This project will search for the sound in the contemporary landscape architecture, an attempt to combine music and land­scaping. In a first stage, I have searched for outdoor environments where loudspeakers are used, and sites with a concious sound design. The project will result in a sound design created for the park Frodeparken in Uppsala, Sweden. In my search for sites and examples of conscious sound, I have talked to the people behind the projects I found - landscape architects, sound artists and architects. Influences from different areas have been essential for me in the project.

AimThe aim of this study has been to examine how health enhancement teachers in Montana, USA, view the value of physical activity from a lifelong perspective.In what way does the health enhancement teacher think the importance of physical activity from a lifelong perspective could be presented?What resources are available for teachers to present the value of physical activity from a lifelong perspective?MethodThe issue has been answered through qualitative interviews consisting of six health enhancement teachers, four women and two men, in Montana, USA. One of the teachers worked at an elementary school (for 30 years), three teachers worked at middle schools (20, 10 and 8 years of work experience) and two of the teachers interviewed worked at a high school (30 and 3 years).  ResultsThe majority of teachers feel that a wide variety of activities, adapted to an individual level, and the understanding of a healthy lifestyle are important in order for the teacher to present the value of physical activity from a lifelong perspective.The teachers felt they had sufficient material in order to present the value of physical activity, where the school budget provided the teachers with materials every year. In addition to the budget, all the teachers had 12 hours of professional development every year where they could attend conferences or their own choice of professional development.ConclusionWith the help in forms of professional development offered by the school, conferences, meeting with other teachers, and their own choice of development, the teachers instruction techniques could increase which could help the teachers to find the pupils? interest for different kinds of physical activities.KeywordsPhysical education and health, physical activity, SOC, sense of coherence..

AbstractThe beginning of the 20th century gave birth to quantum physics. Within years it revolutionized material science and converted the theoretical foundations of modern chemistry, and to some extent even biology, to physics? new branch, molecular physics. Merger of relativistic and quantum physics soon led to the development of quantum field theory and a deeper understanding of the elementary constituents of matter. Part of this development found its way into high school textbooks as early as in the 1950s.

This report is about a thesis that is performed in and for SYSteam Engineering AB in Motala. The thesis work is divided into three parts, study of the market, programming and electronics. The study part consists of examining and comparing different data acquisition systems for testing of different circuit boards, taking into account the modularity, real-time applications, mobility, environmental, interface hardware and software, to be able to define a general module-based data acquisition system in both hardware and software that enables for future developments.The programming part consists of getting started with Visual Studio, which integrates the Measurement Studio for C#. NET. Measurement Studio includes classes and user controls for testing and measuring and offers tools for acquisition, analysis and presentation of real world data.

This thesis presents a study aiming to identify the selection criteria for the digitization of posters at the National Library of Sweden (Kungl. biblioteket). The theory is that cultural heritage institutions are empowered to decide how our cultural heritage is presented as they select what items (or, as in this study, posters) will be digitized. The poster is studied as it is an interesting media form which historically was an important means of communication. The poster can represent and reflect historical events and opinions in society.

The purpose of this study is to examine the teachings of rhetoric?s in schools, more specifically within the Swedish subject; furthermore it examines how Swedish teachers work with rhetoric in the Swedish subject on a practical basis. The study also highlights teachers' approaches to the curriculum for high school. The method I have used to conduct this study, have been to use interviews and inductive ethnography. The teachers whom have been interviewed in my study have similar understandings of what oral presentations actually are, but their idea of what the term rhetoric stands for however differs. Teachers have received similar training in rhetoric; however, they have different experiences within it.

Our choice of respondents was based on what kind of respondents that could give us the most accurate information on the subject which we based on relevant variables. Theory: The framing of the theories is based on a marketing perspective within the area of differentiating and focuses on how companies use different tools to differentiate their offer to create competitive advantages.

The purpose of this masters thesis is to study two subject gate-ways within the field of Swedish higher education and academic research, concerning structuring and selection of Internet resources to facilitate information retrieval for their target groups, and also to study two co-operation projects in the same field, one national and one European, to see how the co-operation is being carried through and how the gateways in the projects can serve from a wider perspective. The gateways, AGORA and NOVAGate, are being studied mainly by their Web sites and two e-mail interviews with persons responsible for the gateways. Facts about the national project are principally based on an interview with BIBSAM. The European Renardus is being studied out of articles and information on the Web site. From the results of the study it is being clear that the purpose of the gateways is to make a quality-selection of information accessible via the Internet and thereby facilitate for their target groups to find usable information.

