Abstract Spiritual gardening, historical perspective and epistemology, - how do these concepts connect? A review of the ideologies of four pragmatic growers. The purpose of this thesis is: ? to present an alternative forthcoming perspective on knowledge, that may be of significance for future theories and knowledge about growing and gardening. ? to lift experiences with Nature Spirits into an academic context, that permits us a closer look at the phenomenon. ? to contribute to an academic platform connecting humanistic and natural sciences. The intention of this text is to bridge the differences between the strictly rational traditions of knowledge and those more experience based ones. The thesis wants to show that much can be won if feeling based and mental reflections once again are approached as equal sources of knowledge. The aim is to give an orientation about the subject of Nature Spirits. The interesting fact is not whether (that) one can talk to nature, but how one does it and that more can be understood about nature and the reality that the established sciences study. The form for this study of literature is a describing presentation; to put names on and give wording to the phenomena of Nature Spirits and Plantdevas. The sources of literature are four pragmatic practitioners of spiritual gardening who have written extensively about their own work.

In today?s horse keeping, there is an increasing awareness of the importance of movement and activity for the horses comfort and tenability, while tradition has it that horses should be kept in boxes and small paddocks. In order to develop housing systems that fulfils and optimizes the horses needs regarding movement and activity, we need to know more about factors that influence the activity patterns of horses. A first step is to be able to record and analyze the gaits in horses with an automated system. This could be done by use of accelerometer data.In this pilot study, existing accelerometer technique was used to characterize the different gaits in horses (walk, trot and canter) by studying how their respective signal patterns differ and how this is influenced by the size of the horse.The accelerometers being used in this study measures the movement in three different spaces; horizontal, lateral and vertical.

The aim of this qualitative study of service work in the private sector is to examine how the service worker experiences his/her work. There are three dimensions of the service workers experience in focus, and they are the base of my formulation of questions. The first dimension refers to how the service worker experiences the emotional labor demands from the employer. The second dimension concerns the relation between service worker and customer, from the view of the service worker. The third dimension problematizes how service workers experience efficiency.I have interviewed three call center customer workers and two hotel receptionists, using semi-structured interview technique.

The thesis examines ?intermediality? in Svenska Bios (Swedish Biograph) first fiction films. Värmlänningarne (1910), Fänrik Ståls Sägner (1910), Bröllopet på Ulfåsa (1910), Regina von Emmeritz och Konung Gustaf II Adolf (1910), Amuletten (1910), Emigranten (1910) and Järnbäraren (1911) are analysed in relation to theatre, literature, music and ?reality?. A detailed discussion of intermediality is combined with specific theories relating to pictorialism and literary presentation in film.

Detta examensarbete syftar till att skapa en digital översiktsplan för Bengtsfors kommun. Arbetet har gått ut på att digitalisera kartdata samt att bygga upp en databas med kartinformation och attributdata, för att få en fungerande översiktsplan, med ökad tillgänglighet för politiker och tjänstemän. Utifrån att ha fört en dialog med länsstyrelsen och studerat olika översiktsplaner har en databasbeskrivning arbetats fram. Kartorna har digitaliserats i AutoKa PC och lagrats i RT 90 2,5 gon väst, och sedan förts över till Mapinfo där även attributen lagrats. Kartorna har lagrats i olika skikt i mif- format.

Vårt syfte med detta arbete är att förvärva kunskap om den mc-relaterade brottsligheten, som är ett mytomspunnet och hotfullt problem i Sverige. Att det sedan blev mer specificerat till just Västmanland beror på att vi kommer att göra våran aspiranttjänst där. Dessutom vill vi ge andra personer som är intresserade, en inblick/kunskap om hur den mc-relaterade brottsligheten ser ut och hur polisen i Västmanland arbetar mot mc-relaterad kriminalitet. För att detta arbete ska bli så förståeligt som möjligt har vi valt att dela upp det i olika stycken med underrubriker. Vi börjar med en kort inblick i hur det ser ut i mc-världen, skillnaden mellan mc-gäng och mc-klubbar, vilken slags kriminalitet som mc-gängen sysslar med, samt hur polisen i Västmanland jobbar mot mc-kriminalitet.

En utveckling i dagens systemutvecklingsprojekt går mot att använda flera olika perspektiv vid utformning av ett informationssystem, exempelvis social kontext och sociologiska- och psykologiska aspekter. Kritik som idag riktas mot informationssystem är att systemen inte motsvarar de krav som finns från de olika intressenterna. Denna rapporten innehåller en presentation av de mål och egenskaper som anses vara viktiga vid utformning av ett informationssystem, för såväl systemutvecklare som användare. Mitt arbete har omfattat en empirisk undersökning samt en litteraturstudie. Den empiriska undersökningen har innefattat tre stycken djupintervjuer med systemutvecklare och användare av informationssystem.

