Independent schools are a central issue in the school world, the perception of independent schools varies and many people express opinions about them in the media. An independent school is according to the National Agency a school that has a different principal than the county or municipality. Independent schools may not charge fees but their revenue comes from municipal grants from municipalities (Berglund 2007, p. 10). An independent school can be driven by an association, foundation or company and to run an independent school requires a permit from the Education Department.The purpose of this paper is to see how four principals at independent schools with a Muslim profile are working to strengthen their students? Muslim identity in relation to the society they live in and how schools work with value issues.

Studiens huvudsyfte är att undersöka hur skuldsättningsgraden och ägarstrukturen påverkar företagsvärdet för företag noterade på Stockholmsbörsen. Vidare är studiens bisyfte att undersöka om resultatet skiljer sig åt för potentiella överinvesterare. De metoder som används för att uppnå studiens syften är OLS, tvärsnittsregression, signifikanstest och kontrollvariabler. Grunden till studiens teoretiska bas utgörs av tidigare forskning inom agentteorin samt teorier om företags kapitalstruktur och ägarstruktur. Studieobjektet utgörs av 127 företag noterade på Stockholmsbörsens A- och O-lista under år 2004.

This essay deals with the topic options costs and whether such costs would arise for smaller companies now when they have the opportunity to choose not to have an auditor. Small companies are defined as companies that fulfill at least two of the following three criteria?s: less than 1,5 million SEK in balance sheet, less than three employees and turnover less than 3 million SEK. The decision regarding internal revision does not only affect the company itself but also other parties such as the taxation authority, banks and others that can be influenced by the decision. This essays main focus is on the influenced parties, especially the taxation authority and the banks as these have been highlighted in debates in media and because the small companies themselves may have difficulties to foresee the consequences of the new changes. The opinions from accounting companies will be considered in the essay as they can be considered as experts regarding the different aspect within this area.

Inledning: Det debatteras i media om att bonusar leder till kortsiktighet, att företagsledare medvetet väljer bort långsiktiga investeringar för att uppnå kortsiktiga vinster. Det har också debatterats om huruvida större bonusar till chefer leder till högre lönsamhet för aktieägarna.Syfte: Att undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar bonusar och hur bonusar påverkar företags investeringsstrategi. Vi vill även bidra med kvalitativ data till ett område som framförallt har studerats kvantitativt.Metod: Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ metod där vi har intervjuat personer för att få information om deras investeringsstrategi. Informationen om företagens ersättnings policy har vi hämtat från årsredovisningar. Vi har även läst vetenskapliga artiklar och litteratur inom ämnet.

The purpose of this thesis is to study the level of democracy within the European Union (EU). To do so the following issues were examined: How the EU works and the efforts it has made to improve levels of democracy; and the degree to which the EU fulfils the criteria set by Robert Dahl in his theory of polyarchy.The study is based on a qualitative text analysis. The focus of the analysis is documents released by the EU that can be connected to democracy, and human and fundamental rights. The theory of polyarchy proposed by Robert Dahl and Joseph Schumpeter?s theory of democracy are the principal theories applied.

Title:Changes in the auditing work of asset management companies.Advisor:Bengt BengtssonExaminer:Stig SörlingAuthors: Mattias Skog & Andrea CyganikPurpose:The purpose is to examine how the work of auditing asset management companies has changed since the crisis 2008.Methodology:The study is based on an adductive approach using a quantitative method.Theoretical framework:The theoretical framework includes previous studies and literature concerning the auditing business, the financial crisis, principal agent theory and stewardship theory.Empirical findings:The empirical material is based on answers from 22 auditors in 6 different auditing firms, and it was conducted by sending them a survey.Conclusion:The study showed that the major changes were changes in laws and regulations controlling the auditing business. New guidelines and laws were set to try and improve the quality of the auditing business while trying to restore stained reputation. New regulations were also set to increase the control the government have of inspecting the business through finansinspektionen..

This thesis is about how ideology affects the way leadership literature measures good and bad leadership qualities. The paper argues that ideological influences in leadership literature, from a teacher perspective, complicate the understanding of leadership in its practice and theory. The methodological tool used in this thesis is an idea- and ideology analysis approach applied on leadership literature that is used in teacher education. A theoretical discussion about the definition of leadership and its possible ideological connotations sets a frame for measuring ideological influences in the texts. The analysis from the textbooks showed clear signs of ideological influences when talking about leadership.

