Sweden is facing a shift in generation where the people born in the 1940s are starting to retire which results in consequences. Before the year of 2013 more than 180 000 companies will have to change owner. A study indicates that the majority of all Swedes in the age of 18-70 can consider becoming company owners.Only ten percent of the companies for sale will reach the company broker and another 15 percent will be mediated by legal experts and accountants. This means that 75 percent of the companies for sale will not be available for the public market. As a potential buyer this is a problem.

Syftet med denna kvalitativa studie är att undersöka hur olika anställda på en given industri ? kollektivarbetare och tjänstemän - reflekterar över sina arbetskläder och vilket symboliskt värde kläderna har i deras kontext, samt hur detta påverkar deras egen identitet. Frågeställnigarna arbetet utgår ifrån är: Vilket symboliskt värde har arbetskläder för de anställda på den givna industrin? Och, hur påverkar arbetsklädernas symboliska värde den enskilde individens identitet? Uppsatsens empiri grundar sig på samtalsintervjuer med tre anställda från en industri, och där empirin tolkas utifrån sociologiska teoretiska modeller såsom den symboliska interaktionismen, det dramaturgiska perspektivet, begrepp från sociologen Pierre Bourdieu, och idéhistorikern Michel Foucaults redogörelse över den moderna disciplinen. De slutsatser som kan dras utifrån analysen av empirin, är att på denna industri så finns det en social hierarki - oberoende av överordnande chefspositioner - som upprätthålls genom arbetskläders symboliska värde. Arbetsklädernas symboliska värde består i att de uttrycker en distinktion och identifikation mellan olika typer av kapital och definierar och markerar de olika positioner som finns inom detta fält.

This essay deals with Swedish unemployment politics during the period 1918-1932, and can be seen as a contribution to earlier research of how the policies, established by the State Unemployment Commission, was carried out at a local level. This study bears upon  Uddevalla municipality, a town in the southwestern part of Sweden, which had about 13,700 inhabitants in 1920.The research was conducted in Uddevalla municipality archives, and the sources used are above all municipal records and documents from the local unemployment committee. The measures taken by the local committee to reduce the effects of unemployment have then been compared with the directives of the State Unemployment Commission.The survey shows that the local unemployment committee, at least during the first half of the 1920s, was very keen to follow the directives of the State Unemployment Commission, and they also tried to charge the municipality's economy as little as possible. The local policy was often even more restrictive than the demands from the State Unemployment Commission. During a few years in the middle of the 1920s, when the unemployment was relatively low, most of the unemployed did not recieve any help at all.The restrictive policy, however, led to an increasing distress among the unemployed, and the poor relief had to give financial help to a lot of unemployed and their families.

I denna uppsats undersöks diskursartikulationer kring narkotikamissbruk för att ta reda på hur de konstrueras i medietexter, vilka som får komma till tal samt vilka roller dessa artikulationer tar och deras förhållande till varandra. Teorin som använts är Faircloughs kritiska diskursanalys och som komplement till den har Laclau & Mouffes kritiska diskursteori använts. I studien synliggörs tre olika artikulationstrender beroende på vilken ideologisk utgångspunkt skribenten kunde antas ha baserat på sin position. This master's thesis studies Utländska biblioteket, a 19th century foreign literature subscription library in Karlskrona, Sweden. The aim of the thesis is to investigate Utländska biblioteket between 1835?1864.The material consists primarily of primary sources from the archive of Utländska biblioteket. The main primary sources are the library's accounts book, its minutes, and two book catalogs. Using analytical tools from Jürgen Habermas, feminist criticism of his ideas and from Pierre Bourdieu, as well as results from previous research on older library forms and female organization in the 19th century, the thesis answers questions relating to the library as a society, its members and its book collection.The investigation shows that Utländska biblioteket was a subscription library as well as a book circle.

In connection with Henriksdals wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) a smaller plant is situated called Sjöstadsverket where new methods for wastewater treatment are tested and evaluated in different process lines. On one of the lines experiments with enhanced biological phosphorous removal (EBPR), have been carried out to evaluate if it is a good alternative to traditional chemical phosphorus removal. This thesis evaluates the results from the experiments conducted during fall 2005.The incoming water from Hammarby Sjöstad consists of only household wastewater, which gives a wastewater with high concentrations of nutrients and organic carbon. This is partly positive, because one of the limiting factors for effective biological phosphorus removal is the lack of easily biodegradable organic carbon. The high concentrations of ammonium and phosphorus demand a high reduction to achieve the requirements of outgoing concentration.To optimize the process experiments with different recirculations and different aeration techniques have been made.

Syftet i denna uppsats är att undersöka talutrymmet hos starka respektive svaga elever.Uppsatsen grundar sig på material från observationer i en klass under loppet av två dagar och ger en tydlig inblick i hur det ser ut i verkligheten. Resultatet visade att de stereotypa roller som finns i stort stämmer överens med hur det egentligen är och det visade sig att svaga elever talar mindre. Detta beror framförallt på läraren då denne väljer att ge de starka eleverna ordet trots att det är den gruppen elever som också tar ordet själva. Av resultaten att döma är en förändring behövlig..
