Detta fördjupningsarbete handlar om anskaffning av tjänstehundar till polisen och de aktuella problem som finns att hitta bra och lämpliga valpar. Fördjupningsarbetet beskriver de olika krav som ställs på hundarna, hur de lämplighetstestas och vad de bör ha för egenskaper för att vara lämpliga. Arbetet handlar även om fodervärdar och hur viktigt det är att få tag på bra fodervärdar till de blivande polishundarna. Att det inte finns någon statistik över kassering av hundar är ett stort problem och något som är under bearbetning..

The aim of this Masters thesis is to investigate how the image of the Public library is described in the Swedish national library politics, and compare it with the image given of the public library in the Danish national library politics. The method used for this analysis is a comparative discourse analysis of the homepages produced by the Swedish central government Regeringen and Kulturrådet and its Danish counterpart Kulturministeriet and Biblioteksstyrelsen. Theories on postmodernity have been used to analyze how the Swedish and the Danish central governments image of the Public library corresponds with a changing society and the changing behaviour of the public library users. Our analysis concludes that the traditional view of the Public library as an institution mainly concerned with literature and reading still is of great significance in the discourse of the Swedish central government. In contrast, the Danish central government presents a more postmodern view of the public library as an institution that is part of the Information- and the Knowledge society.

It is a well known archaeological concern that the remains of human bones left from the bronze age and early iron age Scandinavia are not nearly enough to represent the estimated population of the time. Furthermore the bones of each find rarely represent a whole individual. The majority of the bones must have been disposed of somewhere else, possibly scattered in running waters or in the fields, where they have evaporated or are securely hidden from archaeological excavations.This thesis deals with the grave concept and the problem in using a word that is so very clouded by its modern, western meaning. It also offers an alternative explanation to why the bones are handled the way they are and why they are found in such awkward contexts..

Den teknologiska utvecklingen har bidragit till en ökad globalisering av dagens samhälle. För många företag har detta inneburit att verksamheten fått en alltmer internationell karaktär. Internationaliseringen kräver nya kontakter och företagen ställs inför nya utmaningar då de möter människor med olika kulturell bakgrund.Med denna bakgrund väcktes intresset för vårt problem om att undersöka hur företag i business-to-business-kontext (B2B) identifierar och hanterar problem av kulturell karaktär vid utländska affärsförbindelser. En kvalitativ undersökning av tre svenska företag inom B2B-kontext genomfördes. Företagen som deltog var Pronova AB, Axelent samt Albany International, där respondenten på respektive företag har en framträdande roll vid internationella samarbeten.

RFID-tekniken har under de senaste åren uppmärksammats allt flitigare av företag som tror sig ha användning för det i sin verksamhet. En kategori av företag som skulle kunna ha stor nytta av tekniken är tillverkande industri, bland annat i sin materialhantering. En undersökning visar att många sådana företag vet att tekniken finns men att graden av kunskap om teknikens möjligheter och brister är starkt varierande.Detta arbete har studerat vilka brister och problem som uppmärksammats av de företag inom denna kategori som redan idag använder tekniken. Arbetet har bestått av intervjuer av ett antal sådana företag och även av leverantörer av RFID-utrustning.De företag som ingår i undersökningen inte upplevt några av de problem som arbetet behandlar men leverantörernas erfarenheter visar att problem finns och att det kräver stor yrkeskunskap och erfarenhet för att komma runt dem..

This Masters' thesis is a study on the information behaviour of hospital personnel at the University Hospital in Lund, Sweden. A questionnaire was distributed to 301 nurses and physicians working in the intensive care unit, the population was reduced to 244 persons. The response rate was 52%, i.e. 125 questionnaires were completed. Nurses constituted 68 % of the population.

Samfundet Jehovas vittnen avsäger sig blodtransfusion på grund av sin religiösa tro. Sjukvården ställs inför etiska problem när det uppstår en situation då patienten behöver blodprodukter. För vårdaren uppstår etiska konflikter mellan viljan att rädda liv, medicinska och juridiska aspekter samt patientens autonomi. Syftet med vår uppsats är att belysa de etiska problem som vårdaren kan möta i sjukvårdspraxis. Metoden som använts är en kvalitativ litteraturstudie och bygger på fyra vetenskapliga artiklar och en avhandling.

