Laminitis is a common but devastating condition, and affected horses are often euthanized or influenced a very long time. Many horses never return to their original capacity. Laminitis is often associated with severe pain and a long time of convalescence. Symthoms includes lameness, hoof hyperthermia, strenghthened digital pulse and pain. The horse often tries to move the body weight away from the forelegs which are often more severly affected than the hindlimbs.

?Mechanical debridment ? A studie in irrigation optimization? is a final thesis which was executed by Fredrick Ekman, in close collaboration with the other group member Mikael Johansson, during the spring 2012. The thesis was carried out through Karlstad University Faculty of Technology and Science in the study program of Innovation and Design Engineering (180 ECTS credits). The client of the project was Medilink AB located in Lindesberg, and the contact person was Nils-Erik Söderström, Chief Executive Officer. The project was supervised by lecturer, Lennart Wihk, and examined by lecturer and professor Fredrik Thuvander at Karlstad University.

Starting at the end of the Cold War, this publication assesses the impact of the upheavals in Eastern Europe and the atrophic Soviet Union on the Swedish doctrine of neutrality with its 200 year old tradition. Since the end of world war two the proximity of the Soviet Union had constituted the major impetus for upholding a position of neutrality and as this vanished a pressure for change was created. This essay works with a theoretical framework delineated by Kjell Goldmann and under this disposition, the Swedish tradition of neutrality, governmental positions, opposition and four major influential newspapers are studied. The standings of each variable are canvassed in an attempt to explain the development of Swedish security policy during the crucial years of 1988-1992..

Venösa bensår är ett stort hälsoproblem och medför en stor kostnad för samhället. Trots att mycket forskning har gjorts inom området behandlingar av venösa bensår, appliceras inte detta tillräckligt i vården. Patienter som lever med venösa bensår upplever oftast en försämrad livskvalitet. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att ur ett omvårdnadsperspektiv belysa effekterna av kompressionsbehandlingar och hudtransplantationer vid venösa bensår. Resultatet var en bearbetning av 18 vetenskapliga artiklar som sammanställdes utifrån olika problemområden. Resultatet visade att patientens följsamhet påverkar graden av sårläkning.

The report begins with a general inventory of possible technical faults in a hydropower plant and of possible fault indicating measurements. Then an investigation is made concerning a few different faults. Based on this investigation a choice on seal box condition and water leakage is made as problem for a more thorough examination, in which it is concluded that the turbine water leakage is larger when the turbine is put into operation. The examination ultimately results in a computer alarm for faults related to the seal box. High-precision cutting in metal is very complicated, a lot of parameters affect the result: what geometries to be manufactured, surface roughness and tolerances to be achieved, batch size etcetera. When pull-broaching internal parts this might be even more important, than in any other cutting operation. Everything is machined in one single stroke and the general technology is built in to the tool, therefore big investments must be made to change the process. Milling for an example: one piece at a time is machined away, and a lot of parameters can be changed easily.It is very high pressure on the cutting-edge when the broach is cutting. Vanligaste orsaken till bensår är cirkulatoriska rubbningar som arteriell rubbning och venös insufficiens. Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats var att beskriva patienters upplevelser av att leva med bensår. Metod: Sökning och sammanställning av tidigare forskning.

Inledning: Distriktssköterskor har ett stort ansvar gällande blodtrycksmätning samt uppföljning av patienter med risk för hypertoni eller som behandlas för hypertoni inom primärvården. Blodtrycksmätning är en undersökningsmetod som förutsätter att den utförs korrekt med hänsyn till felkällor och rätt förfarande för att mätvärdet ska kunna tolkas rätt. Det finns ett flertal olika riktlinjer för hur standardiserad blodtrycksmätning bör utföras. Att arbeta hälsofrämjande är grundläggande i distriktssköterskors förhållningssätt och samtal kring livsstilsåtgärder är en viktig del i samband med behandling och förbyggande av förhöjt blodtryck. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att kartlägga hur blodtrycksmätning går till vid besöket hos distriktssköterskan samt vilka aspekter som tas upp i samtalet i samband med besöket.

In this project the focus has been on the system for recombination at Oskarshamn 2. The recombining systems have on several occasions switched paths due to low pressure before the last ejector that?s feeding the recombiner. Of the mentioned reason, events and several measuring points have been analyzed in this report since the installation of the recombining systems.In order to prove theories and demonstrate what may be the cause of this problem, we used heat balance calculations by the program Probera. Using the program, we can demonstrate that the catalytic process does not reach the desired temperature with the amount of combustible substance.

Since drinking habits are created in social environments the workplace has an important role in alcohol prevention. This study has investigated employees (N=216) in a Swedish municipality work organisation with the purpose to describe the alcohol culture in workplace and how it influences on the workers attitudes towards alcohol. The theoretical baseline for the study has been Ames and Janes framework that explains the relation between workplace culture and drinking habits among workers. The study showed significant relations between restrictive attitude towards alcohol and not drinking with co-workers (POR: 2.5) and feeling low pressure in the work situation (POR: 2.2). Therefore it should be of interest for employers to adopt a cultural perspective and a primary prevention strategy in their alcohol policies that focuses on social relations and the workplace conditions.

The purpose of our essay is to examine if variation exists in the way that auditors try their independence, this so called analysis-model. We will suggest some factors that influence the way auditors practise the analysis-model. The institutional theory predicts no differencies since the normative pressure could be expected to be severe. But we found that among other things people?s qualifications, personalities and audit firm?s size and age influence the way auditors try their independence.
