Den lärande gruppen : Om reflektion i förskolan
Scheduled time for reflective work is common at many Swedish Preschools. Reflection is a complex concept that is being used with many different purposes in Preschools. The reflective work in Swedish Preschools today has its roots in the theories from Vygotskij about how children learn by watching and cooperating with others. Also, many Swedish Preschools have taken inspiration from the Preschools in Reggio Emilia in Italy, who see the reflective work as something necessary in their work around children?s learning processes.

The intention is to focus on the implementation of the tablet in Preschools and how the intentions around the introduction of the tablet take shape in different Preschools. The method is semi structured interviews where the respondents consist of 3 preschool directors and 6 teachers where the preschool directors work. This is a relevant subject to illustrate, as the tablet has become a tool in preschool where it seems to be different opinions about how it should be used. This study aims to understand how the implementation can take form in different Preschools, what kind of similarities and differences we can see with the intentions of the tablet and if there is need of clarification on the workings of the tablets in Preschools. The results show that the intentions around the introduction of the tablet in preschool look different in the Preschools, and the implementation of this new technology starts in a small scale with help of photographing and videotaping.

Förskolans balansgång mellan fri- och styrd rörelseträning : en kvalitativ studie om förskolors arbete med rörelseträning
AimThe aim with this essay has been to investigate how Preschools profiling in motor activity training, work to stimulate motor development of children. In order to study this, the main focus for the research has been on the following queries:What characterize motor activity training at the Preschools studied?What is the purpose with the motor activity training of Preschools which were studied?How do the Preschools describe the affect that motor activity training has on children?How do the Preschools look at the need for motor activity training?MethodFour in-depth interviews were conducted with representatives of the chosen Preschools profiling in motor activity. My selection was based on a strategic sample and this was made by an internet mapping of preschool activities in the districts of Stockholm, and information from the service guide of the town of Stockholm. Then e-mail was sent to ten contact persons at preschool units, and ten Preschools were contacted directly by phone.
Språkutvecklande arbetssätt i förskolan : En kvalitativ fältstudie kring två olika förskolor och deras språkutvecklande arbetsätt
The aim of this study was to examine how the activities of two Preschools develop the language in matter of the teacher?s work of procedure. The following research questions were essential for the survey and therefore formed the basis of the examination:How do the teachers in both Preschools work in a language evolving way?What significance does the environment have for the language development?Are there similarities and differences between the Preschools in their language development approach?The study is based on a qualitative method, where the teachers of both Preschools were interviewed with the purpose of obtaining information. The teacher?s statements and interviews were analyzed in relation to previous research, where the theories of different writers form the base of the theoretical connection to the study.The teachers view in developing the language regarding to their aspirations in measuring the language an important position in their operation, can be portraied as the conclusions of this study.
Manlig förskollärare sökes : En studie av manliga pedagoger i förskolan
The purpose with this essay is to get a deeper insight into why there is a lack of male educators in Swedish Preschools. I also want to know which role the male educators have in comparison to the female educators. This essay builds on four questions, which covers:The cause of the lack of males in Swedish PreschoolsIf there are any gender bound expectations on male educators in the Swedish PreschoolsWhat the woman educators perceive about the roles of the male educators in the Swedish PreschoolsHow the male educator experience his own work in a workplace dominated by womenThe method I have used is a qualitative interview study in which I have interviewed four male educators and two woman educators from three different Preschools. The result of this study shows that male educators gave different reasons to why there is a lack of male educators in Swedish childcare. According to the male educators the reason for this situation is that there is a worry to be seen as a feminine person, get singled out as a pedophile and that the childcare sector has low status.

The purpose of this study is to create knowledge about the view on play and work with play in Nepal?s Preschools. To do that I travelled to Nepal and interviewed people who had an insight in either work regarding play in Preschools or the view on play. I used a kind of interview were the person I interviewed got the phenomenon ?play? to discuss and to reason about, without my values.

