream reference microphone listen to the primary ventilation noise and sends it to the DSP which makes a phase shift to the signal and sends it to the loudspeaker. The loudspeaker sends out the opposite waveform of the incoming one and reduce the primary ventilation noise.
