The report analyses if some common problems can be avoided by using modern technology. As a reference system ?Fartygsrapporteringssystemet? is used. It is an n-tier web application built with modern technology at time, 2003-2004. The aim is to examine whether ASP.Net MVC, Windows Communication Foundation, Workflow Foundation and SQL Server 2005 Service Broker can be used to create an n-tier web application which also communicate with other systems and facilitate automated testing.

This degree project is a realization of a strategy for collaboration between an industrial designer and employed workmen of a producing company. The collaboration aims to engage everyone involved in the co-authorship of a products design and manufacturing history. The realization has taken place in an open dialogue where the designer no longer owns the design process by himself. The project has been carried out in cooperation with the company Iris Hantverk. The company is owned by the Swedish body for visually impaired and has their main production facility in Stockholm.

I detta arbete undersöker jag hur modelleringsgrupper sätts samman och hur det går att få dem att samverka på ett tillfredsställande sätt. Min undersökning är gjord med projektledare och modelleringsledare på olika företag och organisationer i Skövde.Rapporten inleds med en introduktion och en bakgrund till ämnet. Först kommer en kort presentation av informationssystem, systemutveckling, verksamhetsanalys och modellering sedan följt av en djupare presentation av grupper.För att genomföra min undersökning började jag med att göra en litteraturstudie som resulterade i ett ramverk. Ramverket kan ses som en sammanställning av den litteratur jag studerat. Undersökningen genomförde jag genom att göra besöksintervjuer och resultatet från undersökningen jämförde jag först inbördes med varandra och slutligen med mitt ramverk.Resultatet visar att de flesta modelleringsgrupper innehåller sex till tio deltagare.

This is a study of how emotional engagement can be measured and be taken into account in the development of websites. We believe that emotions become relevant only when viewed in correlation to how users experiencing a webpage. In this study, we developed a tool for use together with user tests where the information about the user's emotional engagement can add new value to the evaluation. The tool allows the user to mark, on the website, his/her emotions and level of engagement represented by colored circles, generating quantiative data on how users feel about the website. The tool is part of a method for evaluating the emotional engagement that we have developed which consists of user testing supported by the tool and accompanied by interviews..

AbstractThis thesis was conducted by Jenny Jansson and Maria Madsen, students at the Faculty ofTechnology and Science and the Innovation and Design Engineer programme at KarlstadUniversity, during the spring 2008. The thesis covers 22,5hp for each student. AnnaHolmquist and Chandra Ahlsell at the company FOLKFORM were the ones who requestedthe theis, their company are located at Stora Skuggan in Stockholm. Tutor for this thesis wasLennar Wihk and the examiner was Monika Jakobsson of Karlstad University.The given assignment came from FOLKFORM and the aim for the thesis was to create afurther development of two already existing lamps from an earlier collection at FOLKFORM,?Jaipur? and ?Modern Times?.

The purpose of this master thesis has been to find different solutions to the design of a headlamp with a cluster of three or possibly four high power LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). During the work, two different problems have been considered; how to design a lens in order to shape the light beam in a desirable way, and how to design a cooling system which will lower the temperature of the LEDs as efficiently as possible, still taking into account the geometry set by the optical solution as well as other given geometries. The results presented in this thesis are partly the outcome of a literature study, but derive mainly from a number of tests and measurements made on two test rigs and one concept prototype..

This study investigates how tagging is being used in a new way when members of a Swedish dating site get to tag themselves in an act of self-presentation with the aim of meeting new people. In the study seven members of the dating site Mazily were interviewed about their self-presentation, tagging and identity formation there. The questions concerned how they formed their own tags, but also how they interpret and use other members' tags in their search for a potential partner.I have been using queer theories for this study, in order to find out what kind of norms and structures that lie behind and affect the members' behaviour on the website. My study finds that the interviewed members to a high degree reflect about both their own and other members tagging and self-presentations. Although they spend quite some time trying to analyse other people on the website they have a great sense of understanding that a person may give two very different impressions on the site and offline.

This is a bachelor thesis that studies and discuss the question: How can we develop our individual narrative technique with sound design in a Swedish drama production? We have done research and empirical studies. We have analyzed movies to get an idea how we use the sound design in Swedish drama productions today. Bakgrund: Målet med föräldrastöd i grupp är att det ska vara en stödjande miljö, att föräldrarna finner trygghet och utvecklar kunskap, får möjlighet till socialt nätverk och att alla har möjlighet till ett likvärdigt stöd. I Göteborg utvecklades år 2008 ett kursmaterial till stöd i föräldragrupp som innehåller en powerpointpresentation med olika ämnen, film, bilder och underlag till diskussion. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att utvärdera föräldrarnas uppfattning av stöd i föräldragrupp. Syftet var även att analysera hur nuvarande powerpointpresentation och stödet i föräldragrupp kan utvecklas. Metod: Metoden som använts var kvantitativ och kvalitativ analys av enkätdata.

This paper reports a study in how interaction design and graphic design is affected in the process of developing an mobile application to complement the use of an existing webbsite. The paper also ask how developers are affected in this process by the use of designpatterns. The purpous of the report was to see how designpatterns affects the development of mobile applications and how the interaction and graphic design differs between various company webbsites and their related application. A study was conducted by comparing three diffrent webbsites with three related applications to find material for our thesis. Interviews were conducted on three diffrent companys that work professionaly with creating mobile applications.

When different type of programs are developed one wants to make these adjustable to future changes and requirements. It must be done a good design of the program from the beginning to make it possible to continue development of it without having to redo big parts of it to high costs. In the area of object orientation there are design pattern, which can be used to design systems that can be adjusted to new changes in an easier way. I have in this thesis chosen to take a closer look at how to design a program that sends SMS to cell phones through a system of an operator. One requirement on the program is that it has to be possible to change what operator to send though in an easy way.

När ett nytt databassystem ska tas fram och införas i en organisation ska funktioner och krav på systemet identifieras och analyseras i en designprocess. Ett krav på ett databassystem kan vara att systemet ska uppvisa en viss prestanda. Designprocessen leder så småningom fram till fysisk design av databasen och dess applikationer. Det kan finnas flera olika lösningar för fysisk design av databasen och dess applikationer som tillgodoser kraven och funktionerna som ska finnas i systemet. Dessa olika lösningsalternativ ger olika prestanda.

Material handling is a term that includes all kinds of handling of material from a raw product to a finished one. ABB is active in the following segments; foundry, packaging and palletizing, metal industry and plastics industry.The demands for efficiency and reliability have been set very high in the industrial sector. Optimizing of the material handling will give the company higher cost-effectiveness. Around the robot there are different kinds of material flows, to optimize the cycle time, consisting of carriages combined in different ways.Motion Control is a complex system with main functions such as; positioning, synchronizing, indexing and more. The products in the system need to cooperate to make these functions possible therefore integration of motor- and servo products are important.