Sammanfattning Detta arbete beskriver de studier som utförts vid implementering av Last Planner planeringsmetod, i projektet att bygga LKAB:s flotationsanläggning i Svappavaara. Studien har bedrivits vid institutionen för Samhällsbyggnad i Luleå och LKAB:s malmförädlingsverk i Svappavaara. Arbetet inleder med en granskning av litteratur om teorier och grundtankar om Lean Construction. Filosofin bakom Lean Construction bygger på att avlägsna alla processer som inte skapar mervärde för kunden. Tankegångarna kommer från den Japanska bilindustrin och då främst från Toyotas framgångsrika produktionssystem TPS.

Som examensarbete vid programmet högskoleexamen Samhällsbyggnad med inriktningen Infrastruktur, har metoder för renovering av VA-ledningar valts för studier och presentation. Valet har gjorts då nyfikenhet i ämnet väckts efter anställning vid konsultföretag inom området mark- och VA-projektering. Faktainsamling rörande renoveringsmetoder har utförts genom litteraturstudier, intervjuer med ledningsägare samt genom intervju med VA-projektör. Besök på plats för genomförd ledningsrenovering har skett, och utförande samt resultat av denna renovering har studerats. Litteraturstudier samt intervjusvar visar på att det finns nio huvudsakliga metoder, vilka anses vara vanligast förekommande, för ledningsrenovering samt en vanligt förekommande metod för brunnsrenovering.

This study focuses on costume as a source of information. By making a case study of an 1880's dress itaims to explore the conservators potential as an investigator and conveyor of the information containedin a costume. Further explanation of this role is made by reference to several statements made by wellknown textile conservators. The paper also explores the different words used to make a new version ofa preserved or inexistant garment, gives an extensive presentation of taking patterns and an insight tothe other methods used for analysing costumes. The case study consists of an investigation of the dressconstruction, during which a pattern is taken, and a literature study of the contemporary fashion, theowner of the dress and the maker of the dress.

Denna rapport behandlar en prisjämförelse mellan fyra olika elsystem i fyra valda referensmiljöer. Uppdragsgivaren till detta projekt är företaget Arexor som har utvecklat en ellist som de ska släppa på marknaden under hösten och därför vill ha en prisbild på marknaden idag. De olika systemen är i huvuddel Thorsmans TEK-123, KB-systems DWP, Eubiqs PTS samt det traditionella sättet med kablar och VP-rör infällda i väggen. Även en presentation av projektets uppdragsgivare Arexor och deras ETS finns att läsa om. För att kunna utgå från en realistisk bakgrund är referensmiljöerna valda så att en standard kan sättas för utformningen.

Utvecklingen av webben har från att vara statisk i sin presentation och förmedling av informationövergått till att vara mycket rikare på funktionalitet och interaktionsmöjligheter. Ajax är ett begreppsom relaterar till en samling tekniker som när de används i kombination ger möjligheten att skapawebbapplikationer som sett till effektivitet och interaktion kan jämföras med lokala applikationer. Igrunden ger Ajax möjlighet till asynkron kommunikation vilket ersätter den traditionellawebbmodellens synkrona beteende. Detta leder till webbapplikationer kan inta en nyinteraktionsform där innehåll inte behöver laddas i form av hela sidor. Webbutvecklare ställsdärmed inför en rad problem när dessa webbapplikationer skall skapas i jämförelse med dentraditionella webbutvecklingen och syftet med denna uppsats är således att kartlägga problem ochproblemområden som finns vid webbutveckling med Ajax.

Enligt Lagen om skydd mot olyckor är en av länsstyrelsens viktigare uppgifter inom verksamhetsområdet att bedriva tillsyn över kommunerna. Denna tillsyn ska syfta till att skapa en likvärdig utveckling och likvärdiga förhållande i hela landet med avseende på de lokala förhållandena.Detta examensarbete är konstruerat för att förbättra länsstyrelsen i västra Götalands region förmåga att genomföra tillsyn över kommunernas resultat av deras verksamhet inom LSO.Detta görs genom att skapa en ny kommungruppering, inhämtning av relevant information över tätorterna, utveckla tillsynen över kommunernas resultat samt ta fram en presentationsmodell som ska användas vid tillsynsbesök.En ny kommungruppering har tagits fram genom att tillämpa betygsättningen som genereras ur tillsynsmodellen som har skapats från Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap. Ett dokument med faktauppgifter över risker, befolkning, offentliga, ? privata verksamheter och förmåga att genomföra räddningsinsatser över samtliga tätorter i länet har tagits fram. Tillsyn över kommunens resultat har utvecklats genom att ta fram nya och utveckla de befintliga faktorerna inom skydd och säkerhet.