Abstract The Act of Education outlines that good quality in schools and Preschools, focusing on continuous improvement, promote children?s learning and this in turn is on of the most important factors for child and youth welfare.This thesis was based on the authors´ pre-understanding that there are opportunities to improvement in the quality of Preschools. The focus was on studying how analyses can provide a base for quality work, and the purpose of this study was to identify and describe the analytical methods that can be used in the process of continual improvement for quality development in Preschools.A qualitative study was conducted in two Preschools that have received quality awards. It was conducted through interviews with the preschool principals and through studies of various documents.In the comparative analysis of theory and empirical data, it was made clear that there was a regular analysing process going on at the investigated Preschools and an emphasize of reflection could also be identified. Child poverty in Sweden as a social phenomenon has been highlighted in various debates and in poverty research during the recent years. Children's economic vulnerability has gotten more place in research. An interest to highlight child poverty awakened and this study highlights child poverty through a resource perspective among children in Preschools. This study aims to examine how preschool teachers perceive the child's assets to various resources as well as how preschool teachers perceive the impact of the preschool where they work on children's access to these resources. The study is qualitative and has used interviews as a tool.

Chemicals in Preschools - a study of endocrine disrupting chemicals and awareness among preschool teachers The purpose of this study was to investigate endocrine disrupting chemicals that have been shown in Preschools and also the preschool teachers? awareness of these chemicals. There were two methods used for completing this study; a literature study and a practical study. The literature study was made by researching on the internet and in books. The practical study was performed by sending questionnaires to all Preschools in Kiruna municipality to study awareness among staff.
Förskolan i ett mångkulturellt samhälle : Pedagogers föreställningar kring mångkulturellt arbete på förskolan
The purpose of this study was to describe, understand and analyze the thought behind the perception amongst pedagogues´ on multicultural work in Preschools, based on an intercultural perspective. In this study, I questioned the pedagogues´ view on the work in Preschools that prepares children for a life in a multicultural society and also the way they describe the cultural challenges.The study was accomplished and questions were answered by studying current literature and previous research in the field. I also interviewed four pedagogues from two different Preschools located in separate areas.This study shows that many opinions that pedagogues expressed in the interviews can be traced back to an ?us vs. them? perspective, in which your own culture, the Swedish one in this case, is the most critical and should receive the greatest attention in preschool.

AbstractThe aim of the present study was to investigate if and how pre-school teachers reach the objectives in the national curriculum concerning the environmental issues.Another angle of this study is to find out if there are any involvement amongst the Preschools regarding the environmental issues and if the teachers encourage the children to join in and make them a part of discussion.I have randomly chosen 10 Preschools throughout Sweden and interviewed one staff-member from each school. Most of the Preschools were well aware of the goals to follow according to the national curriculum.After comparing the answers my conclusion is that Preschools act quite differently concerning environmental issues. Some worked almost exclusively with the children involved. Others occasionally involved the children whereas a few didn?t include the children at all.In every case the teachers would want to dedicate more time to environmental issues.

This study is about differences in knowledge regarding animals. In the study five year old preschool children from a city were compared to five year old preschool children in the suburbs with multicultural background. The study is also about where children´s knowledge about animals comes from and how educators can make a positive difference. To find this out standardized interviews was used on 23 children from four different Preschools, two Preschools in the suburbs with 15 children and two Preschools in the city with 13 children. A survey was sent out to the educators within these Preschools to gather background information on what the children do regarding animals.
Naturvetenskap och teknik i samspel med IKT i förskolan
The main purpose of this study is to, in the educator?s point of view, try to find out how pre-schools approach science and technology along with Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The survey was conducted based on qualitative interviews where two Preschools participated, a total of seven teachers were interviewed. One of the Preschools only has access to a computer, and the other preschool is able to use both computer and tablets in their preschool activities. The results of this show that the teacher?s thoughts about ICT are positive and that they consider it as an important part of their work and have many areas where it is useful.
