"Det är svårt det där med sanning? : En studie av text/bildrelationen i Sven Nordqvists verk När Findus var liten och försvann & Var är min syster?

The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between text and picture in two works by Sven Nordqvist, with the focus on how the action is propelled. The two works are compared in order to bring out any differences in the relationship and what significance this can have for the interpretation. The study also considers the theory of conceptual worlds to examine how the books can promote pupils? literary understanding. The method of analysis is based on Rhedin?s (2001) theoretical concepts and elements of Nikolajeva?s (2000) terminology.

Research reports as PISA and PIRLS show that reading comprehension among Swedish students have deteriorated in recent years and that girls have better reading comprehension than boys. The basis for this study is Maj-Gun Johansson's reading comprehension test done during the four years between the years 2005-2008 in the seventh grade in a municipality in Sweden. The main purpose of this study is to examine reading literacy in terms of the influence of content and form of texts viewed from a gender perspective. The study is divided into two parts. The first part is a survey on local reading comprehension compared with results from a similar national text.

Audiovisuell text och dess inverkan på elevers ordinlärning i engelska

Uppsatsen behandlar användandet av videotext som text i egen rätt med syfte att undersöka huruvida Utbildningsradions skolprogram kan vara till nytta för eleverna. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten är att ett sociokulturellt perspektiv på lärande är lämpligt eftersom avkodning av text är en aktiv process där lyssnaren interagerar med texten för att skapa mening och därmed lärande.Språkforskning och forskning kring användandet av audiovisuell text visar att engelsktextade och nivåanpassade program effektiviserar ordinlärningen hos eleverna. Tidigare forskning tyder på att det finns en koppling mellan top-down- respektive bottom-up-strategier i växelverkan vid läsning, och videotextens möjligheter att presentera en tydligare helhet med fler möjligheter att associera ords betydelser till ljud, bild, känsla och liknande. Undersökningen jämför om ordinlärningen utifrån en videotext ger mer eller mindre behållning än ordinlärning utifrån en tryckt text. Först gjordes ett förtest av de tillhörande ordlistorna.

The essay also discus and gives examples of definitions of what a text can be. Forskning har visat att när individer formar ett första intryck så kan intrycket påverkas negativt av faktorer som rökning, tatueringar eller övervikt. Tidigare studier har antingen låtit försökspersoner skatta egenskaper för en person presenterad på bild eller beskriven i text. Syfte med föreliggande undersökning var att kombinera tidigare studier och jämföra om bedömningar skiljer sig åt beroende på om personen som bedöms presenteras på bild eller genom text. Tatueringar användes som ett negativt attribut. 72 psykologistuderande, Stockholms Universitet, randomiserade till fyra grupper, fick skatta tio personlighetsegenskaper för en person via fyra olika enkäter.

ABSTRACTIn this study I have analyzed, throughout a gender perspective, two textbooks Den levandelitteraturen and Upplev litteraturen which are purposed to be used as teaching materials inSwedish schools in the subject of Swedish when teaching the history of literature. The intentof this study was to provide a gender analysis of two textbooks and the focus was on thepresentations of female and male writers, because they have not been studied earlier. In thisstudy, a qualitative text analytic method was used to achieve the best results as possible.Theories used in this study were Yvonne Hirdman?s and Raewyn Connell?s theories. Hirdmanclaims that there are differences between men and women at different levels in the societywhile Connell believes that this is a myth because, according to her, men and women arepsychologically alike.

AbstractThe aim of this study is to investigate how a picture book for children is transformed into an easy-to-read version for children who have just started reading. I examine two versions of Emil of Lönneberga. One of the books is the orginal picture book of Emil in Lönneberga and was written by Astrid Lindgren (1963), while the other is an easy-toreadversion of the book, as adapted by the author Helena Renvall (1977). I have conducted a comparative study as a text and picture analysis of the material, with the focus on the adaptation of the original story. The adaptation in this case is a revision intended to make the story easier to read and more accessible to today?s children.

A study of Tove Jansson's picturebook: The Book About Moomin, Mymble and Little MyThis study examines Tove Jansson's picture book The Book About Moomin, Mymbleand Little My, to show relationships between text and image in the narration of thestory. This is done through an analysis based on Ulla Rhedins dissertation The picturebook - towards a theory where the conclusion is that the picture book as book mediumcan be divided in three different picture concepts. The various concepts are; the epicpicture book, the expanding text as well as the genuine picture book. This study hasperformed a text and image analysis showing that the image colors, the differentspreads, landscape scenes and characters' placement, et cetera play a role in placingthe picture book in its concept.Tove Jansson used more than text and image to work out the story of theMoomintroll, Mymble and Little My, there are holes in the picture book that have animportant role, which the analysis will show.

Studies show that some pupils with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) can have difficulties in understanding written texts. The present study seeks to examine whether pupils with ASD differ in their reading comprehension of a factual text and a literary text. Another aim of the study is to obtain a picture of the reading habits of high school pupils with ASD, what reading strategies they use, and how they work with texts in Swedish lessons in school.The study uses texts from PISA surveys from 2009 and 2000. The factual text Varmluftsballongen (The Hot-air Balloon) was taken from the try-out for the 2009 survey and the literary text Gåvan (The Gift) was taken from the 2000 PISA survey. To gain some idea of the pupils? reading comprehension of the texts, the present study used the tasks accompanying the texts, with certain changes in the questions about the text on the hot-air balloon.

Betydelse av text och uttryckssätt för minnesförmåga och emotion

Hur en text ska utformas och förmedlas om man vill att den ska bevaras i minnet hos mottagaren och vad som väcker emotioner är frågor som den här studien vill söka svar på. Ett bekvämlighetsurval har använts och deltagarna har läst och lyssnat till olika texter. Efter varje text besvarades en enkät. Resultatet visar att utförandet av text och uttryck är beroende på om vi ska läsa eller lyssna till den. Vidare har ett samband mellan upplevd emotion och upplevd minnesförmåga noterats.

Cultural bias in health assessment has been asserted in various scientific reports. The aim of this study was to determine whether ethnicity effects how patients are represented in such medical certificates that are needed to obtain a certain Swedish social insurance. The setting was an analysis of 18 medical certificates for patients whose parents were born in Sweden, respectively of 18 medical certificates of patients whose parents immigrated to Sweden from non European countries. The main objective was comparison of the two groups to test for ethnical heteronormative representations of the patients and their parents. The method used is mainly based on critical discourse analysis in combination with Fowlers (1996) semantic tools used to decipher disparity in the discourse.