Internkommunikation är något som finns i alla företag och förefaller vara en viktig del av ett företags ekonomistyrning då ledare med hjälp av internkommunikation mer effektivt kan samordna personal att sträva mot företagets mål. Då det behövs mer forskning kring hur företag med hjälp av internkommunikation kan bli mer effektiva är syftet med studien att skapa en förståelse för hur företag kan använda sin internkommunikation som en del av sin ekonomistyrning. Studien har genomförts som en fallstudie med intervjuer på ett tjänsteföretag som är en del av en större koncern och visar på vad ledare kan behöva ta hänsyn till när de ska utforma kommunikationsstrategier. Vidare har studien med utgångspunkt i Agentteorin och Attention-Based View of the firm tagit fram en förenklad modell för att försöka förklara sambandet mellan dessa teorier, det vill säga hur relationen mellan informationsasymmetri och personalens förmåga att rikta uppmärksamhet mot information ter sig. Groups that are often referred to as being dismissed in society in general is by some aspects also considered being so in political arenas. A recent compilation of existing research over structurally based objections of gaining power and positions within Swedish parliamentary politics highlight a lack of research considering whether sexual orientation could be such a discriminatory basis. Using a queer theoretical approach, and drawing on concepts such as heteronormativity and homophobia, the principal aim of this essay is to illuminate aspects of local parliamentary political areas where discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation become relevant. In order to do so six in-depth interviews with homosexual politicians have been conducted. Finding a queer potential in certain ideological parliamentary political environments that enable homosexual politicians to be open about their sexual orientation, it still relies upon the individual to be confident enough not to interpret the political context as homophobic and heteronormative..

Följande studie analyserar utdelningspolitiken hos familjeföretag under åren 2004-2014. Studien är uppdelad i två steg. Första steget syftar till att svara på frågan om familjeföretag har en högre utdelningsnivå än icke-familjeföretag. Steg två undersöker huruvida ett aktivt ägande påverkar utdelningarna hos familjeföretag. Studien baseras på en totalundersökning av företag som under våren 2015 var noterade på Nasdaq OMX Stockholms Large-, Mid- och Small-Cap.

The principal aim of this thesis is to test if extracts, produced by the automatic summarizer "Copernic Summarizer", are possible to use as abstracts. The aim is also to give a picture of what automatic summarization is and why it is motivated. Three questions are asked: What is automatic summarization and what can it be used for? Is it possible to replace the author-written abstracts with extracts from "Copernic Summarizer"? Is automatic summarization motivated for the different areas of use that are identified in the first question? An automatic summarizer is a program that is intended to summarize text automatically and it can be used for different purposes, for example for summarizing WebPages or scientific articles. To answer the second question an experiment is carried out.

Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur marknaden reagerar vid tillkännagivande av vd-byte. Delsyftet är att undersöka om andra variabler såsom finansiellt resultat, avgångstyp och företagsstorlek kan ha en påverkan på aktiekursen.Metod: För att kunna mäta marknadsreaktionen vid tillkännagivande av vd-byte har en eventstudie tillämpats. En hypotesprövning har även gjorts för att ge svar på frågeställningarna och beräkna om det förekommer något samband mellan händelsen och reaktionen av aktiemarknaden. Urvalet består av 60 vd-avgångar som skett under en tioårsperiod, år 2001-2011. Företagen är tagna från Stockholmsbörsen där hälften är klassade som stora och hälften som små bolag.Slutsats: Generellt reagerar marknaden negativt vid tillkännagivande av vd-byte.

In this qualitative study of students? methods of calculating subtractions, I have used interviews, subtraction exercises and analysis of teaching material. The purpose of my study was to explore which methods students in grade three uses when calculating subtractions. I also wanted to highlight which strategies the students use and their comprehension of the concept of subtraction. In the study, I also highlight the different pedagogical ideas on which the teaching material is based on and the students? choice of methods.  The study shows that the students choose to use the methods?deduct? and ?kind of number? independently.

Background: The background explains different financial crises and the effect those crises had on the Swedish acquits regarding variable compensation. The resent discussion regarding variable compensation and the main problems with bonuses is also explained. Our theories for this essay is mainly based on the new directions from Finansinspektionen FFFS 2009:6,7 and stakeholder theory. Other theories used are agency theory, stewardship theory and economic man.Purpose: The purpose of this essay is to analyze the new directions for variable compensation and to investigate if these new directions can lead to a more long-term thinking for managers in banks. Method: We used semi-structured interviews with open questions for our survey.