The objective of this Bachelor?s thesis is to investigate how the public library in Luleå has set about implementing an alternative classification system for its children's books section and to explore why this was done. We wanted to investigate both how they have adapted the new system to the children's own way of seeking information and the library personnel's experience of using the new shelving system. We have done seven interviews to answer these questions and our choice of literature is intended to put the process of change into a wider context. The answers show that the library was dissatisfied with the former system and have instead expressed a desire to shift the focus of their classification system to their users.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to study an electronic reference service from a user perspective. By qualitative interviews with eight students the thesis examines their information behaviour, why and when they use the service, the user?s experiences of the service and the communication with the librarian. The users have all used the Swedish electronic reference service Fråga biblioteket ? Forskningsbibliotek.

Background: Many people within the health care system experience uncertainty. Uncertainty can be described as a feeling, a condition or as a phenomenon. Uncertainty is often associated with stress and an emotional burden among patients. It?s important for the nurse to have knowledge about the expressions of uncertainty to get a higher appreciation for the patients? situation.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to examine how some university students, who are using the libraries extensively, use and experience the public and the university library and what they expect from the two different library types. I also compare their expectations with the different tasks and aims of the two library types. To answer this I have interviewed seven students at the department of history of literature at Göteborg University. I have also studied some literature and research related to this subject, for example user studies about students and libraries and the information behaviour of distance students.

De senaste årens forskning har tydligt visat på elevers svårigheter att utveckla begreppsförståelse inom ämnesområdet genetik. I denna studie har jag valt att intervjua lärare i några svenska gymnasieskolor för att undersöka om de identifierar samma problem med genetikundervisningen som finns dokumenterade i forskningslitteraturen samt hur de arbetar för att eleverna skall nå uppsatta kunskapsmål. De intervjuade lärarna bekräftar samtliga av de huvudproblem som forskningslitteraturen utpekar. Eleverna har svårt att utveckla begreppsförståelse inom den grundläggande genetiken. Detta leder bland annat till en mycket begränsad förmåga att, på basis av genetisk kunskap, ta ställning i frågor som rör gentekniska metoders tillämpningar.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how municipal archivists/records managers seek and use information in their daily worklife. Two mayor questions were addressed:1. What information resources and information channels do the respondents use in their daily worklife and which functions do these fulfil?2. How do the respondents experience their information seeking in relation to the work role and the tasks in the municipal organisation?A qualitative method with interviews was used.

The purpose of this study is to find out, explore and see how children with neuropsychiatric problems like ADHD/DAMP are portrayed and treated in five fictional children?s books written by writers who all are related to ADHD issues, except for one writer.I have done a text analysis performed on five children?s books which can be found in libraries in most of the libraries in Sweden. The analysis shows varying results between the five books followed by a general conclusion about how children with concentration problems are being presented in these chosen children's literature. The main problematic of this study is to examine how these characters are being represented and treated within the scopes of school, family relations and how ADHD/DAMP symptoms are portrayed. This study focuses on analysing how the actual ADHD/DAMP behaviour is being reflected and better understanding for the reader to understand the symptoms of ADHD.Another fact is what kind of relations these children with neuropsychiatric dysfunctions are portrayed when facing with other persons, such as family and friends and how ADHD/DAMP is affecting them daily basis.

Syfte: Att få en djupare förståelse för vilka problem som finns med det arbetsplatsförlagda lärandet för byggelever på gymnasieskolans byggprogram. De frågeställningar som jag har arbetat för att få besvarat i min undersökning är: 1. Vilka problem finns med hur handledarskapet ser ut på byggföretagen?2. Vilka problem finns med matchningen mellan gymnasieskolans teoretiska undervisning jämfört med det som eleven får utföra?Metod: Studien är genomförd som en kvalitativ undersökning där data samlats in genom personliga intervjuer med chefer och handledare på byggföretag.Resultat: Det framgår i studien att handledarna oftast är outbildade inom handledarskapet och att detta med stor sannolikhet är relaterat till att handledarutbildning inte efterfrågas från skolans sida och att relevant information om handledarutbildningar inte tillhandahålls gentemot byggföretagen. Samtidigt finns ett problem i att byggarbetsplatserna har tidsbrist, vilket kan yttra sig i att även om man försöker arbeta med god pedagogik så finns inte tiden för detta alla gånger. Hur man ska göra för att överkomma detta framgår inte i studien.