Denna rapport beskriver det arbete vi gjorde hos Ninetech i Karlstad. Målet med vårtarbete var att skapa en applikation som hämtar information rörande resultat av automatiskabyggen i pågående projekt. Sammanställningen av olika projekt skulle visas löpande. Vårtarbete kan beskrivas som två delar, en praktisk och en teoretisk del. Den praktiska delenbestod av att skapa en applikation som visar status på de olika projekt som Ninetech förtillfället arbetar med.

The thesis describes the following main question: Will the administrative labour during football tournaments be made easier with the help from a mobile web service or will it convey to unnecessary extra work? To be able to give a good and qualified answer to this question, the thesis will in the beginning describe how the technique for such a system might look like and also describe the existing administrative moments during a football tournament, this is too give the reader a deeper understanding for further reading. The thesis then goes on to describe a concrete system which is tested on three football tournaments. On the basis of the tests, interviews and through analysis of these the thesis will be able to answer our questions. The result which we present in the thesis have unfolded through testing of the system on three chosen football tournaments.

Nowadays naval units are participating in international missions, where new and in many cases tougher conditions will affect their propulsion. This essay deals with some of the now developed nanostructure coatings and gives a presentation of how the coatings could function on some exposed parts of the naval powertrain. The essay investigates the possibility that the coatings can be used as a protective layer that will reduce or prevent wear on selected parts of the naval powertrains. As a basis for the essay, nanotechnology is described, as well as different reasons that wear occurs and application techniques for coatings The conclusion is that nanostructured coatings can be applied and provide a much better result on hardness and wear resistance as of naval powertrains compared to micro-structural coatings, both for manufacturing and renovation. The essay presents a few examples of the military utility of the nanostructure coatings as well as suggestions for further research..

Denna studie visar hur kärlekspar skiljer sig i interaktion och presentation av relationen/partnern på socialamedier. Skillnaderna tycks bero på att männen och kvinnorna interagerar utifrån föreställningar om maskulinitet och femininitet. Studien visar att kvinnorna är mer aktiva än männen på sociala medier, samt att de uttrycker ett större behov av att presentera relationen online. De tolkas därför i enlighet med den rådande genusordningen som relations-orienterade i sin interaktion. Männen framstår som oberoende och autonoma i deras användande av sociala medier och tycks inte visa något intresse för att presentera relationen.

I denna studie beskriver och analyserar vi lärares uppfattningar om att skriva sig till läsning med hjälp av datorn. I vår bakgrund ligger fokus på läsning och skrivning och där finns en presentation av olika metoder för att lära sig läsa och skriva. Presentationen avslutas med en beskrivning av Tragetons modell som är ämnet för denna undersökning. Eftersom vi är intresserade av lärarnas uppfattningar har vi valt att genomföra kvalitativa intervjuer med tre lärare som tillsammans med sina elever arbetar enligt ovanstående modell. Resultatet visar att lärarna tycker att det är en bra modell som ger en god läs- och skrivutveckling.

Baled silage has become one of the most important conservation methods in Sweden. Because we take our grass as silage we get the quality and the good hygenic that we would like to have. Silage has become a big buisiness also in the horse feeding where many of the breeders have changed from the hay to the hay-silage. The difference between regular silage and haysilage is that the hay silage is dryer (60-70%DM). The hay-silage has also put higher demands on machinery and wrapping material since the grass gets sharper and harder to press together real hard. The main reason for the test was to compare two different systems for wrapping, the new Cross Pac and conventional.

This student report is about neutering male and female cats and compares early ageneutering to neutering at the traditional age of 6 months.The main focus in this report is early age neutering, which means that neutering isperformed when the kittens are between 6 and 16 weeks of age. This technique has beenused by shelters in the United States for a long time, to prevent the adopted cats fromreproduce and contribute to the problem of overpopulation.Two different surgical methods are also addressed; the ventral midline incision and thelateral flank approach. Ovariohysterectomy and ovariectomy are also compared.I also address which drugs are preferable when kittens are neutered and some importantguidelines where you have to be extra careful when dealing with kittens.These guidelines are the preanesthetic evaluation, calculating drug dosages and preventinghypothermia, hypoglycaemia and stress.The report also has a summary of the concerns regarding early age neutering such asanaesthetic risks, growth disorders and growth plate fractures, urologic diseases andimmune system dysfunction, obesity, altered metabolism and behavioural changes.The sex hormones and how they change after neutering is also included.At the end of the report there is a compilation of a questionnaire that consists of eightquestions that I sent out to various animal hospitals and veterinary clinics in Sweden..
